After some reluctance to clarify, Waltz took responsibility for having organized the chat basically claiming his job is to coordinate or whatever.

Then he said the profile pic of Goldberg looked like a guy he wanted in the chat (didn't say who) and/or the initials are the same or whatever.

Then claimed he must have been added by a staffer.

I just do not understand why they would just not come out and say we screwed up in adding the journalist to the text chain and it was a bad mistake and luckily no lives were in danger or harmed.

Was it classified material at the time yes but once the attacks occurred I don't see it as classified

I’m not a military guy, but I think there’s plenty of detail in there that you don’t want getting out even after the deed is done.

Like- what kind of weapons you have available there, your general approach to these type of operations, what you are considering in carrying it out, who is involved in the decision making processes and what their points of view are, what the actual target was, etc.

You never see stuff with this level of detail like ever. They keep **** like this locked down from WW2 except for some snippets in museums and whatnot.

They should all resign.

The military is a rules based system, where leaders need to set the example of the people under them. If you don't do this, you just open the door for more incompetence, and lack of accountability.

This is not complicated... at all. Will it happen? Maybe one head will roll, but they should all be gone.

"A vulnerability has been identified in the Signal Messenger Application," begins the department-wide email, dated March 18 and obtained by NPR.

The memo continues, "Russian professional hacking groups are employing the 'linked devices' features to spy on encrypted conversations." It notes that Google has identified Russian hacking groups that are "targeting Signal Messenger to spy on persons of interest."
