2026 World Series of Poker May 26th - July 15th
well he sucked out on the river and got paid but still counts anyway, godson has a pile, might be 2nd in the tournament right now
This is a cool sweat. I think our hero is bagging for the night in second or third place.
This entire industry was built on river suckouts. Ironic, because Moneymaker just had the one big one v Ivey, and that was a suck resuck reresuck cooler. He dud very little pf shove n giggling.
Kyle is 4th of 533. Caitlin in a tie for 65th. Hadn’t seen Ordet’s name all day but that’s because he was on the TV table. Foxen still in good shape. Fossilman has not quite six orbits left at the next level.
This was a wild hand. So what had happened is Foxen opened for 30k from LJ. Blinds are 10k/15k w/ 15k ante. I'm in the BB w/ 7♦4♦ and call. It is the second to last hand of the night.
Flop is J♣ 3♦ 6♥ with 85k in middle
I check
He bets 30k
I raise to 125k
He calls
Turn is J♣ 3♦ 6♥ 8♣ with 335k in middle
I bet 250k
He calls
River is J♣ 3♦ 6♥ 8♣ 5♣ with 835k in middle
I bet 200k
He calls
If I remember correctly it was a bit over 2 spr on river
Not sure if I'm supposed to go bigger for value on this river. My thinking at the time is that the club was a bit better for his range than mine, but reduces the value of my nutted combos like sets and two pair so I opted for a small size which can contain some of those hands that can get called by over pairs with a club, and sets. Also random top pairs with a a club are probably indifferent in theory, but I don't know. I also think it is possible that I induce some bluff raises, but honestly I don't even know if I want that. I was like, "I'll cross that bridge if it comes to it". Foxen was a bit upset about the hand because he ended up calling and said he had JJ. If river had been different I may have ended up blasting off a big stack and possibly all-in so I'm really really lucky that did not happen. I wasn't sure if I was gonna pull the trigger going to the river or not. Certain cards I definitely would have gone crazy, obviously not on clubs though.
Alex Foxen seemed like a pretty cool guy overall. The table had good vibes and he shook my hand and some of the other player's hands at the end of the night. He's actually at my table tomorrow 2 seats to my left which is a bit intimidating since he's a top tier player. Hopefully I'm able to hold my own tomorrow and keep sun running. Overall, I feel like I'm playing a solid game for me, but I'm also highly aware of the massive good luck streak that I've been getting and really hope it continues. This whole experience has been surreal.
Another thing, I'm struggling really bad with keeping track of the sizes of the pots and it shows. Also botched my hand chart that I memorized and ended up calling a 15bb all-in from an EP player w/ A2o. A2o is a defend against a 2x open, but not an all-in. My brain glitched and after I called I realized the mistake that I had made. Probably my second biggest blunder in this tournament apart from revealing the AKo hand in an earlier hand. I've definitely made many more mistakes, but that one was pretty big.
Nice job, get some sleep. Foxen’s a pretty big guy up close isn’t he?
And yes, you should’ve bet 400K on the river.
And he should’ve popped it on the turn; the 8c is a wet card.
in addition to the above list wall of text, a few more names I've seen before
two final tablists from the boom era
Ralph Perry--3rd in 2002
Scott Lazar--I'll gamble with you guy from 2005 final table.
Iachan was 17th last year
caitlin comeskey, vanessa kade
Seems to be a lot more than I remember people I've heard of than normal at this stage of things. A lot are toward the bottom half of the standings so interesting day today.

I would've just called turn too, it's only sort of a wet card. godson would've punted a good amount of chips on a bunch of different rivers.

The 5c is a horrible card as every looney backdoor runner runner punt draw gets there.
Would’ve been the GOAT exploit fold after godson’s weird little bet; obviously never could’ve happened.
Ok that makes a ton of sense and makes it more reasonable albeit still pretty sick to make the call for that much. Commentators didnt mention the misclick 3b
That’s because “misclick” isn’t on their cheat sheet of jargon & slang to use to make it sound like they actually in play poker other than celebrity freerolls & tv/streaming shows. Schulman would’ve caught it I bet.
Sick sick read/call by Foxen.

Yeah, he's quite jacked. I was surprised by how much muscle he had in person.

For sure, there are some rivers that I may have gone all-in on. I wasn't sure if I was going to pull the trigger on the river, but then again, I'd be checking back river with 7 high which isn't something I like doing so there is a good chance I would have bet huge. I can't believe how lucky I am to have gotten this river. A different suited 5 would be absolutely deadly for him, because I probably would have jammed, but I'll take the good luck that I've been given.
I thought this spot was a good block bet spot since the flush came in, but since flush card came on the turn I probably gave it too much credit. I don't know, it was a really strange thing to happen and with so much going on. I do feel 74s is a good double barrel versus most, but against a pro like Alex he might be able to find all those tough calls so turn might be a give up. I'd say mostly throughout the tournament, despite getting good cards, I've been getting a lot of over folds in spots like these which have definitely helped out a lot. Once he called the turn bet which I felt would get through, I'm thinking "oh ****, what am I going to do on this river." I bet that could be why he made such a reaction, not only did I get a miracle river card, but I also didn't even get the proper value after betting it.
I've been betting big on the rivers in a lot of spots against people both when I have it and not have it and keep getting big folds, sometimes I even get shown their big folds. The one time I'm up against a player that might actually make the call I go small. Go figure.
Oh well, I've got to start today with a fresh mind and just go in and have fun playing some poker without letting the money count get to my head too much. I tell myself that I'm playing 200NL on BetRivers and then I feel fine.
Keep it going!
Wow, Dutch Boyd has ballooned up.
from the late stream last night at the 4 hour 15 min. mark.
Godson on feature table!!!! Go go go
The Godson(Mart right?) with Foxen 2 to his left on feature table now.
I don't see our boy in the chipcounts anymore, may have busted. Gg if so.
Absolutely incredible. Run good and even win!
Godson getting the full experience. GL bud. Careful giving away info during the hand.
I feel like Grey Raymer out of all main event winners always makes it to like day 3-4 constantly.
