I started to say Andy would have gotten this year's Chiefs to the playoffs with Alex Smith.

But then I thought about our WR and LT situation, and yeah, 5 or 6 wins is fair.

Josh wins it as advertised, even though Lamar and Saquon had better years. "Best Year" goes to one of them. As for most valuable, the Chiefs going 15-1 under Mahomes, who would be lucky to win 5 or 6 games without him, might be actually most valuable. Under the way it's awarded I'm good with it. Just a shame that Lamar's possibly GOAT season doesn't get full credit.

Bills are the Panthers without Allen

Chiefs are better than them everywhere but OL I'd say

coach/pass catchers/D

hate seeing the voters get the MVP vote wrong. MV3 was screwed

at least they got DPOY right

and a tip of the cap to JOE for the second CBPOY award of his career

The thing is there are already unspoken rules about MVP, mainly that it can only go to a top 4-ish team in the conference, and also that the bar gets higher every year for repeat winners. There's always been a bias towards new winners.

And of course all the weird unspoken rules around OPOY.

These are accepted. But the unspoken rule that bothers people is that past playoff performance might weigh on future MVP awards.

I think it would just get sad for Lamar to keep winning MVP and keep losing in the playoffs. At least giving it to Josh takes the heat off Lamar a bit. It's close enough either way.

all fair points suzzer

that said, Joshua had a great season. LJack had a historic one

No idea what voters are taking into consideration and if it's even the same across the board. Some of the things I think they'd consider might be

Narrative - Josh
Better team record - Josh
Only QB to beat both #1 teams - Josh
Most memorable moments - Josh
Best record against playoff teams - Lamar
Better stats - Lamar

Quite a meh HoF class tbh. It felt 5 years ago that we had a huge backlog of worthy guys to get in but this year only 4 modern players announced and only really Gates who was a clear slam dunk

Happy for Eric Allen, but I would have been OK if Sharpe and Jared Allen didn’t get in.

that is why it is the best NFL market to bet, because it is entirely subjective and spur of the moment

last year if it was based on #s/performance then Dak would've beat Jackson

look at the people voting on it, as richie aprile once said when he went to the card game to bust up davey scatino "look at this ****in lineup...."

after this hot take from HOF voters
perhaps the only thing else that could make SS even more indisputably unsufferable is if skip bails on the personal invitation to manufacture a story about rejecting to read his brother's enshrinement speach

I think Jared Allen deserved it but wouldn’t have given a **** if he didn’t make it

Sharpe was just nonsense. And for a tiny ass class for him to get in was even more confusing

You're one of the masses who doesn't understand what MVP means. It's okay though; you're in the company of millions.

Sharpe was elected by the senior committee, so he wasn't in competition with all the modern day nominees

Is it possible to win comeback player of the year and MVP in the same season? Asking for a Tua.

It is, but not for Tua (sorry)

by natediggity m

It is, but not for Tua (sorry)

'cause it's gunna be dak

by REDeYeS00 m

'cause it's gunna be dak

It's gonna be Hutchinson

there's the one
bet you're correct

No. Not enough upside for the team. They're too close to the ceiling.

Dak is a better bet imo due to the position of the hapless Cowboys this year, but perhaps not the best bet. I'm open to hearing other candidates.

Aaron Rodgers ldo (paging bahbah)

Aaron Rodgers ldo (paging bahbah)

How can a guy who has always played at his peak have a comeback?

Perhaps the GM who gets him a couple of competent pass catchers should win the award?

I agree with all of that, yet Lamar might have just had the GOAT QB season and went to the playoffs and won a game. I wondered aloud about any QB season being better and didn't get any takers on it.
