President Donald Trump
I assume it's still acceptable to have a Trump thread in a Politics forum?
So this is an obvious lie - basically aimed at
It could have been a lot worse. Imagine if Hegseth was a DEI hire.
Instead of a DUI hire
right, I forgot. whataboutism is pointing out how depraved and murderous the Dems or the USA is.
Victor, I don't know what to tell you. My question very sincerely had nothing to do with defending the U.S. bombing of those boats. I was moving to a different topic mainly because I didn't have anything more to add to my comments about why I thought the boat bombings were bad. If others, including you, feel like they have more to say on the topic of the boats (or U.S. policy generally), by all means continue.
I was assuming we could discuss more than one thing at a time, but I guess you don't want to answer my question, which of course is up to you.
drugs have been fully legal for far more of human history than they've been illegal - things were finethis includes the usa too where we really didn't outlaw any drugs until 1909 at the earliest and didn't enforce it with gusto until post wwiiopiates and stimulants like cocaine were over the counter in the past, we had opium dens in cities like sf and nyc until until the 1950s
I'm fairly open minded about drug legalization but this is a very poor argument imo. Even you believe that a complete lack of regulation was appropriate 75, 100, 200, or 1000 years ago, that doesn't inexorably lead to the conclusion that it would be the best policy now.
Victor refusing to answer the question speaks volumes.
Most drugs should be legalized.
Don't push Victor to reply to things...

where I live or desire to live has no bearing on criticisms of the murderous US Empire. deep down, you guys know that I am right and you have no refutations so your only tactic is to try to make it personal.

We often *do* recognize that you’re right, at least I do, but you continue to hammer down with misanthropic fury as if no one is paying attention to you. You think that someone not responding to your 25th reminder that drone strikes are bad is somehow condoning said strikes.
I think we can also recognize that you won’t be content with any system under any flag, and your preferred mode of existence is constant criticism without any entertainment of possible solutions. It’s a distinction of idealism vs realism, and you continually refuse to acknowledge the latter without complete adherence to the former. I know that you don’t believe in the word nuance, but it still exists with or without your acknowledgment.
You remind me a lot of Nut Nut in some ways. I previously posted this in one of his threads, but it could also apply to you:
Edit: Additionally, your musings on Soviet supremacy come across as pure edgelord contrarianism and I always assume you’re speaking tongue-in-cheek. If you aren’t, then you shouldn’t be surprised when you’re not taken seriously.

I wasn't asking where you live now. I assume that you live in the U.S. (although I don't know that to be the case), but I wasn't trying to build an argument that you are a hypocrite for living in the U.S. at the same time you are highly critical of the government. Relocating to another country is difficult, no matter what you think of your country's government. I don't know your specific situation, but people have parents, wives, kids, friends, jobs, health conditions, language barriers, inability to meet the financial requirements for permanent residency in another country, etc.
I admit that I am skeptical that there is a government anywhere in the world of which you would approve, but that's a different issue, and that's why I asked which country you would be most proud (or least unproud) to call home. If you don't want to answer the question, you can just say so. That's fine. This isn't a deposition. But quit pretending like this is whataboutism. No is asking you to quit criticizing the U.S. government.
Surely spending a billion dollar per month on a naval battle-group to stop a small drug smuggling boat per week, utilizing a tactic that destroys evidence, witnesses and intelligence so nobody can tell mistake from success is money well spent.
Also, people shouldn't forget the likely half-chubby your Secretary of War gets when he orders the killing of sailors in distress, nor the full erection it later develops to when he can brag about it on social media to his adoring fans. That's surely worth something too.

if you are asking which countries are the least bad then I can answer that. as Trolly said, I am old and not able to leave this place and as you said, moving is difficult even if I were willing to give up my Western blood drenched privileges.
most moral countries? Cuba, Yemen, Venezuela, North Korea.

Can't be serious.
I’m not sure what victor’s endgame is but I admit to being curious
I am just going by any objective measure of harm caused.
