$6.49 for a big mac in my part of town. The MCD's down the street from Dick's has to be open late?

From what I've seen at Aces, people just start parking on the yellow striped curbs, in the driveway of the little coffee stand, etc. I've never not been able to find a parking space, you'll just be parking in the way way back on a 70s era light industrial park.

Just keep in the back of you mind... houses here are mostly in the 800k range, how bad could it be?

Also the PLO regs I'd imagine always have big bankrolls and still play. I've always imagined casino parking lots to be safe; I'd be more worried about accidentally dropping my cash rather than being mugged in the 1-5 minutes it takes to get to your parking space.

I think people ordering shakes is what slows the line at Dicks. Dude in front of me ordered like 3 of them

Maverick increased rake again on the 400 mtt. Originally 400+50, then about 6 months ago 400 + 60. Now 400 + 70 and they call the extra 10 dealer appreciation like they never paid the dealers before. I am about done with poker in Seattle. The weekly is 150+50. Perssons is raking mtt to death.

Live at Ace's poker, Lakewood. 6/12 Omaha. A couple of the usuals from way back are here.

I remember when this place was an actual casino. Better bathrooms than Ace's Lynnwood, McDonald's across the street.

Got 3/4 of a massive kill pot with nut hearts and nut low, was almost $400. Raised/capped multiple streets until the last. Fun!

Just one server available, and a bartender

Both days, sat/sun, the 6/12 o8 game barely lasted a couple of hours until it broke.

Shame, the Sunday game was fun while it lasted. The player pool for this game must be tiny; it also sucks because the list will have 3 people on it, you'll wait an hour or so, only to play two hours or so until the game breaks.

Guess the move is to start the game in the am. Not for me

Hey all,

I'm going to be up in Seattle on black Friday with some time to kill during the day.

Are there currently any places within driving distance of west Seattle that spread Omaha/8 or mixed games on Fridays?

Thanks

Forget it. Only options are driving to Lakewood or Kirkland, Friday Seattle traffic. Two hours minimum rt.

Thanks. That sounds awful. I'll find something else to do

Try going to Roxbury lanes, forgot about that place. They do dpankumemta, maybe call and see if they have a game going. Decent food,.they have some carny table.games

in seattle, swung by a few podunk lil casinos

a bunch were closed, others i thought were closed but indeed had like 4 people in them

none had poker

few even had blackjack

will go to some of the proper ones later but so far it feels post apocalyptic, fallout new vegas had better casinos than what i've seen here

The busiest casino with poker is Fortune in Renton. There are a few other smaller poker casinos.

At the poker room in lakewood. At least four donkeys at my table. Calling with kq on a a55x board. Calling river with air KJ on an ace hi board

yeah been hitting fortune in renton a bunch as it's the closest to me

given that it looks like i'll be in seattle long term, i think it's time i learned how to play limit poker because of the $300 max wager really kills any chance of nl being a good game here

In my experience this isn't correct. Yes it will take away the opportunity for the biggest pots but it definitely doesn't ruin the game.

Yeah spread limit 300 max bet hasn't prevented people from playing poker.... if you like massive stacks to push ppl around u may need to reframe your game.

Also food sucks at aces poker Lakewood. Just confirming

edit mini trip report

arrived at Aces Sh*thole in the afternoon, got a seat quickly on the 1/3, put my name down on the 6/12 O8.

like I mentioned, ppl were playing 1/3 nl like it was 4/8 limit and looking up ppl very lightly. Got no hands, eventually got KK which held up for around 33bb. Then to the 08 table.

Usual mix of retirement-aged koreans, black guys, some other random asians and a white guy.

Went up, went down, until an inebriated asian lady joined the table and proceeded to raise every kill hand (10/20) and basically raise every hand, and after 1.5 minutes at the table, complained that the men gathered there were no fun. I told her, did you look at the people before you sat down?

So she doubled up to like 4-5 hundy after getting very lucky on kill pot raises, then went down to like $100, and then there was an argument about chips crossing the line, that's when I decided to leave +111

When the stuck koreans decide to pick fights with the drunks at midnight, that's a signal to hit the bricks

Just saw on FB that a van went through the wall at Fortune. Hope no one got hurt.

I was wondering what had happened when the website said there were only two games going on early Friday evening. They must have evacuated everyone and so started back up slowly. They're now back up to 7 games.

looks like i'm moving here for good

if anyone in seattle area wants to meetup send me a dm

otherwise if you see a douchebag at the table usually wearing a blazer, using a rock as a card protector and often with a stegosaurus on the felt as his emotional support dinosaur hop over and say hi to "adam" - please not my internet name of rick don't want to explain to people at the felt that i post online 😀

Welcome to Seattle, Fortune had the best food, probably still does.

stopped by aces poker in lakewood for my customary post lure-coursing omaha.

got seated quickly, which is a rarity. Bought in a rack, bled off most of it, added on 1/2 rack. During this time the table ran 5-handed for a good period of time, then some people came in and the table was full. Then people left, then a sweet fish ripe for picking came in.

I had A8TT in the BB. New person came in, raised preflop on a kill, I call the $20 with a suited Ace.

Flop was J Q 9, giving me the bottom end of the straight. New person bet, I raised, he and another person calls. I figured I had blockers with TT.

Turn was air, new person bets, I raise, he calls. Heads up.

River is a K, giving me broadway. New person bets $20, I raise, he calls. He shows JJ (flopped set), mucks and then leaves to take a 1/3 seat. Prior to leaving he was talking something about catching up despite me out flopping him. No biggie, I appreciated the $$$.

I'm now + $75 after being stuck a benjamin. Thank the poker gods for sending the sharks a tasty fish who raised preflop in a 10/20 kill with JJxx.

so far i've played at

silver dollar renton - terrible, very glad it got closed
half the players were dealers off the clock which is fine normally but there were all super unprofessional, doing lots of things that straddled the line like showing cards to the other dealers, folding rags preflop and then screaming out loud when there's a 337 flop and they yell they would have hit a full shouse, there was definitely had some very open collusion happening in the $120 daily where guys were actively coaching each other whether to call or fold to my raises based on icm etc - was very clear these guys were all buddies and wanted me to bust before any of them

there was one old man who never got his bet amount correct when calling and somehow ran so lopsided that the mistake was always in his favor where he put in less than was needed but oddly never made that mistake when betting as well - i point out to the dealer that we have an obvious pattern here and i'm sure he gets away with it a few times each day because they are so lax about it and so many dealers there were horrible and instead they threatened to kick me out if i didn't stop complaining about a reg who couldn't be angle shooting because... "he plays every day"

dealers never said or did anything at all to enforce anything

aces in caribbean casino - seems decent, like that you can buy in for 500 at 1-3 and can button straddle - only played about 10 hours there over 2-3 sessions - also love that you can call ahead to get a spot on the list - would be my go to place over fortune if i was in that area more often

fortune poker - very well run but don't like a lot of their rules, i know a bunch are wa state laws like no dead buttons and betting limits but it sucks not being able to buy in for more than 300 and can't drop any f bombs even when it's "wow this food is so ffing good" - i hate their rake being so high due to promo drop but it definitely brings the players in - however, it's so high that you can't justify playing during a non-high hand period because of that imo - even so, they have about 500k in excess promo funds each year hence the week long high hand every 15 min **** show they have in order to clear it out - don't forget they likely take 10-15% out as an admin fee too so it's not simply just circulating the money - also as limon mentions, stuff like that is bad for the economy, you see tables where half the players have $70 stacks and then win a $500 high hand and pocket the cash - they should definitely be giving that out as chips on the table like other places do, but then that could be against wa state regulations

hate that they won't let you call in to get on the list, won't call you when you are up (even if list is super long), but luckily can usually get seated in minutes

love that there's always a game going on 24/7

but management is a bunch of rtards - they could have brought in so much more rake during that 500 every 15 minutes week running higher stakes but instead insisting on mostly running 1-3 and 2-4 limit even though they had enough interest and people on lists waiting for larger stakes - i've seen that happen plenty of times in macau where they had similar limits on the amount of tables they could run and whenever they started getting a longer waiting list they did the smart thing and started closing down the lower limit tables and opening up new higher limit ones

aces in lynnwood - played once, one player was openly angle shooting every hand and dealers made no attempt to fix it, when i complained other players told me "that's caesar he always does that" as if that's an excuse and eventually i was the one who was told to let it be and leave it alone - otherwise, same rules as the other aces so i like those but unlike carribean casino, this one had homeless people hanging out and smoking something that was neither weed nor cigarettes right outside the entrance so will probably not go here unless logistics make it the obvious choice

great report RR!

the homeless incident at Aces Lynnhood was probably a one-time thing, I felt quite safe parking/playing there. The surrounding real estate is quite expensive, drive a couple blocks west on 220th past 99, its mostly million $$$ homes

Man I miss the Wednesday prime rib special at Fortune, i see its $14 now, a steal.

When did you go to Silver Dollar? I've never heard of a cardroom in Renton other than Fortune and its predecessor Diamond Lil's.

it's literally on the same street as fortune maybe 300 yards to the north

part of maverick like aces is and they're having tough times and shutting down a lot of places

never more than 1-4 tables running and sometimes nothing going on but it raked $1 less than fortune and had a terribad player pool

That's crazy. No wonder they had to shut down, hardly anyone knew they existed. Never saw them mentioned here before.

When did they close?

Just checked them out on the map. I have driven by there and seen the building many times, but I had no idea they had poker. Since the name is just called casino, I assumed they just had other games.

i think sometime in the last month or two, decided to pop on over recently and saw it was gone

when i played at aces lynnwood it came up and since they are all maverick the dealers there said none of the employees were told ahead of time, they found out it was closed by showing up to work and finding the doors locked
