Resorts World NYC (Queens, NY)
Let's start this thread now that we know there is going to be one!
I'm hoping for lot of juicy PLO games, mixed games, an
why not 130 tables?
Tomorrows the day, hope poker soon too
I may go tomorrow if I can talk my wife into it lol
I think there are $25 minimums, dont knowif that will be higher on weekends
I went yesterday, it was total bedlam. unbeknownst to me and many they not only opened table games but the level below they installed all new machines. Lines where nuts. I spoke to some table dealers. Poker is confirmed to being worked out, no date when.
Whenever it happens poker will be a mess
WEN PLAY POKA?
I seen a video its a line to even enter the casino
Hey everyone, against my better judgement, I made a stop at RWNYC today on my way to bowling league. Instant regret. Let me say this: Whatever expectations you have for some semblance of normal poker, throw it all in the trash and pray that Hard Rock at Cit Field or even Caesars/Bally's in Bronx will have their **** together when they open their casinos in a few years. I headed over to check out the new spot, get a new players card, and play some craps in their new table games section.
When I arrived on property, there were cones set up in weird configurations to direct traffic, along with human traffic directors who were more concerned with their conversations than how to get cars into the parking garage. One person flagged me forward while a colleague of his flagged someone else, causing both of us to jam our breaks to avoid a collision. Nice.
The garage smells like pee. Yay. The elevators smell like pee. Yay.
I asked a security guard to point me towards the rewards club desk. He said "we don't have one of those." Nice. I went to another security guard on another floor, who pointed me in the right direction.
At the player's club desk, I presented My ID and a top tier card from another casino in order to get tier matched. "Oh we don't tier match here," was the response. Pretty sure every casino offers a tier match if you are a player with enough tier credits - they want to steal players from each other's casinos, the only way to do that is to offer perks. I asked if there was a VIP Host I could talk to, they told me the Host Office is on the top floor, so off I went.
The top floor had no VIP Host office, so I was pointed to the Credit office, where I had a conversation with a gentleman, presented my ID, my top level card from a rival casino, and showed him my rewards app for that card so he could see I was not faking this. He told me he did not have the authority to offer a tier match, but he could have his boss accept a phone call from that casino to confirm I am in fact a top level player, and it would be up to me to call that casino to ask them to call their rival casino to get the confirmation, after which Resorts World would assign me a tier based on how I was betting at their craps tables. What?!?! That is not how a tier match works.
So the gentleman brought me to a kiosk where I was issued a bottom level card and it came with $10 free play for slots. I took my card over to the craps pit which contained 6 total tables and saw two tables open. One had 7 players out of 12 spaces available and the minimum was $100!!!! Holy crap! On a Monday??? The other table had 3 players and the minimum was $200!!! How do you expect people to play on tables with minimums so high? So I rolled my eyes, laughed, and walked to a slot machine to use my $10 free play. On the way I saw that blackjack was a $100 minimum on all tables. Got to some slots - Nope - Free Play not available to use on my card. Tried three other machines, same result - unavailable.
So I threw my card in the trash and walked back to my car.
The place is chaos, I will not be coming back to play poker when they open. If you think there will be a giant room, think again - you're getting 20 poorly run tables at best, and that's being generous.
Sorry Resorts World - you lost my business before I could bet a single penny. Bye!
Poker in NYC soon was a nice thought.
See you guys sometime in 2030 I guess.

While I doubt nothing you've said, they've been running for a week and transitioned from being a shitty slots parlor casino. For you to judge them forever based on one experience at the very beginning of their roll out is literally cracking me up reading

“I had a bad experience so this place must be terrible now and forever!”
-110 you still show up at some point when the poker room opens.
I can't imagine they'd be up to speed already, but the $100 min craps table on a Monday is rough lol

I was at RW Catskills the week they opened poker - it was a **** show. I gave them the benefit of the doubt and came back six weeks later - the **** show grew bigger and worse, food options were terrible, dealers in the poker room were not being properly trained, I lost a $200 hand because of an incorrect "technicality" that a dealer ruled on and a floor manager abided by because "I don't have enough information to overrule this" even though the only person at the table trying to rule against me was the person who "won" the hand. I still gave them the benefit of the doubt and came back again to try a tournament - better experience, and figured I'd come back again at some point - poker room moved downstairs, aggressive people working the poker desk plus food in the food court that took 45 minutes to prepare and came out cold. So with all of that over the course of 16 months from Feb 2018 to August 2019, I threw in the towel on RWC being a proper casino. Couple that with my experiences out in Las Vegas at RW in 2022 and 2023 which I listed about in my other post, and you can see why I gave a very short leash to RWNYC. They have a history of being unable to set themselves up for success and provide superlative guest service.
Now, you may have had different experiences at RW properties and if you have then I hope they were good. I have not, and therefore I am entitled to my opinions. As for you betting -110 on me showing up when the poker room opens, easiest money I'd ever win - I am not a degenerate player, I am an enthusiastic yet casual player. Still, I don't sports bet or prop bet so you are welcome to bet against me.
@ TheGramuel (and anyone else who wants to chime in): Have you ever been to a casino with a 6-table craps bay, where two are open for players, neither are filled, and both have a $100 minimum (or higher), and all of that was on a MONDAY AFTERNOON and not a SATURDAY NIGHT? I can understand a $50 minimum on a saturday night at Mohegan Sun or Bellagio - we are in South Queens, there is clearly not enough of a demand yet, so why isn't there a $15 table? Go to ANY casino on a non-holiday monday afternoon in america, you will see a $10 or $15 table minimum for craps. You can argue the same for Blackjack (unless you're on the Vegas strip).
Anyone in this forum is welcome to their own opinion, having debate is what makes a place like this wonderful. But My opinions are based on fact and I have formed my opinions on what I have seen and witnessed as opposed to what others tell me or think they know. What I know is that based on how RW casinos operate, RWNYC is not going to make enough positive changes in order to earn my business and my loyalty.
No, the only time I've seen $100 min craps tables on the main floor was Cosmo and Bellagio during March Madness in 2022, I think there was 1 $50 at each but the rest were $100+.
I enjoy shooting dice like the next man but I don't like playing anything above $25.
Maybe the tables that were full were the lower stakes tables? Are you a vip or not real vips can afford $100 tables. This is nyc not Vegas seems like you are a delicate type although there shouldn't be piss smells either.

New Marketing Slogan for Resorts World Queens:
"We're One Big Toilet!"
I can picture a new ad for them now:
Spoiler
"Sir where is the piss, sir?"
"It's everywhere! Come on down to Resorts World!"

There’s so much to unpack here but I’ll just take a few shots.
“I am not a degenerate player, I am an enthusiastic yet casual player.” Is a fun attempt to say you have the ideal perspective, you play enough to know what you’re talking about but everyone who plays more than you is discredited as a degenerate. What you really just said here is you talk about poker more than you play poker.
And thank god you’re a casual player. I sincerely hope that whatever activities you dedicate more time in your life to bring you joy, it doesn’t seem like gambling does.
You also say (paraphrase) “everyone’s entitled to their opinions but my opinions are based on facts.” In another thinly veiled , meaningless attempt at “my opinions are good and yours must be bad if they’re not mine.” Skipping over the fact that your facts are just anecdotal experiences .
And then you sum it up with “I know for a fact they’re not gonna do enough to make the room good,” which isn’t even sort of a fact lol.
I really don’t know why so many people want to be so negative in these threads lol. Aside from feeling bad that people are so miserable. We’re talking about a casino, slated to be one of the biggest in the world, in one of the richest metropolitan areas in the world, specifically an area packed with demographics/psychographics that love to gamble. A million things can go wrong and these are still going to be some of the best games in the world
is this rag open yet?
The minimums may be high but its nyc, is what it is. With that said if there are few tables for poker would not be surprisedif 2-5 is the lowest stake offered.
Has there actually been confirmation that they proposed poker and that it will be opened that soon Poker usually isn't a priority.
Indirectly confirmed through a (probably mistakenly) unredacted hours of operation document. No confirmation of whether it will be part of the initial opening or if not when it would be opened. If they’re actually opening 250 tables in March though, t
can someone please link me to the "leaked doc" with operating hours for the poker room?
