He threw for like 200 yards and an interception against the Rams the 2nd time. We would absolutely be lambasting him if the Rams actually played competently that SB. I could win the SB if the opposition is scoring 3 points.

.

yes and Mahomes threw for 265 yards and 3 TDs yesterday and was a total and utter abomination. Sometimes the star player can't be the hero who has all the stats and glory for opposition or game circumstance or other reasons. But they shouldn't be the guy who gives the game away with their poor play either

Barkley's stats weren't great yesterday because the opposition played very well against him. That doesn't mean he isn't a brilliant player. Just that the opposition defended him well.

Mahomed played god awful, LeBron 2011 finals, Kobe 04 finals, Manning SB vs Seahawks level

but kinda victim of his own success too, this isn't the prime Hill/Kelce chiefs either

they're a team that clawed their way to wins all yr then only had to beat buffalo (who the ravens were probably better than) to get to the SB and finally just ran into a buzzsaw that could exploit the fact his best 2 pass catchers were a past prime TE and rookie WR

Yeah, I’m willing to give the guy who’s 3-2 in SBs and never finished worse than the AFCCG as a starter the benefit of doubt.

He’s still got a lot of work to do to be considered the GOAT, but yesterday was just a setback. He’s certainly not drawing dead because of one horrid performance.

Obviously Mahomes is great. The Eagles relied on secondary players against KC with Sweat, Milton. and Hunt. KC took out Saquon and Carter and the eagles still destroyed them. Landon Dickerson and Becton can barely walk.

by Hellmuth was right m

It wasnt just the pick-6, Eagles only had one TD last night that wasnt off a Mahomes Int or fumble where he gave philly the ball inside the 40 yard line, theres no defense in history that would be able to overcome that handicap

The Eagles played a near flawless game. They won in every facet.

My random worthless prediction: Chiefs will go through an expected decline, make the playoffs for a few more years but no deep runs, then fall off the map for a while. There'll be lots of talk about whether Mahomes will ever get another shot, then late in his career either they'll rebuild or he'll go to a contender as a hired gun. By the time he finally makes another SB run

what's the opposite of surprised pikachu?
'cause that's the face i'd make if this scenario happened
completely plausable

I’m not a believer of deciding Greatness purely by counting the number of majors/championships won anyway, but I seem to be an increasingly lonely voice shouting into the wind on that one.

But a performance that poor in such an important game is a heavy debit on his legacy

and this was well stated

by GusJohnsonGOAT m

Oh no, I do want to put blame on the o-line. They were god awful. To be fair, they had to play the Eagles defense, but this game was just an encore of the SB against TB. You have no shot yesterday with that protection.

16 pressures and six sacks on 42 drop backs and i heard fangio didn't blitz 'em once.
thought both teams played rock solid d for extended periods of time. obviously spags focused on shutting down barkley and the chiefs outside defenders were thumping him every play

that kc o-line was atrocious and as he gets older mahomes will more frequently be standing pat

Don’t get me wrong, the chefs o line was terrible, but end of the day if you’re Kermit and you’re supposed to be one of the best to ever do it, that performance was unforgivably bad

I really don't care about legacy stuff as much as most but one thing about the modern game is that the top tier QBs are basically NBA superstars now

so while Mahomes and the Chiefs getting blown out yesterday was interesting, it didn't exactly flip the league on its head as much as say the Greatest Show on Turf losing the superbowl and it marking the beginning of the end.

AFC is gonna be Mahomes/Allen/Lamar until further notice...Maybe Hou, LAC, Cin can get in the mix next year but it is very top heavy now with how much value those guys have.

SRM any thoughts on the 49ers picks Baumgardner made in his three round mock yday (no trades allowed)?

#11 Josh Simmons, OT, tOSU

#43 Jack Sawyer, Edge, tOSU

#75 Joshua Farmer, DT, FSU

#99 Jackson Slater, G/C, Sacramento State

His performance surely wasn’t up to par of a Rainbow Connection.

Somebody has been ****ing with Geno's Wiki page lol.

This should be interesting.

currently hedging the over markets on 5% of the transcript being unintelligible
still not sure how to wager the sleeveless prop, looking for opinions from other punters

wonder how it will work as a recruiting tool...could see it going either way

Haha could go great, could go terribly.

One of SRM’s wishes has been granted.

Deebo on the Commanders should be interesting. He could be washed but might as well for a 5th.
