President Donald Trump

I assume it's still acceptable to have a Trump thread in a Politics forum?

So this is an obvious lie - basically aimed at

I don't have any objection to incumbents. If people do a good job, then a meritocracy will allow them to continue to do a good job.

haha good one

What you and I share is an objection to all of the above being controlled by whoever has the most money. Let's make a point of acknowledging our points of agreement.

You want a fantasy world which doesn't exist. A world where people and animals don't eat.

I want to navigate the real world.

yes, thank you for correctly stating my thesis, Nothing Should Eat.

You're the one who bitched about eating.

If you want to retract that, feel free.

Edit: you bitched about nature too.

But you don't want to exclude rapists from leadership.

You want to choose leaders by lot despite rapists being in the citizen pool.

I'm trying to get a handle on your principles amplify.

Mostly, it seems that you just want to bitch and moan. You don't advocate for anything except some kind of fantasy world.

Why do you consider elections democratic? Seems to me they are inherently elitist and problematic.

Wouldn't it be much more "democratic" to have all positions decided by lot? This is how we compose juries, for example, to make some of the most impactful decisions in our society.

Juries are not decided by lot. The jury pool is decided lot, which is drawn primarily from the voter registration rolls (at least in California).

The Prosecution and the Defense Team select the folks who actually end up serving on the jury from among those in the jury pool.

haha there you go! that took some thought.

You're against eating? That's an interesting political position. I would wager that you won't find many supporters.

One of the stupidest posts I've seen on this message board and I was in the 9/11 conspiracy theory/flat earth thread for months so that's saying something.

I have stated this previously. The answers are never in creating new power structures, they are in understanding how existing structures affect your thinking and behavior. False Conscioisness. Alienation. Commodity Fetish.

This is one of the funniest things I have read all year.

You mean the 2020 election where Obama intervened to make sure an establishment friendly lackey like Tom Perez was running the DNC?The 2020 election where Pelosi decided to schedule the irrelevant Trump impeachment trial so that Bernie Sanders couldn't campaign in Iowa for the 3 weeks leading up to the first vote? The 2020 election where Obama decided to challenge only one Democ

Lol, man of straw. I'm pretty sure he wants to discuss whether the voting process is susceptible to widespread fraud - you know, since that's Trump's claim.

I can handle the mocking. Pharaoh mocked Moses. God gave the Egyptians plagues.

I'm not God. Just a messenger like Moses.

Trump is a plague. Plastic in our brains is a plague. The drought in the American Southwest is a plague. Inflation is a plague. Political polarization is a plague. Climate change is a plague. Biodiversity loss is a plague.

Go ahead .... ignore the plagues. See how that works out.

So .... let's discuss the vote counting process in the 2020 Iowa Democratic presidential contest.

Does that mean you concede that presidential elections are not rife with voter fraud?

by Land O Lakes

Does that mean you concede that presidential elections are not rife with voter fraud?

The fiasco in the 2020 Iowa Caucus had nothing to do with voter fraud.

It's the vote counting which was the issue.

I don't have any evidence of voter fraud to report.

So your response to voter fraud is to pivot to something else? Okay, son.

it would be more democratic to have all legislation voted up or down by the respective polity, with elected representatives performing more of a figurehead/champion role in crafting and negotiating proposals being floated for referendum

political participation should be constant, not biannual.

by Wearwolf

political participation should be constant, not biannual.

well, you would be heavily involved with your labor union and decisions being made at your workplace etc and similarly in your community with good ideas floating up through the layers in a Mass Line type deal.

so it's not like (in socialist utopia) you're just being presented with a list of up or down decisions to make, that puts all power in the hands of those who get the decisions on the ballots. you're involved constantly at every level in decisions that are currently being made for you by Capital.

yeah, threshold amount of signatures to place initiatives on the regular ballots for gatekeeping, maybe representatives can bypass

by Land O Lakes

So your response to voter fraud is to pivot to something else? Okay, son.

I never claimed voter fraud. I'm not aware of any evidence of voter fraud.

I don't disagree with this.

But legislation is a subset of decision making.

Implementing the law is a continuous process assigned to the executive branch of govt.

Such becoming modesty.

Second thoughts maybe not.
