The British (with American help) deposed him for threatening their oil business, but he was already dismantling the democracy to consolidate his own power. So framing him as a champion of democracy isn't really accurate.
It was more the Americans with British help, but the CIA probably didn't do as much as they later claimed and the coup was actually carried out by Iranians opposed to Mosaddegh, not least because he stopped the election before the count was finished. (He thought he wouldn't win if the remaining constituencies were counted.)

I never said anything about reforming Iran and certainly never expressed support for the Shah. You've some neck accusing others of dishonesty while blatantly lying your tankie ass off.
I am one of the only people on this board who actually assesses his opinions based on new information and engages in self criticism in an effort to determine better ideas.

The major socialist endeavors of the last century ended up collapsing into actual dictatorships or near enough along with clamping down on personal liberty, committing genocide, imperialism, ethnic cleansing, etc. So if we apply your logic how could anyone who adheres to your principles support socialism?

I don't think enough is made of the fact that it is humiliating for a country to accept being told that they should accept a restriction that applies to nobody else. I believe that this plays as large a part as whatever is going on with Israel.

Bernie is quite a bit to the right of me and presumably Victor as well. I supported him (dunno if Vic did) in his POTUS runs as he was far closer to my ideology than the other Democrats and he seems genuinely concerned with improving the welfare of our citizens (no coincidence that he's been politically active for like 50 years straight or whatever).
Most of his supporters weren't people who saw eye-to-eye with him on everything, we just recognized he was literally the only major party candidate truly working for the interests of the average Joe. Many of us have recognized for many years that he's bad on Israel and bad in terms of propping up the rotten Democratic Party (same with AOC).
Put Bernie in the average developed nation and he's a normal left-liberal.
