I mean, I guess that makes sense. The goal of AI, in actual practical application in today's climate, is for it to mirror whichever elite's talking points that controls it and not get it to learn to process all information and give unbiased information... or at least it will be that in the future.

Data poisoning, a form of so-called "adversarial machine learning", used to trick AIs with manipulated or fake data is already a well established thing that happens at large scale.

It can be used to make AI security systems unreliable or make them ignore vulnerabilities, outright sabotage, or of course to spread propaganda or specific ideologies.

The best known example is an operation done by Pravda, a Russian propaganda network. Th..., and their efforts have already influenced most of the leading LLMs. These efforts are in part linked to former American police officer John Mark Dougan, who currently works pretty much as a pro... and has been linked to hundreds of fake news websites. Somewhat ironically, these days most of this information is probably written by AI.

Yeah, Musk's take is just stupid. "Chatbots" are pretty weak to biases in datasets as it is. So whatever flaws exist in "human knowledge" aren't going to be fixed by AI. If anything, it will strengthen those flaws as more and more information is published by AI and that information will contain the already present errors. This isn't going to be fixed by a few politically motivated individuals gaming the data.
