I think cash game rake probably gets them to even on the tournament overlays. It is better for a casino to have as many options as possible so customers don't leave your website. They don't care about poker overall. Any site that has slots isn't worried about poker. Same with brick and mortar casinos. Poker is just an option and not a money maker unless you are throwing a massive tournament series like WSOP and raking your customers to death lol

I'm from NY so can't see the tables but I'm moving next month and am wondering what higher "middle" stakes plo games run regularly? I think I remember they had $2.50/$5 plo, like a game or 2 for most hours on a daily basis but it could've been $1.50/$3? Or, maybe it was $2/$4 and my memory is wrong with this .50c jazz... I guess I'll ask although a ways away, but is they're $5/$10 plo? Pretty sure they had $5/$10nl pretty regularly..

know a guy who quit a ~65k a year job with benefits about a month ago to try and write 100 envelopes a day to clubwptgold. not the most forward thinking bunch if you ask me.

Writing 100 a day would be quite a chore. That's probably 5-6 hours of mind numbing repetition and hand cramps with minimal breaks, or 8-10 hours per day with some down time. This does not account for actually collecting the codes that must be added to the cards.

But, if one did this let's say 6 days a week (church on Sunday), that's 100 x $2 x 6 = $1200 added to your WPT Gold account each week right! Unfortunately no. Deduct $468 for postage, so you're clearing $732 per week before taxes. With two weeks for vacation, that's a cool....$36,600 annually.

Until they realize some sponge is sending in that many and they shadow ban them or greatly delay any crediting of the account. But, anything except going to work at a real job I guess.

I'm in a spot where it's worth it. Not really close to anyone in my life and if it stops for whatever reason I'd just move back or do something else it's worth the gamble imo. I moved to Orlando to grind gold from ny and it was a disaster but hoping to run good on this try.

How much are you planning to write in per day doing this? How much are u planning to make after expenses?

To be clear - that is targeting Stake not Global/VGW, but if it's successful then it's only a matter of time.

I'd say anywhere between a week (Sept 12 vote) to end of 2025 for California. Could possibly be more time and nobody really knows but if I were to put an over/under on online poker in unregulated sites being playable for any significant money it'd be 6 months, maybe? And I'd be betting the under.

Between a growing number of States banning the sweepstakes model and the recent multi-state AG letter pushing to take action against offshore sites it definitely looks like we are headed in to a dark age of online poker in unregulated states... :(

Is Texas and Florida ok to play? How are the games on Global Poker guys? Do they have any quality 2/5 games on there? I'm a PLO player but I can also play NL.

Also, a question for tax planning for 2026: There is a 90% cap on deduction of losses. Since this is an American site, does anybody know how that's gonna work if this bill passes?
