A Modern Day Playstation perhaps?

So much will depend on who they get to run the room and how much support they get from upper management. If they get someone from AC or LV who actually knows poker and is determined to make it a big destination, they may push big games and mix games. If they tell the baccarat guy he's also in charge of poker now, which is what one RWC pit boss told me might happen, it's going to be NLH and PLO only and limits will be set by whatever players show up. That means lots of 1/3, 2/5, 2/2, and some 5/5 and 5/10 on weekends. Maybe bigger, but only if players take the lead and start organizing.

In any case, it's a minimum 3 month lead time after they announce dealer classes and post job openings which has not happened yet.

Casinos can take an "admin charge" out of the jackpot drop and most casinos do (in most states this is allowed, to be fair I don't know that about NY State).Separate to that they encourage people to come who may not otherwise come. If they're going to be full anyway then the question becomes the "type" of people they attract.I was operating in general under the assumption the p

don't know about the admin fee either but afaik it's not legal in NJ so I'd be very surprised to find it kosher in NY

and if it's not they will be looking at hundreds of man-hours wasted every month to bring a waiting list from 100+ to 300+?

the room is going to be packed to the gills no matter what for a long time (unless it's 120 tables which is almost certainly not happening), so a smart room director should be trying to crowd control and maximize profits - higher limits, higher rake and no promos

Neighborhood nittery:

RW is actually located in South Ozone Park, not Jamaica.

Still nothin, eh?

Maybe now that the knicks won the finals they will get things going

LFG NYK!

I'm down. Or after my picture. The Mitchell Robinson Poker Room of Trucks n' Stuff

Two months in, still crickets…

Given the rollout so far, who actually expects to hear anything?

It's gonna be "Oh, hey, we're opening a poker room tomorrow. Come on down. No further details will be provided."

Just got an e-mail that they are lowering the table minimums for BJ, baccarat, craps, and roulette. $25 minimum for blackjack which is very reasonable. No mention of poker of course.

I was at RW last month to kill time while waiting to pick someone up at JFK. It is much improved from before. They are clearly working on opening additional floors of the casino. Hopefully there will be space for a poker room on one of them.

It will almost definitely be this in terms of what they formally announce, hopefully some of the sharp eyes we have on the situation catch evidence leading up to it. Remember they technically haven't officially confirmed anything at all, everything we know was "leaked" in some way lol

yeah I'm sure we'll find out from one of the local contractors working on the room way before any kind of an official statement

this x 1,000,000

If not from contractors or some other adjacent workers… they have to post listings for dealers, or a dealer school at some point right? And if they brought in dealers from Catskills or elsewhere, that would make its way down the grapevine I think

As of now they do not even know where in the building the poker room is going to be. I was there and talked to people involved with the downstairs construction. Not coming from a construction worker but someone who is higher up in Resorts World.

PLAY POKAH NOW?

Do they have ultimate hold em here?

OMG!
It's been a couple months since I looked into this and I'm amazed how little things have changed.
I don't understand why when or if Resorts World will open a poker room is treated like some kind of national security secret.
Sigh.

they don't care about poker.

they don't care about poker.

can you blame them?
it's an incredibly boring guessing game with playing cards.

They do. I know someone who played it recently. Apparently the min bet is pretty high and the dealers are pretty green at dealing it.
