It seems like there's a lot of conflict and unhappiness in the world these days. It gets me down. One of the few things
So cute. When I throw a ball in the house to my dog his favorite thing to do is nose it back to me instead of catching it. We basically have a game of catch (without him catching it).
hi Astro! we haven't seen snow hear yet and haven't made the one hour drive to find some.
What a good boy!
More Astro: His favorite thing to do is play monkey in the middle with his his favorite ball with my wife and I throwing/rolling the ball back and forth while he tries to get it. He goes until he is completely out of gas. Then he naps with the ball as close to him as possible so it's the first thing he sees when he wakes up.
HA!
We get Luna the same ball. She goes nuts for them. We always have a few spare around as my kids tend to get them stuck in a tree or kick them over the fence.
What a view!

Back at the vet. Unfortunately another tumor, this time on his leg and this time itβs cancer. No spread to spleen or liver so vet thinks itβs low-grade but wonβt know unit they cut it off on Monday.
Ugh! No spread is good news. Best wishes with the surgery and lab results!
As someone who has spent too much time and money at the vet the past few months with this guy chasing ghosts, I can empathize.
I am now on a first name basis with everyone at the vets'. I walked out Tuesday carrying him because he hadn't been able to walk and the vet said she had done all she could do but would contact the state's vet school to see if they would recommend a CT, MRI, or anything at all. One of the ladies at the desk, who also has a schnauzer asked me what the vet had said, and I just shook my head as I walked out. At my request the vet did give him an injection that may or may not have helped previously. The next day the little SOB was bouncing around like nothing had happened.
Coincidentally, I took my other pooch to the vet that following day and the same lady asked how the first was doing. I said, "terrific!" She lit up and told me she was so worried about him that she had prayed for him that night. I mean what the hell are you going to say to that? A couple of days later he is doing fine except for the initial problem I took him in for--peeing way too often. Last night he woke me up to walk him at 3am, 5am, and 6am and still peed in his kennel between 5 & 6. I'm trying to figure out the best way to deal with that while the vet is still working with the vet school with the new info to see if they have anything to offer. Meanwhile, he has a standing order for that same injection up to once a week if his weakness and confusion returns. Dogs, man ...

Dang Tom. You're a good daddy. Thoughts and prayers for you and your sweet puppy dogs.
Same for BigEasy.
Yes, best wishes to Tom and BigEasy pets. And them personally as well, of course.
Everyone thinks their guy is special. And they're right.
Spoiler
A few years ago I was picking him up from the daycare/boarding place. They always tell me how much they love him. (He's apparently listed as PrettyPitty in their system.) Well of course they do. He's not special, it's just who they are. They're dog people working with dogs all day. They love dogs.
It was near Christmas. When you pick up your dog, they bring them out in order. They skipped me. Brought out the dog of the person behind me. Twice. It didn't bother me, but it was odd.
"We're sorry to make you wait, but we're sending Clyde home with presents and we didn't want the others to see."
My guy is special.
so nows the time to tell you two veteran shepherds of knine heath pitfalls of terrors may not be initially realized
but all my mental energy and strength is directed toward your pet healing efforts

Thanks, guys. It's an adventure--to say the least.
Astro leading a (Jetsons') dog's life!
no doubt, so cute!

Winston and Hunter, bribed to get a pic.
Winston (Red CoonHound) is still hanging in there. Lumps all over, palsy in his back legs, coughing up god knows what, and occasional trouble breathing, but still eats like a horse and has put on weight recently. Maybe he gets one more summer.
Hunter doesn't run much anymore, and doesn't bring the tennis ball back when you throw it. Just gives it a good chew and slobbering.
I love old, happy dogs! Living the best life.
two of the goodest ol' boys right there...or is it oldest good boys?
either way, thanks for sharing.
