Israel / Iran thread
Seems like this conflict is not going to end anytime soon and is worthy of its own thread.
I yearn for the mountains, but when it comes to remote work, my firm doesn't agree with that lifestyle.
In other news, I narrowly avoided a collision this morning with yet another blacked-out hooptie without license plates running a red light on Center St. Stay classy, Milwaukee.
Oh, I'm sure they're all heroes of their own universe. They live in ours, though. Please behave like it.
I know it's a very tiny portion of society that acts like animals. The issue is that in the modern world, they can easily find each other to group up and have a wide reach.
Redditors just finished bullying some poor woman running an animal rescue into committing suicide because she wasn't doing it to their satisfaction or something. Those people probably also thought they were doing the "right" thing.
Stay off the freeway, please.

I'm shocked that more people don't smash into freeway blockers.
Here is a great video to know what your rights are if you are surrounded by a mob of thugs.
Has anyone started a GoFundMe yet for all the freeway-sitters in America to be given plane tickets to protest civil rights on Iranian freeways instead? At least those "March to Palestine" people who were stopped by the Egyptians at the border put their money where their mouths were.Protesting human rights and progressive ideals in America has long since hit the point of severely
They don't care about making a difference. Most don't even know what they are protesting. These people just love to get out and scream and yell and burn things down. When is the last time a protest/riot changed anything? Meanwhile our law enforcement has to be there to protect the good citizens of this country and their property. Go volunteer at a homeless shelter instead of wasting time chanting woke slogans.
Non violent protests are a core element of free societies and you should be happy when they happen even if you disagree with the topic they protest about. It's better than apathy anyway.
Ofc non-violent includes violence against property which includes blocking bridges, roads, traintracks and so on.

I am not gonna watch a video to get legal information in general, but a very relevant point about that topic in the USA is that those rights might differe A LOT depending on the state so be extra careful you know very well what the rules are in the specific state you are at the time before doing something that could otherwise ruin your life forever.
Why haven’t more of the so called “pro-jewish voices” done a better job at standing up to dunyains insane assertions? They represent like 0.02% of Americans.
Dunyain is a knowledge poster but I do agree I think his characterization here is a bit broad and unfair. However, it’s a bit rich for you to say this when posters like Victor and Jalfrezi have been continuously spouting false information for 2 years with virtually no pushback.
People might just have them on ignore though.

It is funny that most of these protestors would balk at the idea of volunteering at a food kitchen. Someone needs to let them know they can still get great shots for their Instagram.

Oh! It's our right. It's our freedom. Blah! Blah! Blah!
Why is it only the creeps of society who go to protests? Why are these people so angry about everything?

I don't go anywhere near protests and they will never be allowed in my neighborhood.

It's not necessarily only the creeps. It's the creeps often, these days, because life is very good for people who aren't creeps to begin with so they don't protest.
But when there are real problems, normal, decent people can protest, and you want to preserve that.
Western leftists are also ambivalent at best about the Iranian regime. It was never a foreground issue and really only gets talked about briefly when they murder a girl for showing her hair.
Israel can exist perfectly fine without US support. You may not like that, but itβs true.
I know you're not much for making actual arguments, but could you provide some reasoning for how this will be possible?
If by far the most pro-Israel country shifts despite millions of American-style Protestants thinking the US Gov is fulfilling a Biblical prophecy by supporting them, who is going to step up and take their place? Secular left European social democracies? China? Russia?
I'm very curious to hear your thoughts.
If israel can exist perfectly fine without usa support then iran could not possibly be a nuclear threat to Israel

The USA’s contribution to Israel only constitutes 10% of their defense budget and they have been aware of the possibility of waning US support for some time. Netanyahu himself has expressed the need to wean off American support.
Maybe you’re high off whatever propaganda you’ve been huffing but Israel isn’t going to disappear because gen Z Americans stop liking it.
It’s hard to argue with people who don’t present coherent arguments. You’ve posted the same sentiment over and over, been told why you’re wrong yet you’re still here saying the same thing.
Israel just decimated Iran on its own. Trump got to fly some planes in and make a tweet but it was Israel that systematically took down the “Axis of Resistance”. If you go outside once in a while you’ll see no one in the real world is losing any sleep over Iran’s demise.

I mean he might eventually maybe be right, maybe in 2040 or 2060 or whenever the USA will drop any support starting with the use of veto powers to stop UN actions against Israel.
if that happens it will be a bigger problem for Israel that you imply here imo.
but I am not sure what the point of discussing this possibility is
