2025 Formula 1 Season
2025 Formula 1 discussion thread...
A double win for Oscar this weekend and maybe a couple of thirds or below for Lando would set things up extremely nicely
That sprint was just about the most boring f1 event of the year
Fantastic to see Oscar performing like this once again.
First corner shenanigans a possibility tonight!
@McLaren Outside of the bedroom, flexibility is overrated.
Not a great race at not a great circuit, but juicy developments for the season finale
Another McLaren dropping of the ball
Anyone feel there were some light shenanigans going on there?
First Alonso backs up the entire field, making sure both Oscar and Lando can get out of the pits just ahead of him. If not for this, it's very likely both would have been caught in much worse traffic.
Then Kimi goes wide and gifts Lando an absolutely critical 2 pts that now allows Lando to title with 3rd next week instead of 2nd.
yep, I couldn't really understand what they meant with flexibility and I still can't.
25/25/7 is probably an optimal split, safety car or not
My impression was, they were coming from the standpoint that the entire rest of the field was now locked in to pitting again on lap 32 for hard tires, full stop.
McLaren, on the other hand, had the "flexibility" to split up the remaining laps as they saw fit (while abiding by the 25 lap max per tire). So they could do a 25/25/7, or they could do a 20/20/17, or 22/25/10, etc. And if they did a 25/25/7, they could do a soft for the last 7 and drive it like they stole it at the end.
Obviously, Max was able to outdrive their flexibility, and based on his ability to stay relatively close for the first 6 laps before the safety car, it should have been clear that spotting Max an extra pit stop, and expecting the McLaren drivers to find an extra 26 seconds on track wasn't going to happen.
Not that I'm complaining at all.

Yes to both. Team radio for both teams should be reviewed. Probably some itch scratching suggestions from the team to the driver.
really sucked for Oscar tbh. Two poles, a Sprint win and was totally in control of the GP w Lando in 3rd

That one was pure mistake, rookie on old tires being chased by max Pace Mclaren Lando... Can't really blame Kimi.
Also haven't Alonso had this situation many times in 2025 when there is a DRS train behind him due to Aston Martin pace and not being able to overtake
Hungary 2025

This is the kind of poison that spreads on social media and leads to abuse of the people that are concerned.
Be smarter.
Alonso was just slow, Kimi made an error. That's it.
Hadjar at least has the possibility to drive the first version of the new RB, before it is made faster for Max ( and undrivable for the other drivers)
If Lando does not win the WDC this weekend, it will be a 2021-like soulcrushing experience for him. He doesnt really deserve that IMO. He may not be the best driver on the grid, but Lando+McLaren were the best package this year.

McLaren treated Lando better than Oscar. That's what I feel, especially after the summer break.

I kinda disagree. Piastri + McLaren were the best package imo
norris wins this if they can tell piastri to drive for him tomorrow

Norris wins this is noting crazy happens.
Very annoyed by Redbull, Tsunoda has his last race and he didn't even put a lap in Q3...
