New fast food discussion/review thread
OK OOT, it's been a while since we had a devoted fast food thread around here and I think it's time we had a new one.
In
Holy cow, undercooked/light fry fries at InO is a massive upgrade. The weird wooden/dryness texture was almost eliminated. I mean, they're still bottom-25% fast food fries, but for the first time I found them actually at least kinda enjoyable without being animal style. Excellent idea, ty for the tip.

Yeah nothing wrong with the regular bun. I'll tell you the spicy fillet (which seemed even different from a regular spicy, maybe because pairing it with cheddar <<<<< colby jack) did NOT pair with the bacon at all. The bacon was meh itself also.
Maybe when I have some downtime on Sunday I'll hit up support. It really was a joke of a sandwich.
I see Taco Bell brought back the chili cheese burrito.
That use to be a standard add on for me.
They tasted a lot better when I only got them every couple months. Now, not so much. Plus, I recently got chili Wienerdogs, which are far superior.

And yes, it’s a very dominant flavor that should be acutely applied with care.

As a sporadic JITB customer since 1996ish it's a next-to last choice if a choice was possible
The app can sometimes have good deals; their free any fries Fridays is a sick deal. The two for $1.xx tacos are their iconic cheapass dish. The ultimate cheeze was my favorite, but I'd never pay sticker for one
I still like the LTO Bonus Jack.
Also their version of grown-up food, rare in fast food joints, the teriyaki chicken bowl.
Bacon ultimate used to be really good like 15-20 years ago. Probably my go to back then when I wanted a big burger and no combo for lunch. Jitb definitely started to cheap out on it over the years. 😡
The Ram's have a deal with Carl's Jr to give out free Famous Stars every week the Ram's get an interception. Well this week they changed the deal to "with purchase of a large drink"
Ugh. That cup of sugar water is $4!
Round 2 at JitB was much better. I got a bacon double smash and it was a greasy as hell trip to flavor town. $10 pretty steep though, I think?
I have contacted CFA support:
"The Pretzel Bun itself was devoid of any authentic pretzel flavor. I've had great pretzel buns before, and they had an authentic pretzel flavor. This bun from CFA did not add anything to the sandwich, despite costing more. The bacon was not tasty at all; perhaps it wasn't cooked properly. The chicken itself tasted "off", and the spice was quite different from a normal CFA spicy sandwich.
Furthermore, the two Dijon mustard packets were impossible to tear open with my fingers. I ate this on the go and had no access to scissors. So I couldn't even enjoy my clearly subpar sandwich with the Dijon mustard! Maybe that would have made it barely mediocre. I expected something great from CFA that day, and I left unsatisfied, with a stomachache from the weird spice and taste of the chicken sandwich. This experience has made me, a devoted CFA customer, reluctant to return to CFA ever again."

Yes, it’s an LTO. However, some TB locations have always had it.
I am yet to hear back from CFA customer support.
I will let you know what they offer me as compensation, to which I am saying in reply that it is not enough.
