Mini-Walrus
I don't know who invented Walrus. IBD gave it CPR recently.
Feed me good music to win.

How you feel about ambient post-blackened metal still unclear but I'm pretty sure it will be made clear early.
I kinda randomly submitted this category, but I did research it. hadn't heard any 2025 songs lol
I ended up going with one just cuz I like a tweet the artist posted. but the song was also better than the other garbage that told me the world was passing me by. our time is gone! we are too old!

I am going to guess Bob Vylan.
I had also not listened to any 2025 music this year that I know if. I went through my wife's youtube music account and picked the first one I found from 2025. I did listen to it, but there was never going to be any changing it.
Never heard of over half of that list.
Of the ones I do know:
- Wrong Olivia Dean song (though this is pretty good)
- Definitely the wrong Chappell Roan song (The Giver sucks, The Subway is so much better)
- Nokia sucks (just because it's in the upper tier of Drake songs doesn't make it good)
- Ordinary? Are you ****ing kidding me?
Let's do this:
4) A song from 2025
A lot of people groaned at this, and it shows. I only really liked 2 of the submissions. Most were meh.
In 9th place (1 point):
Ironically, my #5 pop hit of the year is Nobody's Son by this artist. But I hate just about everything else she's ever done.
I guess I can tolerate Juno and Feather. And her cover of Good Luck Babe was really good. Everything else? Hard pass.
This isn't as bad as her worst stuff like Skin and Taste, but it's still dreadful.
The music video is really fun though. I wish it was used on a better song.
Spoiler
Filthy submits Sabrina Carpenter - Manchild
In 8th place (2 points):
Almost had this below Manchild, and now starting to think I should have. I don't like the way she sings at all, especially the chorus.
This country has plenty of good music. Gimme some Fontaines DC or some ****, not this.
Spoiler
Xander submits CMAT - Euro-Country
😆
proud to take last place in this!
I don't remember the tweet she made. something against the white house
In 7th place (3 points):
I thought this was going to be good after the first 30 seconds. I don't know whose idea it was do have that echo song on the first rap verse. Someone should have told them no. Thankfully they don't do that again and the chorus is fine.
Still nothing I really feel like listening to.
Spoiler
Ferenc submits Wave Generators - Bonjour
yeah! thanks!
and good job retweeting it! 👍
In 6th place (4 points):
As with a lot of songs in this genre, I like the music until the dude starts screaming incomprehensibly.
At around 3:35, I thought they were building to something different for the second half of the song. But nope, same ****.
Spoiler
Amp submits Blut Aus Nord - Shadows Breathe First
In 5th place (5 points):
Can't say I really felt this, but unlike the first four songs, it didn't have a part that wanted me to turn it off prematurely.
Spoiler
IBD submits We Lost The Sea - The Gloaming
In 4th place (6 points):
I like this guy's voice. It's very distinctive. All the songs I've heard from him sound basically the same. I guess if you have a formula that's working for you, why change it?
This is fine I guess. Like the last song, it doesn't really do a whole lot for me, but I wouldn't change the station if it came on.
Spoiler
Rickroll submits Teddy Swims - Not Your Man
In 3rd place (8 points):
Absolutely hated this on first listen. But I grew to respect the boldness.
Critics are creaming themselves over this album. I'm guessing I'd like other stuff on it more than this.
But this is fine I guess. It's my least favorite thing that's getting a podium spot in this game, but I gotta give 8 points to something.
Spoiler
Eric submits Rosalia, Bjork and Yves Tumor - Berghain
The further Rosalia gets away from flamenco the worse she is.
Teddy Swims might as well be AI
In 2nd place (10 points):
GOAT music reviewer Todd In The Shadows called this band sometimes "offputtingly inaccessible". I don't really agree, but I kinda see where he's coming from. After all they're first big hit was about a hard to pronounce chair.
But I still like them quite a bit; Catch These Fists was my 3rd favorite song of the year, but this is enjoyable as well.
I do wish they would cut down on the French language titles though.
Spoiler
Donk submits Wet Leg - Mangetout
In 1st place (12 points):
I did just say that Catch These Fists was one of my favorite songs of the year, and wouldn't you know...
Spoiler
Bolt submits Wet Leg - Catch These Fists
And that does it for the music of 2025.
Hope to get the last category revealed before 2026 happens. Also maybe I should check the scores. Absolutely no idea who is winning right now.
