No reason to burn out early. Pace yourself. Maybe a nice nap? 😀

I keed, I keed. Thanks for keeping us working stiffs entertained with the TR!

I decided to wander down to the Horseshoe and taking the sights and sounds of the thunderdome. I also needed to get my card tied to my WSOP app so now I'm all ready to go for tomorrow's entry into the colossus.

I definitely had a plan for dinner in my head. One of my all-time favorite Las Vegas meals. Although I haven't had it in many years. Back in olden times this was my go-to meal every time I came to vegas.

This is probably the best food value you can find here. You get a carafe of wine you get a lot of bread you get a salad you get an entree and you get a cappuccino.

I got my favorite the veal parmesan.

All this for less than $50 not counting tip. It was a feast for sure and I enjoyed every bite of it.

Then I headed back to the Venetian to play some cash. But I was in for a rude awakening. The Venetian has suspended all cash games because they need every single table for tournaments. This is good for tournament Players but probably bad for cash players. But I'm fine with taking the night off of Poker hopefully I'm going to sit at that Colossus table until midnight tomorrow.

Glad to see Battista's is still kicking. I ate there a couple of times about twenty years ago when I couldn't score a food comp on the strip and didn't feel like driving. (We may have had this discussion here previously. If so, I apologize.)

Back then the carafe of wine was a cheap Chianti, but it was satisfying and plenty. They had a strolling nonagenarian musician (don't recall if violinist or accordionist) who knew approximately 56 songs. He would wander from table to table and ask where you were from. He would then play a song about your state or country. It was a pure hustle, but one that needed more admiration than I gave it at the time.

I recall the food as decent and filling, but nothing extraordinary. Again, 20+ years ago.

Unfortunate timing.

Flight 1D (the final flight) of their $1M GTD $1100 was today. It drew a big enough field to nearly meet the guarantee without the first three flights.

Last I checked on Poker Atlas, they had over 800 runners. That's a whole lot of people for one day at the Venetian.

I love Battista’s. It’s my favorite dinner break spot at the WSOP.

I haven’t eaten there yet this trip, because I haven’t made a dinner break yet. Gotta EARN it.

Hopefully soon!

Let's go Brewers! Right now they're tied three to three with the athletics. But I have adopted the Brewers as my national league team since my old college buddies dragged me up to a Brewers series every summer. I'll be going a week after I get back from this trip. So I decided I was going to bet a $10 fan parlay everyday this trip. That means I bet my White Sox to win I bet the Brewers to win and I bet who's ever playing the despicable Cubs to win. Right now the White Sox have already come back and won their game against Atlanta the Rockies beat the Cubs now all I need are the Brewers to beat the A's. I plan on betting this parlay every day this trip so it would be nice to get off to a good start.

It was an accordian player. Little guy who hustled hard for tips. Always asked where I was from. Chicago. And he would break into "My Kinda Town". I felt obligated to toss him a 5 although I wished he never came around 😀 He is long gone by now. The food is very tasty and there is a lot of it. Fine dining? Nah! But a great Vegas experience.

Woke up way too early but then again I expected I would. Went out and took a walk I did a complete tour of both the Venetian the Palazzo The Wynn and The Encore and got a lot of steps in.

Then I decided I would get my pre tourney breakfast of choice. French toast at the Grand Lux that should stick with me for a few hours.

Now I'm going to head down to the Horseshoe and Paris so I get there and plenty of time to wander around and find out where my seat will be. This is the official beginning of the trip tournament poker the reason I came here.

Where are they putting the overflow?

I thought for sure we were going to get pictures of the Stage Door's cheap hot dog and beer deal. 😉

Good luck to you and all firing the $500 mega tourney today at WSOP. That Italian food is making me hungry - I may have to hit up ROMA Deli (Todd Brunson and Max Pesctori's place or Carbone etc). GLGLG

Colossus 50k let's go

GLGL!

Good luck and run good!

I always tried to avoid eye contact but it didn't matter. He got me every trip.

They had wall to wall pictures in there back then. Probably still do. I always thought it would be a good way to kill a half hour to be able to get in there while they were closed and look at all those old pics.

First break 46.5 k

Second break 85.2 k doing okay so far.

Good start!

3rd break 48.8 K than a real roller coaster breaking right now with our poker and TJ and we're about ready to go back in there

I'm out it was a real roller coaster I'll probably fire another bullet at this thing on Friday

Just played about an hour of cash at the horseshoe. In for $300 out for 397 so I get $97 back from my tournament buy in today.

After me playing that cash game the plan was to meet up with RPoker and TJ on the Colossus dinner break. We also joined up with Prariebreeze and feel wrath and went to Batistas. So that's two dinners in a row for me at Batista's but I don't mind because I really like that place. Tonight I had the Ziti with meat sauce.

Here is your LVL Trip report crew!

feel wrath, mrbaseball, Prariebreeze, rppoker, TJ Eckleberg.

Nice to finally meet some LVL legends. I also got a chance to meet DogFace before todays tournament (he looks nothing like a dog!) but it was nice to put faces to the names of people I have been interacting with on these forums for years.

Tomorrows plan is day 1A of the 1100 Venetian senior.

Glad you were able to get together with the Trip Report crew.

Always nice to associate a screen name with a face!

It's really a testament to the quality of this forum, and the posters, that looking at this picture makes me jealous. As someone who essentially hasn't played a serious hand of poker since 2014, I've since had my love of the game rekindled, had countless excellent TRs to read, met Tony Soprano and forged a great backing relationship, binked 5th in a donkament (after bouncing ideas off of posters here) and really kinda maybe want to start playing cards again at a high level- all because of this forum.
