The Democratic Party's Slide Into Irrelevance
Attaching a poll ... Dems unfavorability rating increased from 45% to 57% during the Biden Administration.
I can think of nothing more self-destructive than hating people. From a purely selfish perspective, that would be bad for my heart to wish people ill.
I'm a lover. I'm inclined toward buddhism. I find nothing in the world more beautiful than a woman's orgasm.
If you see hate in that, that's a reflection on your programming 72.
Maybe we can discuss the seeds of your cynicism. We all get exposed to a lot of crap as children, but it doesn't have to be a life sentence. Maybe you need a therapist ?
When we interact with people, there is an energetic exchange. It's something equivalent to a handshake.
One of the things we detect in that energy is the nature of that virtual handshake.
I want to lift people up.
But often we have the experience of connecting with people who want to pull us down into a "misery loves company" embrace.
I grew up with some very miserable people. I learned the hard way how to let go of a death grip of a soul that wanted me to suffer with them.
But I never give up on people and the possibility for positive transformation. I believe in the possibility of miracles.
Well this guy took a weird turn.
Anyway, going back to the murder topic, itβs a pretty silly position to say that either people must be thrown into eco-camps or we should legalize murder. Namely with murder thereβs a direct causal relation between one personβs action and the death of another person. The future damage to ecology is a much more nebulous causal connection.
It also doesnβt follow that if there is a bad thing you think should be illegal and others disagree it is bad or should be illegal, that means we should legalize an unrelated thing that everyone already believes is bad and should be illegal.
Even if granting it did follow logically, instrumentally we should still want murder to be illegal if only because we donβt want to be murdered, even if itβs logically inconsistent to not then advocate for eco-camps.
I fear these sorts of elementary failures in logic completely disqualify Nut Nut from being dictator of the world over billions of people.
I am not important. If lucky, I will live for 100 years in a 14 billion year old universe. I am a temporary, tiny and inconsequential spec of dust in the vast space of that universe. My death is certain. Steve Jobs had a ton of money but lamented the reality that he couldn't use it to hire someone to carry his disease. I prefer a sense of faith to financial assets. I am an inhe
Cool story, bro.
What's your net worth?
I wonder what the IRS would think if I put on the income line, "in the scheme of things, nothing?"
I find the concept of "worth" to be highly subjective.
Financial orientation provides a definition of assets minus liabilities denominated in currency with a relatively short lifespan from a geological perspective. It is ephemeral.
But one's worth is a function of providing things that other people value.
I value learning moments from both a student and teacher perspective. I value evidence and the scientific method. I value faith. I value courage. I value the skill of equanimity. I value a healthy libido and the experience of being joined together with a happy woman. There isn't any amount of money which beats that :-).
Which has literally nothing to do with my question.
A non-ridiculous answer from you like "None of your beeswax Geezer" would have been preferable, but it is what it is.
If that pleases you .....
"None of your beeswax Geezer".
Happy to accommodate. Next time tell me which answers you want in advance and we can see about giving you what you wish.

An almost infallible default position when answering a question from me (or anyone else for that matter), is to actually answer the question.
Now I see the motivation, become powerful so you can have a harem of women. There was another hippie that did that (Charles Manson).

Money really is hugely overrated. I often think about how true the Hedonic adaptation really is - which basically points to the study showing that a lottery winner and someone who suffered a severe debilitating accident has led to the person who experienced the hardship experiencing a greater appreciation for life.
Personally, for what helps to bring in my own satisfaction, would be to both have a set amount of attenable goals to work towards and to experience new things and ideas. I think a redundant, highly predictable day to day life can be extraordinarily damaging to ones one mental state - even if everything feels okay. That I have personally learned to be true.
Now with that said, i think it would be vitally important to recognize that different communities, countries, cultures, religions, and economic situations and so forth will respond to their own challenges in different ways. What may appear to be the best solution from our pov may be more ineffective or harmful than we would think.
In short, as fun as it would be for some to play leader of the world, there really is no practical way that a single centralized authority could ever come close to fully understanding and meeting what's best for all of humanity.
Any government powerful enough to give their people everything they need is powerful enough take away everything their people need.

By the same logic, we should chase carpenters out of town out of fear for our houses.
Which is not me wanting all-powerful government, it just me who thinks slogans often leave a lot to be desired.
The only thing scary about a one armed man trying to scare somone is the fact that he feels his one arm is good for nothing besides trying to scare somone.

Last time I checked, carpenters don't control the government, the military, the airways, etc..etc...
Please shoot me a PM when carpenters are given authority to declare martial law and seize my property. Thanking you in advance.
All seriousness aside (as the late, great Steve Allen used to say), slogans are good conversation starters/attention grabbers but that's about it.

If carpenters are powerful enough to build houses, they are obviously powerful enough to destroy them.
The only reasonable option is to ban carpentry, lest we become bereft of houses.
Any government powerful enough to give their people everything they need is powerful enough take away everything their people need.
Current governments are already powerful enough to take away everything people need. Every effective government has that power. The only alternative is anarchy and that never works.
