Daniel Negreanu's very own containment thread. All things Danny go here
how bad must he be when a girl falls asleep while making out and snores right after?
life fish..... food arrived but didn
Hellmuth isn't worth 1.8 today, except maybe in the ME or some $600 event.
DN is 8th of 47, 21 places pay, in the $50K NLHE. Still a bunch of short stacks that bought in close to the deadline, many of which will bust soon.
If he doesn't cash, he is definitely a losing player who can't beat low stakes.
Maybe I defend him because I was verbally abused by my parents and picked on in jr. high school, and get triggered by the way he gets picked on ITT.

The $50K NL actually pays 31 places, so they are getting near the bubble now, DN is 7/36.
Another cash in 50K, might break hearts again in this one, sitting 7/31 as last updated
Ladies and Germs, there's a new chipleader
What on earth is that Sean Perry video about?
6th of 13 at end of day. Seidel 5th. The places that don't make the final table make a little more than a mincash. 6th and higher start to make significantly more.
There is huge variance in these, but it is obvious he has good results. Not that many others playing all the high buyin events in all games. Not sure if PLO is his jam, but he seems to do better in mixed than PLO and better in PLO than NLHE. He could win this and whatever, and people will come up with stuff to criticize and make fun of, due to his endorsement contract, etc.
He seemed to have some argument with Sean Perry. Not sure what it was about.
He's crushing the 25k fantasy league too, even before this score.
Anyone know how you win for that and what sort of side bets he has
We cant simply write this off as luck anymore. While Daniels play is unorthodox at times and he claims to not really study GTO, he still crushes. How? Feel.. intuition.. creativity. His years of experience has given him an edge, even over the high roller fields. He also proved he could run deep in low buy in events.

He must have studied GTO for his match with Polk. There were 3 other old school TV pros in that tournament, Ivey, Seidel, and Hellmuth. I don't think Hellmuth and Seidel play about $50K in NLHE. Arieh, for example plays the top buyin mixed and PLO, but not NLHE.
The younger players in the high stakes tournaments seem to more play either just NLHE, just PLO, or just NLHE and PLO, or they are mixed game cash players and play just mixed and non-NLHE non-PLO games. There are many playing top stakes in all games like Negreanu and Ivey
His style was unorthodox 15 years ago with the small ball, sort of limp aggressive. He isn't going to play the way GTO types do. The top tournament players mostly know GTO, but don't always play it.
I think he does better in mixed game and PLO tournaments, because they are not so GTO oriented.
It was totally obvious from his results, etc. that he was still a top player, and I am glad you are coming around to realize it.

Perry was screaming some nonsense about Dnegs being a scammer- of course without elaborating.
Pretty funny coming from a scammer like Perry.

Here's the clip, I don't know what he's talking about though. https://www.youtube.com/shorts/iQM_bU1I1...

It seems kind of irresponsible to me for PokerNews to feature this video in the tournament reporting feed without any sort of explanation or context.
or someone should mention to Perry that if he's going to lose his mind and rant on camera, he should be thoughtful enough to provide specifics within said rant
I'll try and sum it up the best I can from what I remember. Perry made a sports bet with Jason Mercier and never paid for years claiming he was scammed by them moving the line by half a point but I don't know the exact details. Eric Wasserson ended up on a poker stream with Perry and called him out for freerolling the bet and basically called Perry a scammer to his face. Negreanu laughed at the streamed clip on twitter which sent Perry into a rant. Now Perry claims Negreanu and his friends are scammers even though Negreanu has nothing to do with the bet.......all he did was laugh at a clip lmao
Where are the losers now after Daniel shipped the 100k? Seriously so many clowns here.

Any news source is going to resort to stuff like this that causes people to start engaging with it, leaving comments either defending Dnegs, saying Dnegs is scum, asking what this is all about, etc.
Media only cares about views/clicks/likes/engagement. Context, pffft.

There is high vatiance an low edges in high stake tournaments. No one is going to be a constanr winner. He is not going to play the same style as a gto bot. It was perfectly obvious he was a winning hogh stakes tournament player.
8th place 226k. Definitely a losing player
