Why does RB refuse to put someone decent in the 2nd seat, is it Max's camp vetoing Yuki?
Probably - Lawson was awful and yeah I know first race and it takes time for anyone other than Max to adapt to that RB seat but I don't see anyway back for Lawson here. Why would RB say not go for a Bottas type - just a solid no. 2 - not going to beat Max but at least score solid points. I think Yuki is off the cards - once Honda goes so does Yuki (except he is now performing above expectations which he probably feels he has to in order to keep his seat at Racing Bulls).
And further edit too - Honda should be pushing for Yuki at Aston Martin to replace Stroll as there is no place in F1 anymore for a driver like Stroll that is just there because of daddy's money. Honda is probably the only interest that could sway Lawrence Stroll to replace his son.

Question for mainly Feel wrath - with the disappointing start for Ferrari, anyone feel like as Lewis is clearly a no. 2 and arguably not even as fast as Sainz (maybe more consistent but not as quick) that won't push Charles enough for him to stay up with Lando and Max?

I am certain Lewis won’t be as fast as Charles this year - I don’t think he was as fast as George last year and Charles is clearly quicker than George IMO. I still think his race craft and tactical stuff will help drag him higher positions than his raw speed would dictate. But maybe that is also in decline.
But I also think it is too early to really tell…particularly re the Carlos comparisons - let’s give him and all the other newbies 5 ish races until ‘getting used to the new car’ isn’t a legitimate reason any more
Lastly, I don’t think …if he isn’t as fast as Charles….this can be used as an excuse by Charles. What’s Max’s excuse then? We never used it as an excuse when Lewis was dominating his other drivers.

I think Lewis might get good enough in the Ferrari to have a better race pace than Charles but Charles will outqualify him and Ferrari will mess up their races too often for it to be obvious.

Yes very sad news - what he did with Jordan F1 late in the 1990s was pretty remarkable to be ahead of Williams

Max's excuse is that the car seemingly has just been built around him - similar to why only Marquez could perform on the Honda MotoGP bike that it was built and designed how he wanted it. But that said I still think if Gasly was given a better chance he would still be team-mates with Max or could leave to go to another team on his own terms.

Just started watching his podcasts that he was doing with David Coulthard and was still doing them up to a couple of months ago (although the last one before that was 10 months before that) - anyway seems to be all cognitively there in the podcasts with Berger and Otmar Szafnauer
