Sure you can. Wass was almost as short as Benny. $184K pay jump, he's not 3! folding 22% of his stack oop.As for the slow roll

Lol yes every time a high roller pro 3b they call it off.

I didn’t say every time.

Wine cheat code from Daniel https://x.com/PokerGO/status/20026023369...

always stuns me how awful tourney regs are lol (not talking about dnegs)

Technically, it is exploitable to only be 3-betting value hands that will call allins when 3-betting 22% of your stack. Then everyone can fold to your 3-bets and you don't get much action for QQ+.

I am not sure how high stake live tournaments play short stacked these days. Would someone just 3! shove AQ/TT, etc. for 22 or so BBs? Then 3! normally for 22% of his stack with QQ+ and no bluffs? Then of course it would be best to fold anything but extreme premium hands to a short stack 3!. Or maybe 3!/gii with AJs+/99+ with no 3! folds?

You can probably exploitatively fold AQ there against most regs in a big live final table. Almost 0 people are balanced with their range there imo. Its either "nit it up for pay jumps so Im never going to 3b/fold off 22bb" or its someone like Adamo or Ponakovs who will take a ton of Ax to bluff raise. These are the people you "have to" 4b jam AQo against. Wasserson strikes me as an ABC nit reg. AQo vs him in that spot is a punt.

I thought the commentary was kinda lulzy but what do I know. I’d love a throwback day at the ME where the announcers don’t know the hole cards til after the hand.

How often are we going to be in this situation when the next elimination pay jump at a full FT is over $100K?

Nit: Benny was the shortest stack but he had about nine orbits left after posting the BBA.

Ironically ntm hindsightedly, had he folded, there was a good chance the other guy would’ve busted Wass.

Another thing to consider is he probably was the best player left; certainly much better than at least 4 or 5 anyway.

Also to clarify: Wass 3! from the SB to 5.5bb which was 22% of his stack. Ten-handed, $184K pay jump.

Yeah, I get it. A short stack wouldn't 3! bluff on the final table bubble.

Glaser is one of the best mixed game players. Not sure if he plays that many NLHE tournaments.

Just a final observation, we’ve sure seen a ton of hero river folds and hero preflop calls/shoves in huge spots lately.

Jams 8bb A9 off from bb when foxen opens utg+1 9 handed hahahaha. What a fukn fish

we should see how long you would last in a $250k. would be hilarious seeing you punt every hand you play lol

Put me in coach let's find out

i don't know if i can watch more episodes. it is just so cringe. it's like watching the nerd that's finally been able to hang out with the "cool guys" in high school. i really want to like Daniel, but it is ****ing difficult.

Is Danny at WSOPE ?

No

by NickMPK m

No

Why?

by NWAF99 m

Why?

He’s taking a break from poker to concentrate on golf.

by NWAF99 m

Why?

His sponsors finally realized they're just wasting money sending him to battle euros in high rollers

Vlog is back!

Congrats Daniel and Amanda. Baby boy on the way.

Congrats on becoming a dad yr Biggest score in life, ever!!

I dunno. If i had an endless revenue stream to play poker, travel, and buy mostly what I wanted all while being 50 years old? It sounds pretty ****ing terrible.

But thats just me.

But thats just me.

But...he's had and done that for like 20+ years. He clearly still loves playing poker, he's been open quite a few times about being tired of travelling, and every year's vlog he is more and more direct about "I like being at home with the wife and dogs and playing golf more than anything".

You're right that for some people, you'd say "20+ years? Sign me up for another 20!", but it's also a real thing to live the life he's lived, reach 50, and wonder what the purpose of it all was and want something more "real". It's also not like they won't have all the help and support necessary - it won't be like they're struggling to buy diapers and he won't play golf for the next 10 years.

Nothing but the best for them and their decision.

This kid is going to become a trainwreck in about 16-25 years.

100% this. I think living that kind of life is also much more fun/appealing at 30. He has been sponsored and setup financially for quite some time, but its quite a bit different when you need to play to make money as opposed to wanting to play because you enjoy it.

I don't know his financial situation but its probably safe to say financially he never needs to make another dollar in his life and he would have plenty of money.

Its also a lot easier to grind 12hrs of poker a day at 30 vs 50.
Poker has always been a hobby for me, I don't think it would have ever worked for me (ignoring skill) as a "Job", would have taken the fun out of it for me at least.

Also, don't underestimate the fact that neither he nor Amanda are going to actually be the primary care giver. I challenge anyone to assert otherwise, lol.

I don't begrudge them. Far from it. They get to do something that's foundationally fulfilling to them AND likely continue to live the way they have up until now. More power to them.

The importance of Daniel's relationship with both of his parents (especially his mother) is fairly well documented.... so, congrats to them both... and I hope everything goes smoothly and it brings them plenty of joy.

I wonder if this will be the last year we get a wsop vlog from Daniel
