2025 NFL Season Thread: Can Uncle Rico save the Broncos or will they be Nixed?
Greetings friends.
Those of you who know me know me as a Niners fan full of fantastical levels of vitriol and rage. I hav
Darnold just got $1.5M for tonight's win and can earn another $2.5M if he wins the SB.
lol
Conspiracy theories are circulating because of the NFL's pre-season Super Bowl poster tweet. 😆
I hate when people act like sanders is the worst QB in the league. In fact, there were 4 other QBs who threw for a worse completion % than him. That puts him in the top 49 QBs in the game this year.
That's really not bad
Spoiler
when you consider that the 100 top pass catchers were all in Pittsburgh.

pretty wild that Watt was a starting QB at the time
Surely they were able to cash in on betting the known outcome.

Woulda been a pretty fair conspiracy theory if the actual closest of the giants and Bucs were in the Super Bowl
Does Shedurrr have any weird contract stuff kick in with this selection? That would be hilarious.
Trivia: What 4 people have won a Super Bowl as a player and a head coach?
I got 2.

Exclusive Player & Head Coach Club
Name As a Player As a Head Coach
Tom Flores Kansas City Chiefs (Super Bowl IV) Oakland/Los Angeles Raiders (Super Bowl XV and Super Bowl XVIII)
Mike Ditka Dallas Cowboys (Super Bowl VI) Chicago Bears (Super Bowl XX)
Tony Dungy Pittsburgh Steelers (Super Bowl XIII) Indianapolis Colts (Super Bowl XLI)
Doug Pederson Green Bay Packers (Super Bowl XXXI) Philadelphia Eagles (Super Bowl LII)
Mike Ditka and Tom Flores also uniquely won a Super Bowl as an assistant coach, achieving the "trifecta" of winning the championship as a player, assistant coach, and head coach.
Bonus Fun Fact:
Spoiler
Mike Vrabel is a three-time Super Bowl champion with the Patriots and would become the 1st person to win a Super Bowl as a player and a head coach with the same team.
Name the quarterback that has won 30 games in the last 2 seasons

Hint: He's the guy that everybody thought would have turned back into a pumpkin by now (including me)
Another Bonus Fun Fact:
Spoiler
Mike Macdonald is 8-0 when facing the same coach for the 2nd or 3rd time, including kyle Shanahan and Sean McVay.
Sam Darnold Makes USC History With Super Bowl Appearance
There are plenty of things Darnold can be proud of with how his career has turned around, but this one stands out. He will be the first USC quarterback in history to start a Super Bowl.
“USC has had 26 QBs selected in the NFL Draft, the most of any school. Somehow, Sam Darnold will be the first one to start a Super Bowl,” Yahoo Sports’ Kendall Baker said.
Considering how many quarterbacks have come through USC — and how many were drafted with serious expectations — it’s a wild stat. The Trojans have sent names like Matt Leinart, Carson Palmer and Mark Sanchez to the NFL, but none ended up getting to the Super Bowl as a starting quarterback.
Palmer and Sanchez each helped take their teams to conference title games, but neither made it to the Super Bowl.
The Next USC Super Bowl QB Might Already Be in the NFL
Darnold may be the first USC quarterback to start a Super Bowl, but he might not be the last.
There are technically two other Trojan starting quarterbacks in the NFL: the Chicago Bears’ Caleb Williams and the New York Giants’ Jaxson Dart.
DaVante Adams is 0-5 in CCGs, t2 with more players than I thought.
Who’s 0-6?
Very unlikely anyone gets this, so full credit for what team(s) he played for—I actually did get that before looking it up.
Hint
Spoiler
He was VERY famous in college
Reggie Bush. I didn't cheat. Because I'm pretty sure it's wrong.
How can you tell I'm loading up on the Patriots?

VERY famous college player. Had his Heisman taken away. And something something about them buying his parents a house?
I don't see why he's any worse of a hire than any of the other hotshot coordinators. Keeping him in house is really smart.
