It was fun getting to play with TJ. Last WSOP I got to sit in a tourney with Big Whale. Always good to observe masters at their craft!

I really felt good and comfortable playing today. Especially when I started hitting a few hands. When you start whiffing every flop it gets less fun 😀 I am fine going out with AK vs JJ. Gotta win those flips but you also gotta take them.

There is one more poker event on the schedule for this trip. 11am Aria $800 one day tomorrow. Last chance for glory! I'm taking a pass on cash today/tonight. Resultswise this has been a very mediocre trip. But it has been fun. Especially getting to meet LVLer's. Plus I am still learning and growing as a poker player. I think I did a lot correctly this trip but it certainly wasn't error free.

I am actually looking forward to getting home on Monday. Although I know I will be walking into a disaster. Last week there was a huge storm and power was out for a couple of days, the sump pumps failed and my basement (aka man cave) where I spend all of my waking hours apparently got pretty well trashed. I have tried not to think about it 😀 But luckily my Sister and Brother-in-Law started taking care of things. Dealt with the insurance and got the serve-pro crews over for cleaning and repair. None of my stuff got ruined but the carpeting/drywall etc had to be dealt with. I guess there is still work to do. I guess I will find out Monday 😀

Try to arrive early at Aria. Sometimes early birds get to sit inside the poker room (which is much better).

Anybody think the Trooper might be right in that poker is dead and the future is slot machines? I was on my way down to CVS to grab a few snacks because I'm just going to sit up in the room tonight and on my way I said what the hell. In for 40 out for 355 that means I got my Tournament entry from today back.

Will do! I am always early anyway.

A flood when you're gone is pretty awful. You're very lucky someone was there to help you out.

Price out a Generac.

Slept real good again last night. Got up again and got a great workout and it felt good to have a good sweat going this morning. After I got cleaned up I had it down towards the Aris to get some steps in. Just wandered around there and in the cosmo and in the park getting plenty of steps in. I feel ready to go this is my last chance this trip so I hope I can make the most of it.

Good luck and run pure!

Just busted the last hand before the first break. I was getting ravaged top two pair against a set top two pair against the straight I was just getting killed every time I played. I was down to about 17K in the last hand before the break I hit the two black queens. Middle position annoying guy raises to 1200 I re-raised the $3,600. Swap comes out all small cards with two spades. He shoves I call he's got a seven of spades. Turn blank River Ace and I'm gone. Just as I got up from the table I noticed TJ was at the table right behind me. He had just late read and doubled up on his first hand so he's in pretty good shape on this thing. I think I'm going to Mosey across the street and maybe do the daily deep stack.

This wasn't exactly on my bingo card but here we are 25k let's go

Make this last one count

Maybe the tide is turning get all in first hand with pocket Jacks I'm against pocket queens and I River the jack hey I'd rather be lucky than good.

Well that double up gift didn't last very long. The polka God said not today. We gave you that Jack but now we're going to take some away. I have pocket Eights flopQQ8 bingo. Not so fast. Turn Queen the money goes in on the turn and I am up against quad Queens such as life but I'm still alive. 17.2 at the first break I'm going to try to nurse this thing and get back in it.

GL with the tourney and the home!

Uhg! I'm out. No Miracle Jack on the river this time. Got my last 14k in with JJ versus KK. Other than that first miracle River Jack I don't believe I've been on the right side of variance this whole trip. It's too early to just not do anything so I'm going to head over to the Venetian and try to get into a cash game.

Made a minor come back in cash in for $300 out for 452 played for couple of hours

On the road, haven't been keeping up. Sorry to hear about the basement. Hope it's not too bad to deal with when you get back.

Flying out very early Monday (6:10am) so I am going to try and get to bed early tonight so I can get up early tomorrow and then repeat that on Monday.

Plan for tomorrow is squat. Wake up early, work out, hit the pool, probably play a little cash to pass time, cash out my V comps for one last meal. Really didn't eat today other than snacks so I'll have one last "Vegas" meal.

2 weeks in Vegas is too much 😀 For off season 5-7 days is perfect. For WSOP I think 7-10 days sounds good based around certain events you want to play.

The MTT results for this trip were ugly! I was afraid they would be because since (and including) last WSOP I had played 14 MTTS, cashed 6, made 2 final tables and one win. I knew those results were unsustainable and this trip proved it 😀 I felt I played well for the most part but the variance in these things off the hook. Gotta win the flips and get into a position to take them.

I'll do a complete recap when I get home Monday.

glad you could make it out again, sorry the results were not as desired.

I can't give you any advice on the amount of time to be in Vegas. There are times that it feels too short and times that if feels way too long.

I don't really love the 6am flight out, but that's just me.

Thanks for the TR! I hope you share again soon.

Great trip report. Great getting to meet you in person.

Hey! 2+2 works again 😀 Been home for 24 hours now so I might as well wrap this thing up as I couldn't get on 2+2 that past 2 days.

The last day (Sunday) consisted of getting a workout in fitness center, getting in my steps, hitting the pool when opened (9am), fleeing the pool when music started (10am). Then getting cleaned up, cashing out my Venetian comps for a farewll to Vegas dinner and playing some cash. The dinner was my typical farewell with the bone-in ribeye at The DelMonico. As always it was outstanding. The cash went well for +219 so at least cash was a winner for the trip at +$623 total (woulda been more if I could just say no to bomb pots!). I also did good at bubble craps and slots and am guessing(?) about +500. Didn't play that stuff much but had some great hit and run opportunities.

The tournaments were bleak. Other that one min cash I bricked everything else for a total of -3469. I was afraid of that happening 😀 I had been running pretty hot in tournaments coming into this trip and the law of averages says that just can't sustain itself. Too many ways to get wrecked in tournaments. Not to complain but I feel that I ran pretty bad when it comes to the ever important flips and felt like I was on the wrond side of them more often than not. I also didn't seem to hit a lot of flops or turns. Not too many sets or even 2 pair and few straight or flush draws. Just felt like I was on the bad side of variance almost every tournament. I lost with 3 hands with full houses and can't recall winning with one? I am sure I made some mistakes too but felt I made to correct move most of the time.

I had fun though and will continue studying to help hone my craft. It was great getting to meet up with so many LVLers. That dinner was a truly great experience. And it seems like those last few days TJ and I were on the same schedule as we crossed paths at The Southpoint, Orleans and Aria.

Not sure if I will be able to squeeze in a fall trip or not? I will definitely do the Jan/Feb winter break though.

Thanks all for following along. And to all I met it was terrific to cross paths and part of what makes this community great. Let's all do it again next summer!

Thanks for the trip report mate and
I look forward as ever to your next one - you really are a Vegas veteran. Do you know how many trips it’s been?

Tbh re mtt P&L, at least you cashed one of the bigger ones and it’s just a shame you didn’t run good on day 2 in that one. But yep, you haven’t run well. You seem to have been there for a month so I’m sure you’re happy now to be home

Great job continuing to get your steps and gym in and it was awesome to meet you

Thanks! It was great to meet you and glad at least one of us got a score at The Venetian as yeah that was my biggest buy-in. Coulda been worse 😀 No idea how many trips? But it feels great to be home, 2 weeks was too much for wsop I think 7-10 days max is about right.

It always feels good to be home, but I never feel like 7-10 days in Vegas is enough time 😀 Or even 12-13 days for that matter.

Too bad you couldn't get that much going in the tournaments (besides Venetian), but that's tournament variance for you. Better luck next year!
