Trump 2nd term prediction thread

Trump 2nd term prediction thread

So, looks like Trump not only smashed the electoral college, but is looking on track to win the popular vote, which seems to be an unexpected turn of events, but a clear sign of the current temperature in the country and perhaps the wider world.

Would be interested to hear views on how his 2nd term will pan out from both sides of the aisle - major happenings, what he's going to get done, what he's not going to get done, the impact of his election on the current conflicts in Ukraine and Gaza, whether his popularity will remain the same, wane, or increase, etc.

A bit of an anemic OP, I know, just interested to hear people's thoughts now that the election uncertainty is over.

I love that the response to any form of valid criticism of Trump is "well Biden and Kamala"

Trump is president.

We are coming up on a year since the last time Biden was relevant. Kamala lost the election.

Just stop it. Get some ****ing help

Trumpers: "We are $36 trillion in debt and need to balance the budget!!"

Also Trumpers: "We need $5K DOGE stimmy checks, get rid of income taxes, and go to Mars!!"

Normal people: "Fukkin ******s."

Yeah, I wish we got either biden or kamala so we'd have a president that can explain policy to us.

In all seriousness, considering the 3 people who just ran for president it is fairly obvious that neither party thinks clearly communicating a message to voters is all that important.

Mike Johnson, the Republican House speaker, and Richard Hudson, the chair of the GOP’s fundraising body, decided the embarrassment had to end, and they told Republicans to stop holding the public events.

But while that might save some Republican politicians from public humiliation, it could also deprive Americans of opportunities to interact with their elected officials, experts said, and prevent people from letting their representatives they are not happy with the increasingly divisive direction of the Trump administration.

Yup it’s hard to pass a message in that scenario !
Btw when Democrat ever told their members to stop holding public events?

It’s like covid strategy , don’t take stats and you won’t have a high rate of deaths …

I do too, because they can do so a lot better than Trump can. So, are you going to take the challenge or just try to deflect from it?

It's obvious that one party wouldn't recognize clear communication if it bit them in the face.

Well when someone criticizes trump voters for picking trump over kamala (or biden who was on the ticket until it became too obvious he couldn't explain policy without straight reading from a teleprompter) then it becomes pretty obvious that we should sit back and compare our choices on candidates.

I already suggest trump is historically bad at communicating clearly (in the post you quoted). I'm not sure what else you want from me.

Stop framing Trumps failures to your fantasy of what Biden or Kamala would be like. That is the definition of cope.

That's the definition of lesser evil which applies to a lot of voters in a lot of countries when choices are very limited

by housenuts k

Ya maybe. We'll see what happens in 14 years or so

Are you serious right now? Because you better not be serious right now. 😀

Trump is 78. Think a 92 life expectancy is reasonable. Dictators gonna dictate

Trump will call "DER SPIEGEL" a failing newspaper soon.

I predict that it will come out that the Trump administration funded a massive state media campaign through existing MSM channels

Being able to articulate policy to the general public, who are stupid in general, is very low on my ranking of what makes a president good at their job.

In the same light, I would consider "being able to articulate what a company does to a group of 2nd graders" very low on my ranking of what makes CEO good at their job. Now if you ask my what makes a teacher good at their job I would rank explaining things to 2nd graders important.

let's say Der Spiegel is *slightly* biased against trump, as this was their cover for feb 2017, basically before he ever had the time to do anything as president at all

The point isn't really that Trump can't articulate something to the public, it's that the reason he can't is because he is profoundly stupid and ignorant.

You forgot the part where he doesn't really have a policy to begin with.

hey remember how fun 1st grade was? Why do those liberal teachers keep trying to force us to 3rd grade? Follow me and I'll take you all the way back to preschool!

what a stunning politician. he's so amazing

I get it, you don't like him and therefore he is big fat meany-butt that is stupid. How stupid YOU think someone is isn't a consideration for what I think makes a good president.

Ah, the party that spent what seems like 95% of their budget promoting everything except policy (trump is bad, evil, racist, sexist, all-the-phobics, stupid & a meany-butt) now wants to claim the other side doesn't have a policy.

Trump announced this week that he is trying to push out the unions for public workers -that would be great for America.

If trump and doge are able to cut even 1/3 of what they claim they will cut this policy will be the greatest policy any president has passed in our lifetimes. Also, the fact that he knows it will hurt the economy during his term but greatly help the health of the economy long-term will also make people consider him the least selfish and power hungry president of our lifetimes.

Great. I didn't ask. I was explaining what the point was since you missed it, not trying to convince you of anything. I've long since realized what you think is usually wrong.

Cool, but coming back to reality for a second, what will happen is he's going to cause massive damage to the country that will take decades to repair due to his efforts to install an autocracy.
