It seems like there's a lot of conflict and unhappiness in the world these days. It gets me down. One of the few things
Welp, looks like we might have a new cat. This little guy showed up on the porch looking lost last week, but ran away when we opened the door. At the time he was wearing a collar.
He can back by yesterday, and was a lot braver (or hungrier). I lured him onto the catio with some food. The collar is now missing. Took him to the Humane Society and no chip. :( Posted about him on Nextdoor both last week and yesterday, and no replies so far.

congrats on being adopted Garick
Yeah, I'm sure. I recognize the wear spots where he's been overgrooming due to fleas, stress, or both. Also, even though the collar is missing, the neck fur is still crushed down in the shape of a collar.
There are a ton of tuxedo cats in the neighborhood, though. Some of them can only be distinguished by the markings on thier feet/legs.
Owners found. Bittersweet, but mostly sweet.
That's good. I was gonna say you should tag him to verify it's the same cat
👍
awesome result
may all lost pets end up in friendly hands such as your kind
the doggy day care place where we inject Niko with $40 eight hour time outs is directly adjacent to this quirky little neighborhood intersection between gas, tabacco, pot, fitness, sushi, and pub
imagine a place of signs having starbuck and subway colr shadows
picked her up yesterday after heaven forbid only allowing a four hour binge and she crankilly let us know before getting in the car she is not happy with her k9 heroine situation
immediate turtle pull the neck back stance and damn near slipped her collar in the parking lot next to a freeway onramp
suggest you all check your pet tourniquet buckles folks

She sounds like the soulmate of my rescue mini schnauzer mix. He loves nothing more than day camp/boarding, but he doesn't get to go as often as he used to and he lets me know his dissatisfaction about that.
In addition he pulled that collar shucking move almost immediately when we got him. I'm guessing that is how he became a rescue. After he shucked a couple of collars while leashed, we tried harnesses with a few different designs. Child's play for him. If he were human, he'd be a successful safecracker.
With some trepidation I settled on a martingale collar which he didn't decipher. I've been through a few versions with him and am happy with the current choice despite the blanket cautions against them. I do change him to a standard collar when he goes to doggy day care, but I admit being nervous with even the short transfers in/out while he's wearing the standard collar. I'm convinced that he would have been long gone without a martingale collar. I wouldn't recommend one to just anyone, but for a recidivist escapee ...
sometimes it may be wise to not question the universe
Me neither. You obviously need to buy her a bigger couch!
Not sleeping! Totally on guard, ready to go. Just resting eyes.
and now my heart will be smiling for the rest of our beats together tonight
or at least until i doze off scratching my own belly to sleep
he seems to be a very kind lad
so wish we could somehow fabricate a coast to coast Niko & Dozer introduction
must be some sort of dog park close to Hastings Nebraska
OLD GUYS RULE!
