There's a cool comparative giraffe here regarding how Gretzky vs Ovechkin get to their goals over games.

Gretzky starts petering out as he gets older, as you'd expect a human to do.

But cuz Ovi is a cyborg from the future, age is completely meaningless to him.

i read gretsky's autobiography and iirc there was an entire chapter dedicated to soap operas and how much the players loved watching them

Different times, the 80s. Not many options

All My Children-every day at noon-many times Drinks in hand-(really made it easy to strike up conversations with the sorority girls…Tad, Jenny, Blah blah,….)

Haven’t watched an episode since 1987 I don’t think

I'm guessing a lot of the early Oilers were coked up, so story checks out.

In other NHL news, the Canucks scored 3 goals in the final minute last night. That's never been done before.

So go without the goalie is the game plan going forward?

Really late news but I started Lent at 189 37.75". As I grow older it takes way more time to diet back down to 'normal.' I need to file for an extension.

dad got a bill for 11k today reduced to $50 through insurance, he'd be long dead if he didn't have a job that had such good private insurance

The priest gave 'ten commandments of Lent' back on Ash Wednesday. 7 was 'Don't be sarcastic.' I was like yeah that's going to happen.

I hereby proclaim that “chicken and lamb over rice”

Should be called “Chicky Chicky Lamb Lamb” or perhaps “CCLL” for short.

They must hate money too. Unless you're playing in a closet, they could make more with a 5th table.

Yep, time for cut cycle roast

Somewhere between 5g of fat and $5/lb.

I butchered a hand last night. You know those ones where they bug you on the drive home, and the next morning.

Couldn't get away from top 2 pair against someone who has shown up with hands in every pot. (I was OOP, KQ on QJ8ss9sKx, bet call, check call, check call - he had AJss).

Then reminded myself - ***** happens, move on, we learn.

Inspired by the cookery above, roast chicken now in the oven with potatoes and cauliflower cheese. The nuts.

But it’s the worst cut on the cow

Skirt steak would like a word. Tough, ludicrously easily overcooked, overpriced stew meat, imo.
