Daniel Negreanu's very own containment thread. All things Danny go here
how bad must he be when a girl falls asleep while making out and snores right after?
life fish..... food arrived but didn
He's actually UP 600 K in the last 10 years, he is only down a million if you count the 1.5 he dusted off to Phil and Doug, which id argue shouldn't count
So he'd be broke and living on the streets without his sponsorship money.
What's hilarious to me is all the fans he dupes into buying his action, when he has no desire to turn a profit for himself or anyone else, he's just trying to chase bracelets, and using his fans to help fund it, while trying to sell it like he's doing them some sort of favor.

Just wondering..
If you were going to buy Daniels action, would you rather him tell you...
1) I am just chasing bracelets and will be going for the win or nothing
or
2) I'm going to nit it up in tight spots and will basically just be trying to cash before laddering up
Exactly, you don't buy these pieces of Daniel to make money, you buy for the fun of the sweat. Anything you get back is pure bonus.
Daniel's prices for pieces of him are fair imo. Im seeing **** regs selling for 1.1 on the regular for pieces in tournaments they have no business playing and somehow they always seem to sell out.
Worst this year for me was some lady on insta who is maybe a winning player in 100 dollar tourneys live (losing all stakes online) I saw selling main event % for 1.2 markup and sold out in a day. People are absolutely clueless when it comes to buying pieces if they see someone had a few good scores over the last few years and a nice number on hendon.
If Daniel wanted to take advantage of his clueless followers he could sell for 1.2+ easily but he doesnt. His buyers are getting a worse deal than they would otherwise because he self professes to not care about ICM and more about wins, but hes also very transparent about the fact.
Even if Dnegs isn't charging markup, doesn't StakeKings then charge a fee the backer pays instead of it coming out of Dnegs cut?
And if I told you that you could back someone that is likely to wind up negative for the series at no markup, would you?
I get the reason why people do it, they follow him, they like the sweat. But even with no markup AND even if Stakekings charged no fees, it seems like a losing investment.

The middle question is the wrong one to be asking. Itβs all about EV in general and specifically an EV based on a utility curve
Even though its a losing investment you cant blame DNegs here. He obviously wont sell for negative mark up so hes giving buyers the best possible price.

Pokerstake doesn't charge any fees last I looked, stakekings does though.
House guest Andy is mentioned in today's vlog, and Amanda seemed very tired from taking care of the dogs. Daniel stayed at the venue all week, even though at least once he was done by 10ish.
Dnegs is definitely a winner in the mixed game tournaments. He won the $50K PPC last year.
On his VLOG, he was talking about how some high stakes pros don't appreciate him doing his VLOG. Anyone know who he is referring to?

It's not an investment is what they are saying (and most of his fans know this), it's like a lotto ticket or playing slots your paying for the sweat/entertainment factor of the endeavor.
Jesus, bitching about his staking agreements he puts on for his fans? Hes selling at 1:1? Well that seems pretty reasonable to me. Personally, id rather him go for win if.
As mentioned, its more for fun. Bit honestly, I think thats a fine price in high stakes mixed tournaments. Hes obviously experienced at those games-maybe more so than most of the field.
1st of 32, 18 places paying in $10K limit holdem. He is always in the leaders in these tournaments. Pretty good for an amateur.
He's a strong mixed game player and his skillset would do him well in large-field lower buy-in events filled with droolers giving off all the tells (hold em, plo) if he would play more of them and had the patience, rather than just clicking buttons beca
More than anything he just wants to win bracelets..I think. Huge field low buyin NLHE even if he has a much bigger edge are still going to be harder to win. And he doesn't care about the EV since it's fairly irrelevant to his bottom line at this point.

I mean, just watch his content and most of them look irritated when he has his camera out and he's hamming it up.
That being said, a lot of those high stakes crushers are just misregs, so fack em.
10th of 24 in $250K, 10 places paying. I think one bullet.
Now 2nd of 22 into dinner break. A 4! and a 3! were not called.
Negreanu / Kabrhel at the same table is going to make for fun viewing
He went full narcissist when he mentioned the lack of gratitude from the field in the 250k. He thinks the poker boom happened because he and others at the time were personalities. In my eyes the poker boom happened because of the hole card cam, he and others were just at the right place at the right time. Tbf, he was a top player at the time, but, only because of the hold card cam, did that count for something.
Jams 8bb A9 off from bb when foxen opens utg+1 9 handed hahahaha. What a fukn fish
Yeah that was a bad jam
