2025 Formula 1 Season
2025 Formula 1 discussion thread...
Mschu must be so happy his beloved Lulu is doing so well.
Well?
proof?
doing well and starting well are two vastly different things.
'whining will still ensue... because he's Lulu'
hey, that rhymes
:p
Just about an hour to go for the sprint race and I am very excited to see the race with Lewis and Max starting the race from the first row.
Checo’s having a wonderful weekend
That sprint race was boring as **** and I got up at 03:45 for it.
It is becoming clearer every day that the Red Bull is an undrivable POS. If Max leaves, they will become a bottom 3 team in the constructors. If RB at any point want to swap Lawson for Tsunoda, Yuki is advised to say: No, I'm good, thanks.
the reg race will be boring also... passing is almost non existent because the track is of horde design.

Things could be about to get even worse for Williams, as 90 minutes after the conclusion of the sprint qualifying session, the FIAβs technical delegate Jo Bauer issued a statement confirming Williams were being referred to the stewards, following an alleged breach of the Technical Regulations.
Following the Australian Grand Prix, there has been several discussions around the issue of flexible rear wings on F1 cars, leading to a new rule being introduced meaning teams must provide the FIA with camera footage of the rear wing within an hour after the end of free practice.
And Williams is alleged to have breached this rule as they failed to provide the footage in time, meaning they could face a severe punishment ahead of the sprint race tomorrow.
The latest report from FIA Technical Delegate Jo Baue read: βThe Atlassian Williams Racing team failed to provide the video files recorded by the wireless forward and rearward facing cameras within one hour after the end of the first free practice session, as described in the procedure βAdditional Diagnosticβ of the Technical Directive TD034L.
βThe video files recorded by these cameras are used to monitor compliance with the first paragraph of Article 3.2.2 and furthermore as referred to in Article 3.15.16 of the 2025 Formula One Technical Regulations.
βAs this is not in compliance with Article 1.6 of the 2025 Formula One Technical Regulations, I am referring this matter to the stewards for their consideration.β
Checo tried to warn us that the Red Bull was a piece of garbage. I wonder how they lost the car so drastically without any big rule changes. Did they go overboard trying to perfect it for Max?
In any case, it just makes Max look like even more of a beast that he can still compete for wins in that thing.
I'm just going to put it down to Hamilton's resurgence is that there will be some tracks that Hamilton is just mighty at and this is one of them

Honestly - I don't think it is as much about the car as it is the driver with Lawson. F1 seems to be above his pay grade. On the other hand - Red bull seem to have got a very competitive Racing Bulls to fall back on to act as rear gunner for Max and Yuki (even though again I just can't see him being a long term option there with no Honda) could play a role there this year (as I don't want to see Red bull just waste that seat this year - same with Alpine and Doohan just move them on - I don't care about driver feelings. F1 is a very competitive game). The long term play for Yuki at Red bull could ultimately be too if Red bull give up on their engine program and it proves disastrous with Ford - now that may not happen but you certainly wouldn't want to burn any bridges with Honda in case you need to go back to them in a few years time.

I think it is just the reality of going back to a "normal" type circuit as opposed to the beast of a circuit that Albert Park has become by taking out the corners they have to make it much faster. We have to temper our expectations now after that start.

I think McLaren will be hard to beat as the only thing keeping Max in it is the h/p of the Red bull as it has been constantly the quickest in sector 3. At tracks that need a lot of downforce it is going to struggle.
How long till Ricardo back at Red Bull. Lawson appears to not be good
Lol both Ferraris disqualified. What a team
Red Bull has to already be looking for someone to replace Lawson.
And as I noted before, these one stop races are boring and lame. Please start using tires that require at least 2-3 stops each race.
Ocon - 7th to 5th
Antonelli - 8th to 6th
Albon - 9th to 7th
Bearman - 10th to 8th
Stroll - 12th to 9th
Sainz - 13th to 10th
Norris upgraded to Fastest Lap.
Hamilton downgraded to a DNF, remains one shy of Alonso for Most Finishes in F1 history.
I think he could certainly do a job at Red bull. Much better than Lawson but dear god what has happened to Lawson since he last ran or before that in F1 in 2023. But looking at his results with Alpha Tauri they were not great so one has to wonder how he got this gig.
His results at Alpha Tauri were pretty good. For someone who jumped in the car and got a handful of races he did very well. He wasn't far off Yuki for pace and had some good moments on track.
We're only 2 races in but I think it's pretty obvious that Red Bull build the car to suit Max's driving style and he's the priority. It's going to take time for Lawson to get used to the car. The question is whether he'll get enough races to do so. It's not a good look when one driver is at the front and the other is starting from the back. Marko and Horner aren't known for being patient people.

Bring in Colapinto and get back Carlos Slim (not that Red bull need his money but they seem to think they do with how long they kept Checo around). Not sure whether Alpine will give up Colapinto and may need to move Doohan on faster even though he hasn't done that bad a job versus Gasly.
Itβs very early. Letβs give them all at least 25% of the season, if not more
to the senior team... confirmed.
