2025 WSOP!!
I know it’s early and normally I’m not excited about WSOP this soon after but dang it, I’m itching to go back already!
I
I (really highly) doubt cash is the most common form of payment, especially in absolute terms. Sure, for 1-3k BIs, there might still be a majority of peeps buying in with cash, but in 10k+ BIs and especially in SHR, I doubt many - if any... - still do in this day and age where apps are much more convenient. As an example, I used Luxon for my previous 2 series (EPT Prague and
I can’t speak for other venues/series. But there were well over 200k buy-ins to the WSOP last year. The vast majority of these were funded with cash, either directly, or with Tournament accounts. Maybe this will start to change this year if they go through with the no fees thing. But I doubt it. Most players don’t research this topic and come with cash, or prepared to use cash. And most players don’t concern themselves with traveling with too much cash because most players don’t enter that many events. The WSOP is by far primarily a rec series.
B/M casinos are cash or credit-line business. I don’t think that will change so long as cash exits.
Until they bring them back, you can mostly see the structure on the app itself. You can go to a tournament’s “Blinds” tab for much of the info. Then, you’d have to click the Target Event link to see the blinds of the other “days”. On day 1 of the tournament, the board of the event will show how many levels it will play through. But I don’t see this info on day 2 and so on.
I’m assuming GG wants us to use this as an alternative to a PDF file. I guess I’ll see if I get used to it later.
Cash registration will never go away, especially with regs playing low to mid-stake tournaments, because of one main reason. Many players want to keep their buy-ins off the record so their significant others can't see how much they spent at the Series. They'd rather wait two hours in a long registration line than tell their honey "I spent $1k on this tournament."
I bought in for a number of events on the app using a debit card, and it seems like a positive change so far
- no fees charged
- for multi-flight events it looks like the 'ticket' that you purchase can be used to register for any flight you want. Registration can't be done until in-person verification
- very easy to see all the tickets you have bought, total value, and what flights they can be used for
- ticket refund option clearly visible and looks straightforward, though I haven't used it
Only annoyance was having to re-enter card details each time, but that's probably safer than them being saved in the app
Are there direct satellites to Milly Maker, if yes, can you share any info on them? Cheers
Also, does wsop.com run satellites to events like Milly Maker? By the looks of it GG only has satellites to main.
Bro you don't even play at the WSOP and you're commenting from your basement. Please please keep quiet about stuff you have no idea about. You're really spreading what basically amounts of fake news.
Bro, when you start your own forum website, you can control what is posted there.
You haven’t offered a shred of evidence to contradict anything I’ve said. Frankly, all you do is hurl insults. Please stop harassing me.

I'm not aware of live satellites to the $1.5ks, but they run a 10 PM $135 and 3 PM $240 daily mega satellite to win $1k and $2k in tournament entries respectively.

Sorry if not the right thread for this, but I'm surprised this has not been discussed yet.
5 new rule changes for WSOP
1. RULE 16 - if you are not in your set at beginning of level following first scheduled break, your chips are removed and your buyin is refunded.
2. Electronic devices are completely banned at final 3 tables of any WSOP tourney. One exception is if you are playing online bracelet event on WSOP.com. This also includes RULE 64F - must have official media credentials to do any type of continuous filming or streaming during tourney. One exception is you can record your all in moment once all action has completed.
3. RULE 18 - WSOP can bar competitors for cheating or abusive behavior.
4. RULE 85 - redraws for button rules.
5. RULE 116 - players are not allowed to discuss strategy with anyone at ant time while tournament clock is running and players are not on break.
I don't mind any of these changes, I really don't see any of them impacting me or the vast majority of players.
1 - Fine. I'm not sure why someone would register for an event and want to get blinded off for the first 2 hours anyway. If you're going to be that late, wouldn't you have waited to register so you don't lose those chips? Seems silly to lose 2 hours worth of blinds for no reason.
2 - I've yet to make the final 3 tables of a WSOP event. When I finally do, I'll be totally fine with not having my phone with me. I've also never wanted to do a live vlog at the poker table, so no big deal.
3 - Good. Is this really new? They couldn't ban players before?
4 - Whatever, I can't say I've ever cared where the button started for the beginning of a tournament.
5 - I don't have a coach with me at the WSOP. I can only dream of making a FT and having a rail where this would ever be a concern.
"Change Poker Forever" seems like massive hyperbole for these rules changes. Only the small handful of vloggers will really be negatively impacted by these in any meaningful way.

Don't gush too much. It might jinx you. Wait to see if you can get the money when you get there.
5. RULE 116 - players are not allowed to discuss strategy with anyone at ant time while tournament clock is running and players are not on break.
Basically unenforceable. Players are going to walk over to their rail and jabber away in a foreign language. If they get any flak they'll say they were discussing the weather. "English only at the table".
3. RULE 18 - WSOP can bar competitors for cheating or abusive behavior.
I foresee another attempt by the high roller regs to squeeze Kabrhel out of the ecosystem.

LOL, the cage part went seamless last year - the approval and lack of communication and feedback of an approval was the problem for me.
Even that wasn't too bad once I got a Credit Manager involved and learned what the hold up was (my bank doesn't automatically confirm Cashiers Checks when called due to privacy concerns). So its check in and get verified for the WSOP+ app and hit the WSOP cage and I should be set....... at least until I run out of money :shocked::shocked:

Not only that but if I’m watching my brother scoop a big pot deep in a tournament and I cheer and say “Keep it up!” Or “keep doing what you’re doing!”, some can argue that’s “coaching” or talking strategy.
This whole rule is dumb. Unenforceable and dumb.

Agree 100%, not only that, but one can tell that they went way too far with that one, overcompensating for that huge mistake they made last year during the main event final table
I'm trying to find the details for WSOP Event #3: $5,000 Eight Handed No-Limit Hold'em
Is there anywhere that has a proper breakdown of how many days it is? I see it starts on May 28. Just trying to reconcile how long I might be there if I go deep.
Thanks
Thanks!
BTW, it will be interesting if electronic transactions become the norm. If they do, I imagine cash payouts will become rare, and perhaps even be eliminated as well. I wouldn’t personally mind, but I’m guessing there are some players who prefer the cash route.
Although GG may be running the event, I figure Caesars will push for the continued use of cash, which would spark more gambling in its casinos.
