I'm just surprised that you think he's a terrible player because he made a correct fold to a raise when he was dominated.

Folding QQ to a single 3-bet is unimaginably bad. I did not show him my cards as I was across the table from him. If you fold the third best hand ever created to a 3-bet then you will get exploited like crazy.

QQ is 110% a 4bet.

well, for their sake it was a good play because they were dominated with only about 8% equity

Yes but unless you have laser vision or a crystal ball you have no idea that you are dominated. I 3bet JJ in that spot too vs first to act. I respect your opinion to fold but it is incorrect.

Got crushed at Aria for a couple of bills. Cashed out 495 and was gonna head to bj but found a TDB double super times pay and chucked in $45 change.

500 effective. There is a straddle of $6. UTG+1 makes it 20, two callers. Cutoff who’s a mega fish makes it 140 out of 400 total. I look down at AcJc on the button. Perfect cards and action for a squeeze spot so we ship it in for $500. Folds to cutoff who calls. Board runs out Q735K rainbow. I show AcJc, guy sighs and mucks. Probably the wildest hand I’ve ever played, what the hell does he call with?

Couple minutes later vs a guy with equal stack, now around 1k each. There is a raise and a call and I call 77 in bb. Flop is KQ7r. Long story short we pack it in on the flop vs KQ and he drills a Q on the turn and I insta lose a 2k pot.

Maybe I’m a nit, but I’m not loving 4b ripping AJs multi-way, even against a mega fish. Looks like you had the best hand the whole way so it worked out, nh.

That 4-outer sucks, though. What can you do.

I agree that it’s an unusual spot, but mega fish was a mega fish and vs this opponent jamming light is +EV (especially seeing the results).

if you think QQ has 8% vs KK pre flop then you are very badly mistaken but to labour the point (and I'm still not sure you weren't joking), the question is how QQ is doing against a 3bet range, not against this specific hand and against that, QQ is a clear, slam dunk continue at a minimum

that is a big enough mistake but SHOWING the QQ fold is rofltastically bad.

I like the rip there. We are too strong to fold, the rip folds out a giant amount of hands that are better than us or have a huge amount of equity vs our hand and there is so much dead money in the pot

I didn’t even notice the 8% part. If my math isn’t wrong it’s 80-20%. But yeah never ever folding QQ, probably very rarely just calling.

It's high variance, but I agree that I don't hate it. We force out hands as strong as AQs and TT from the opponents already in the hand. Heck, with this being Vegas I am not even surprised if AKo folds out sometimes from the original raiser, although I guess it depends on just how fishy the huge donator is.

Based on the runout I assume the fish probably had something like JTs or maybe A4s or other suited Aces that didn't connect.

Just got back from Paris where I had no time for 2+2 -- and found out we are going to Vegas from December 1 (maybe November 30) through December 6 -- so great to catch up with this thread. Sad to learn about all the room closings, but we usually stick with Aria/Venetian/Wynn.
