MuckPls and everyone else vs Vegas (10/4 to 10/20)
Figured I’d start the TR as I have some time on my hand before my trip. Where to start…
Haven’t really played any poker a
Glad to see I'm not the only one with two copies of the same card.
Good luck!
Safe travels, welcome to USA#n. Looking forward to the stories.
Ditto. I have the benefit of keeping one in my car so I can get into the parking garage.
BTW, CET is having a drawing for free Super Bowl tickets. One entry for every 25 tier credits. I imagine you care about the Super Bowl almost as little as me, but they're worth over a thousand bucks I would guess.

I doubt you can easily sell. My son won a pair couple of years ago from Caesars Baltimore and the Ravens. Was a flights, hotel and tickets package. Only him and his guest (took his sister) could use the flights and hotel. Didn’t get possession of tickets until in Arizona. So if they could be resold, I assume they could, it would be last couple of days. Maybe even day of. Still could sell but would have had to travel there and check in. Plus if CET finds out, may cancel your card. Not really worth it imo.
Wishing MuckPls safe travels for tomorrow! I am not flying out until next Wednesday (9th), but felt like posting some ramblings here while waiting.
First of all, my brother will sadly not join for this trip either. Apparently swamped with work, and wasn't able to get time off. Quite disappointing, as I had assumed he would join after missing out on the trip in May. But such is life, and there will regardless be plenty of familiar faces to see on this trip!
As mentioned in my previous post, I am staying at MGM Grand for the entire nine days, which I think I will enjoy. Location is decent, Monorail is close by, and with the weather forecast looking amazing I will be able to relax in their huge pool complex. I am a fish after all (or a whale, to be precise). And it obviously doesn't hurt that they have a poker room either for those days where I don't feel like walking far.
Poker rooms on The Strip is sadly becoming a rarity these days, with Caesars the last one biting the dust. No word yet on whether that room is coming back or not, but as we know all too well - poker is often first on the chopping block when casino executives notice that they can earn more money on other games. Only 8 rooms left on The Strip now (well, 10 if we include Westgate and Sahara), and I definitely don't think that is a good thing. The great thing about Vegas for me is the variety and not see the same room/dealers/players over and over. But with fewer and fewer rooms this is becoming harder to archive.
One thing I will do for this trip is to remember that there are rooms outside of The Strip as well, and probably make some treks to South Point, The Orleans and Red Rock if I feel like more variety. And obviously also Golden Nugget.
As always I will play a lot of Cash Games, and also sprinkle in some tournaments as they are always fun. One thing I really want to try and do this trip is to be more diligent about playing some longer sessions, and in general try to get in a few more hours. Every time I play poker here in Malta (mostly tournaments), I am struck by how much I love the game; making decisions and thinking about how I could have played spots more optimally. So even though I love to relax while on vacation and sprinkle in other stuff, I will remind myself that I am there for poker mostly.
I will come back the day before I leave with shoes, bankroll and all that jazz. In the meantime I am sure that MuckPls will provide a lot of updates, hopefully mostly poker hands instead of blackjack and VP degening 😀
Safe travels, everybody!!
IN for this. Enjoy and run the best.
As a tournament junkie, I highly recommend taking a shot or two at some Wynn Fall Classic events for anyone interested.
good luck Muck and BigWhale.

There's always next summer for the WSOP. If you haven't seen the spectacle before, you really should, at least once.
Man, I'm jealous. That first event has 2 Day 1's for $400. Probably have a good turnout.
Down in Amsterdam, just 11 more hours for Vegas [emoji24]
As far as tournaments go, it’s gonna be a no for me, at least for the first week. Gonna be way too busy with various stuff until next Sunday. Will see how everything goes after that.
You got free play too? That's pretty good.
I still haven’t done a proper update of yesterday, so might as well.
Left Malta early, 7:30 am flight to Amsterdam and only had 1 hour or so to board the next plane so was at least time efficient.
Flight over was pretty painful. I have back and neck problems so by hour 5 I was already walking around in pain with an Ibuprofen already working in me.
Anyway, landed and got the biggest immigration queue I had ever seen. Easily 600 people total with only 3 agents working - massive tilt!
Anyway, got through after an hour then got hit by the insane heat.
Checked in, met up with PLO friend and had Javiers:

Then passed out for 7 hours, we woke up and went to Aria and hit for 2.2k while waiting for a seat.
Now here:

Great start!
Nice VP hits
boom! great start to the trip
So I just had the craziest hand in my entire life. Every dealer change we do $6 PLO bomb pot. Get dealt 93TJr. Board one flop is Q98 for nut straight, board two is A93 for two pair. Pot, two calls. Turn on upper board is a blank, offsuit 2 maybe? Lower board 5. Pot, again two calls. River top board is a 3, lower board is an 8. And the hand goes pot allin allin call.
Player one says he has nothing on top but a straight on bottom. Turns out he misread his hand and has like 6 high for absolutely nothing.
Player two says he has a straight on top but he too has misread his hand and actually has two pair on top and nothing on bottom.
Ended up scooping a 2k pot at 1/3 vs two players who had absolutely nothing.
$/100 is currently at $600.

Bomb pots are a freaking gold mine.
People make catastrophic mistakes for everything they have in front of them, often.
