Cooking a Good Everything Else
Thought I'd take El D's advice and create another thread for cooking discussion, as steak is wonderful, but pork, meatba
hell yes it's chili season by george! need some fresh jalas on there to go with your pickled ones if that floats your boat.
I appreciate the no bowl wipe, this is a cooking thread not a Michelin star thread. I'm an unrepentant drunken/messy plate photographer.
Hard to get fresh jalapeno where I'm at. But I should have added some raw onion and not just green onion too.
I've found for the chili peppers/tomato/red pepper air fryer works decent for blackening before skin peeling at least. Probably not as good as throwing on a gas burner but I'm cooking on induction most of the time.
And yeah my plating is always a bit messy.
just discovered a local place selling bulgolgi hoagies
what a fun phrase to pronounce immediately before stuffing your face with delicious sandwich

Brined chicken wings in pickled jalapeΓ±o juice. Highly recommend.
I mean if you like raw broccoli thats fine but i feel like I am taking crazy pills. that broccoli looks like it hasnt been touched by heat at all.
Broccoli is tossed with oil, garlic, salt and pepper, and roasted in the air fryer at 390 for 4 minutes. Try it
yeah that checks out. thats slightly warmed but raw broccoli tossed in oil, garlic and salt and pepper.
Which is cool I suppose.
No matter what, Red always makes me crave burgers.
must be the cheese π
Elite cheese game Red!
one of the most graceful punt returns in nfl history will be forever erased by an unfortunate sequence of holding while roughing the punter penalties
Lovely!
How did you prepare the kale? The only time I tried to cook it, I boiled it for 3 hours and it was still inedible.
Inedible how? If it was too bitter for you, a double (or triple) blanch does wonders with Kale.
If tough, did you strip out the ribs?

If you're using fresh kale, you have to strip it off the ribs--they will never become edible. In this case, I used frozen kale that I got at WalMart for 98 cents for 12 oz--it's in season right now and I can get it cheaper buying fresh, but I still had this in my freezer and wanted to use it up. With fresh you strip it off the ribs and then cut it small, it will wilt down in a stew (covered) in about10 minutes, in my experience.
nice chickpea twist VR
What's the difference between a garbanzo bean and a chickpea?
May try kale again with better preparation. Thanks for the tip.
I put kale in my smoothies, just throw the entire stalks in.
