2026 World Series of Poker May 26th - July 15th
Take your TDS elsewhere, Greg. Plus, I live in Europe and I know what is going on in the US, and I see how it's reported or framed incorrectly in all European news media.Anyway, if people are so stupid that they don't want to come visit the US and play WSOP just because they don't like who is in charge, then there is no hope for them. Life is short enough as it is, and sitting
βYou have TDS!β He shouted to the room full of people disagreeing with him.
Uggh... does every thread nowadays turn political? Regardless of the reasons (there are probably many) attendance seems to be slightly down so far, but its only the first week. Interested to see numbers for the Monster Stack this weekend, common staple event for quite some time that is probably a better measuring stick then a new gimmick bounty or somewhat random $600 event.
On the plus side numbers are up in both Badugi and NL 2-7

Every time the convicted sex offender walking whale shows up the thread degenerates into TDS.
Negreanu repping us tilt monkeys and I love it.
The clock is running on flight B of the 10k GG Millions.
8 players so far.
100k chips and 100-200 blind level 1.
LOL

You hit on exactly why. Why play a long day when you can late reg by 7 1/2 hours and still have a 100BB stack? You can even just skip day 1 entirely and get a 40BB stack to start Day 2.
Maybe it'll wake the tournament directors up and remove those options so people register on time.
very disappoint gif non mixed events are streamed i assume ALL Ft were streamed I thought it was said . even if no commentary
ok all the people screeching about PokerGO all these years, let's hear from you. I didn't entirely disagree, but.. at the same time, you have to weigh it against the alternative. Early indications are, the free stream, while it is overall a pretty decent show, is strictly the 'World Series of Hold'em' if you will, and, that's not good.

They did the same thing last year and only showed O8 ft this early was cause dnegs was there. And saw multiple people say they were going to stream it if hellmuth made it to 5 this year(out 7th or 8th). It's decent enough tonight with Ali and Nick. The heads up coverage I've enjoyed just from being able to go to a few different matches at once. I would have liked to see the badugi last night with schulman and seiver over HU NLH though.
When played live, mixed games are infinitely more enjoyable to watch than HUNL unless your audience is only Holdem players who have never ventured out into any other game(s) at any point in their life. The mixed games should be featured heavily as it is the WSOP, not the WSONL and the rest of the year the only thing to watch is effectively 95% NLH and 5% PLO.
Btw Ali is in a league of his own when it comes to play-by-play commentary, pair him with any color commentator and your duo would get at least a B+ rating, when you pair him with with Nick you get the greatest commentary duo of all-time, not just for poker.
The combo of the goof with great transitions and the laconic/sardonic works great, and it also helps that their vocal tones are different. Lots of stuff hit the mark last night, but the discussion that began with Nick asking if Ali ever went to the gym made me seriously laugh out loud.

Someone has never seen Matt Devlin and Jack Armstrong.
The wiki page was last updated six days ago lmao
This is uncalled for, and adds nothing of value or interest to the discussion.
Regarding tournament entries being down, it's not just European WSOP participants that will be fewer this year overall. Canadians have stopped buying US goods and traveling to America in droves over the past year. Given that Canada has historically been the second most represented country at the WSOP in years past, their comparative absence can be expected to further hurt attendance and field sizes for all but a few events.

We were screeching about pokergo all these years because before pokergo we had virtually all the events for free, often multiple events per night and usually from start to finish. When WSOP moved to pokergo coverage was drastically cut down, especially on the mixed games. The fact that coverage has gotten even worse doesn't change this fact, it's unfortunately part of the trend. This isn't to say we should get all the events for free. Many of us would be willing to pay to see all the events, especially the mixed game events, which used to be available and now are not.
A week into the WSOP and I see a trend for a sharp decrease in low buy in NLH entries.
2026 NLH 1500 6 handed had 1840 entries. 2025 had 2354 entries. - 22 %
2026 online 400 NLH had 1628 entries. 2025 had 2206 entries. - 26 %
2026 online 555 MB NLH had 2063 entries. 2025 had 2551 entries. - 19 %
2026 online 888 NLH had 798 entries. 2025 had 920 entries. - 15 %
Mixed game event entries are holding up very well to 2025 with only minor decreases and some small increases.
Today is the 600 PLO so we will see if the low buy in players show up like last year when it had 3110 entries.
The Monster Stack starts tomorrow so we will see if the decrease continues.
As far as the GG Millions the only comparable event from 2025 is the 10k 6 handed NLH which had 546 entries. I think the organizers
of this event were expecting several thousand. It looks like it will get less than 500.

It’s events like monster stack that give the proper indication of numbers for the ME
small sample size that doesn't mean **** but
went first week of wsop last year and this year
and there was legit felt like 30-40% less people this year than last year overall. also the waits for cash games where vastly smaller than last year
tbf if the 250$ daily depstacks are hitting 800-1k people around midday then thats actually insane turnout or maybe no NLH events lack thereof first week so thats what they are doing

The three episode CBSSN coverage of the PPC FT last year was fantastic, as were Nick & Ali.
