President Donald Trump
I assume it's still acceptable to have a Trump thread in a Politics forum?
So this is an obvious lie - basically aimed at
He didn't directly argue that, no, but implicit in that dismissive "Twitter brainrot" post is the idea that social media and outside life basically exist in two separate worlds and what happens in one has no effect on the other. What else would explain why the right wingers in middle America, who never interacted with a Mexican, are so concerned about the security of the southern boarder?
That's different, as Fox didn't have to deal with millions of commentors claiming that "televised news media isn't REAL LIFE". Nobody got told to touch grass because they repeated what Sean Hannity said on the tube. There's nothing inherently brain-rotting in discussing reasonably influential political commentators who primarily post on the internet instead of going on cable ne
The twitter brainrot I was referring to is that they are slightly less dangerous and stupider than groypers. That’s certainly a take.
Please don't be real:

I think you are arguing against a straw man. I didn't draw that inference at all.
I would bet that the average person consumes news and views posted on the internet more regularly than they consume news and views on TV. These things are inextricably linked.
The internet and social media are not the same thing. I don't know the exact percentage, but the information that people receive through social media obviously is just a fraction of the information that they receive from the internet as a whole.
It is indisputably true that people get more of their political content and news from the internet than they do from TV. Does anyone under the age of 75 get most of their news from TV? Unless an acute event is unfolding in real time or election results are coming in, I probably watch an average of one minute of political content or news on TV per month.
It's real, but apparently it is a limited edition commemorative run. Thankful that I renewed my passport recently.
I got mine renewed the day before I left for Israel in 2023, via appointment. Calling for a slot was STRESSFUL. I was prepared to fly to Chicago or wherever if that's where the next available appointment was. Lady in line with me travelled from Boston for her appointment. Kind of like a lottery system. Very stupid.
Correct. And again, most killed were protestors. There were some murders associated though, and it’s not pleasant to think about. It’s also not great to dismiss riots as “violence against property”. I can walk through LA at night and not feel unsafe for the most part. If there’s a riot going on I can’t. It’s obtuse to dismiss the lack of safety people feel when rioters and looters are about.

More or less obtuse than claiming every protest was a riot or every minute of every protest there was rioting and looting?

I pissed away money on an expediting service because it was during the government shutdown and I didn't realize until a month before I was scheduled to go overseas that my passport was expiring.
Trump administration’s bogus push to prove discrimination against white men falters
white men are a victimized class
facing pressure to bring more cases for white men —
as well as claims of discrimination against American-born
workers and cases of systemic antisemitism —
staff in several districts said they were struggling to find complaints with merit.
And they said they were pressed by their superiors to look for
reasons to keep those cases alive, even when evidence was weak
just like the Trump presidency if you ignore all the mass murder. and tbf, his mass murder pales in comparison what Biden and the Dems wrought on the world. so by liberal values, you dont even need to feel guilty laughing at it!
Funny how terrified the right-wingers still are of the BLM "riots" from 6 years ago. The overwhelming amount of damage done over those events was to property. Hotdogmickey is gonna be crying over those poor Starbucks' windows and overturned empty cop cars for the rest of his life. Meanwhile, ICE is terrorizing entire communities, our government is shipping endless money and
I don’t know if there are any right leaning people terrified of the blm riots. However, I will say the riots had a profound impact on my left run smallish city. Car traffic, foot traffic and increased empty retail and office spaces downtown are all partly due to the riots.
Calling the Iran war “pointless” is saying trump, Kamala, Biden, Obama and Hillary were all wrong when they said we can’t allow Iran to have nukes, isn’t it?
loved how many innocent bystanders, people like doormen and tsa agent type people just clocking in and hoping to clock out and go to their kids little league game were killed by him in that movie
and how the fbi are having serious conversations with "no sir, you don't get it, he's protecting the hive"

It's pointless when his experts say they are of no threat. Do you roll up to a prison and shoot convicts getting out of prison because you can't allow any of them to break into your home or would you wait until they're an actual threat?

I know a lot of people that would go with the first option.
