TV: what have you been watching?

I think The Walking Dead may be the best drama thats currently airing/in production.

There, I said it.

I'm autistic. I wanting to like Patience but I didn't quite get there.

My favorite tv depiction of autistic detective work would probably be the blonde lady on the original Scandi version of The Bridge.

Try Ludwig from the BBC, I'd like to know your opinion.

new season of Sugar out now, with Colin Farrell...I adored the first season, so I'm looking forward to this

Caprica was looking very promising, but alas, it got cancelled... :(

That was right after NBC bought SyFy Network and cancelled anything that was good, since NBC wouldn't recognize good science fiction if it bit them on the a$$.

I'm in my 2nd rewatch of BSG04.Interesting piece below on the religious imagery from the show, primarily (but not limited to) LDS liturgy.

Finally got caught up and finished the most recent Taskmaster season.

Best season by far.

It was a good season, but I don't think it was anywhere near the best one. There were some great moments tho.

Side note: Joanna Page has one of the most annoying voices I've ever heard...almost ruined the show for me.

Took me a minute to get used to it.

S22 cast looks like a banger as well.

I wonder who the next big American comic/actor they would get.

Don't like the Welsh accent?

Don't like the Welsh accent?

I have no problem with Welsh accents, but just the way she talks and pronounces certain words (whist-el, puzz-el, etc) is grating af.

Weird...Wee-ahd lol

rewatching this show now, so amped

definitely goes different now because so many of the late game payoffs are known ahead of time but enjoying it

really forgot just how good the acting was in this show, feels like everyone was perfectly cast

even callie who is the worst is perfectly cast because her character is supposed to be the worst

i'm torn on caprica, nothing happened, nothing was happening, i could see how they were trying for something grand and bold, but you can't do that without a long term deal already in place - nbc was correct to cancel it, it was a huge budget project with limited audience because it didn't go anywhere

only people i knew who watched it were the most die hard bsg fans and even those started dropping out as it didn't go anywhere

handmaids tale did it right, first season is pretty good, follows the book very well and then they went into their mopey woman silently considering her feelings while looking out the window for 5 straight minutes plot arcs once it was locked in with a loyal audience and security for future seasons

caprica started that way, thinking the success of bsg was enough to keep audiences interested

better call saul is the ultimate version of that, they did it perfectly, because when nothing happens in that show, it's still interesting

Finally dipped my toes into Clarkson's Farm.

Watched season 1.

What a great, great show.

I'm liking The Listeners, especially the lovely Rebecca Hall. Reminds me a little of The Leftovers.

Probably end up reading the novel it's based on.

hmmm....haven't heard of this one. Guess I wasn't...listening.

The Bear Season 5 perfect finale. I love the show from start to finish. I can see why folks have feedback for seasons 3-4, but I think the show reflects Storer's overnight success beautifully. The Bear came out of nowhere to become one of the top shows of its time. Overcoming impossible expectations, it delivered time and time again, mirroring the frustration of our boy genius trying to find his happiness in the TV/cooking world. From season 1-5, The Bear uplifted the talents of Jeremy Allen White, Ayo Edeberi, Ebon Moss Bachrach, turning them into master chefs of the acting world. My favorite character is Tina, her character arc moved me deeply. She went from an older lady with a chip on her shoulder and insulting the "Geoffs" Sydney and Carmen for their elevated techniques and she became a well rounded Geoff through the series. I'll miss the show but feel like it ended on a perfect note. I have enough closure on the main characters so I can build little stories in my head on where they end up next. Obviously it would be great to see more, but I think everyone involved in the show is ready to leave it behind and find new projects.

We are truly living in the worst timeline

You do realise at some point in the middle future, these will be the good old days

Started watching Cape Fear but gave up after four episodes. Can't see where it's going. Too many characters that don't seem necessary, but I guess it needs to fill up ten episodes.
