MuckPls and everyone else vs Vegas (10/4 to 10/20)
Figured I’d start the TR as I have some time on my hand before my trip. Where to start…
Haven’t really played any poker a
Off to a great start!
All of that is nice. The pics, the story, all of it.
(I didn't see the in-between posts. This wa sin reference to the PLO bomb pot post).
Multiplier too!
Nice! Is that mostly because of vp or craps or what?
I still haven’t done a proper update of yesterday, so might as well.
Left Malta early, 7:30 am flight to Amsterdam and only had 1 hour or so to board the next plane so was at least time efficient.
Flight over was pretty painful. I have back and neck problems so by hour 5 I was already walking around in pain with an Ibuprofen already working in me.
Anyway, landed and got the biggest immigration queue I had ever seen. Easily 600 people total with only 3 agents working - massive tilt!
Anyway, got t
Man, that looks good.
So yesterday, being the first full day in Vegas, took a dark turn. Right after the dealt kings quads at Aria I about to walk back to my room to get some sleep, and randomly bump into a Swedish friend who coincidentally lives in Malta (LetsGiveitaspin Twitch/Youtube streamer)

I hang out with them for an hour or so, then they head for a slot tournament and I head to the poker room because there is an overnight game going with people going crazy, super drunk. It’s a 2/5 game but whatever, let’s take a shot! Long story short, lose $2200. Mostly from KK vs AK pre allin. Not much you can do there.
After that I am still in plus a bit so I go order some food and while I wait I sit down to play blackjack. I’ve had a couple whisky’s by then and start to lose then go on mega tilt (hey Leon!) and 20 minute wait for food turns into me not giving a **** about the already paid food and torching through $2000 on blackjack.
Ok, not good. Now I’m REALLY tilting. Got $2000 left (obv more backup but) and decide we will make a comeback no matter what. Go over to Park MGM, start ordering whisky (sorry no pic, tilt mode). First $500 gone in 3 hands. Second $500 same.
And from the last $300 bullet I gave myself I end up making a full comeback, and ending the night at $3075 ($75 profit overall)

Total madness. I meet up with PLO friend for one last whiskey before we go back to the room. Took this pic on the way back, phone booth with Maroon 5:

Today I will play 2 hours at Aria, then I’ll disappear for a full 8 hours hike outside of Vegas. Wish me luck!
get em Muck!
Have fun on the hike, hope you get to see some interesting things in nature. Good that you're balancing the degen with outdoors.
Pleased for you (but also thinking "How the **** do people run so good?!")
Good job. Is Lake Mead still way down?

Okay, that answers my question about where your great comps are coming from, lol.
Got absolutely destroyed in an overnight 1/3 game by the biggest fish ever seen. Extremely tilted.
Example of hands (not involved): 8275Tr board. Goes 100 on flop and a call. On turn between 180 - allin 700 - call. After river guy who went allin shows AJ, guy who called says it’s good and mucks.
Later same guy makes it 25 over straddles, I make it 75 in bb with AA and the guy folds (!!!!!) AK face up.
Anywho, lost a couple of big and a couple of small hands and snap left the table and went to UX.

And then just below hand pay:

Cashed out up $1400. Time for a break.
Yes it was very low, although the area we were at is a small stream flowing into Lake Mead.
Mead is about 25' above the record low in 2022 (iirc) but still 150' below record high. It is probably 100' below where they would "like" it. And that would take probably 10+ decent snow years to recover.

Holy crap! We're going to start calling you Leon Jr.
Double double bonus?
Quick Whale-update; I was supposed to fly out to Vegas on Wednesday, however there has been a change of plans.
Last Thursday I managed to strain my back at the gym, which originally didn't worry me too much as it didn't feel too bad and there was still plently of days left before the flight. However, the recovery process has been very slow, and although I am starting to feel better now I just don't think a 20 hour travel day on mediocre flight seats are the best option right now. Maybe I am being overly cautious, but I do want to be careful with back injuries even though it's not a major injury.
I have therefore made some changes to my flights, and if I start feeling better later this week I plan to fly out on Saturday instead, and stay for one week (12th-19th). Bit of a shorter trip than originally planned, but only by 2 days so it's not terrible. I ended up cancelling the hotel reservation as well, but prices are still cheap at MGM Grand so I will probably end up there anyway.
Will come back with an update in 2-3 days, but I am still hopefully of seeing the bright lights of Las Vegas this week 😀
In the meantime, hopefully some positive updates coming from MuckPls.
GL Whale, hope you recover rapidly and fully!

Unfortunately, I'm all too familiar with back injuries. Don't be too proud to use a cane if it helps take the stress off while you heal. You do a lot of walking in Vegas.
If you aren’t playing hand shuffle double deck 3/2 blackjack, then you may as well be handing the casino your money. (If you are table gaming for comps entertainment etc. then obv thats different.)
The auto shuffler for 6 deck or continuous shuffler is a money printer for vegas.
