lul at comparing him to someone grinding a 9 to 5. he literally said on the vlog that he doesn't need the money. so he'd only be going to chase down a meaningless award. congrats

Probably a better comparison would be to a star professional athlete who has to go on long road trips. These people probably don’t “need the money” either.

Like, if a top-ranked tennis player’s wife had a kid a month before Wimbledon, would you criticize them for playing in it?

The distinction there being a top rated tennis player has a limited window and Danny is on his 4th set of hair plugs

But yeah, athletes get criticized for stuff like that all the time

so, what's the latest cope in here now dnegs won a bracelet and 7 figs this summer?

Pro athletes being criticized for playing their sport? As someone who follows a lot of sports, it's hard for me to recall any instance of such a thing. I guess one time that kinda fits is Tom Brady when he un-retired, he took heat for that, but that was more because he was going back on a promise he had made to Gisele

Looks like the geniuses are back on hair plugs, which by the way I'm quite sure he never technically got.

Pro athletes typically get/take one or days of paternity leave

Where did the hair plug thing come from? And when did Daniel get a beard? Only serious answers, please.

I never said he was a bad player. I said he is a narcissistic pos. So attacking his hair surgery seems pertinent considering I think hes a narcissist. The distinction between plugs or transplant is moot.

I just scratch my head at stuff like if he had to play poker for a living without the sponsorship he play 100/200 mix or whatever. He's had great success at 25K (and below ) mix, plo, and nlhe tournaments consistently throughout his career. He'd just play those, but of course he would probably lower variance like others do and sell stakes and do swaps.

And if/when he did supplement with cash it would be higher stakes where it would be private or semi private (Curated BS.)[/QUOTE]

I think you're misunderstanding me. Without debating the possibility of him beating 25ks without a sponsorship (cause he does have it). I was stating that if he needed to he surely could support himself through a sizeable cash game to make a living. I thought that was the argument, whether he was a "winning player ". As I said above, he's clearly competitive at the highest level even if he's just a small loser or break even. I don't care who you are, making a really n8cr living playing high stakes tournament poker is a tall task. I think you have to almost always supplement your income through cash games.

I was ultimately agreeing with your sentiment, I think you've become so accustomed to everyone attacking your stance to saw what I said as disagreeing.

I do feel when speaking of his success overall, you cant just completely discount the sponsorship from PokerStars to GG for 20 years. My uneducated guess would think it could be worth 80-100 million over that time frame plus travel expenses.

He earned it in sure, but he is also the only player in history to maintain a full on sponsorship through most of his entire poker playing career. And don't think that sponsorship doesn't severely impact his playing ability.

My previous post I was only speaking about his career.

Edit: i guess Moneymaker might be the other
