I started today's session getting scooped in my first five hands and lost 4k right away. Brutal. double board, aces on an unfriendly flop; kings got four outed for scoop; drawmaha high steal but had just enough equity to call down n get scooped; bigO 3 way all in - pair of deuces wins on the river, insanity, lose a cap; 74-74 in badacey four bet pot pre, jlot made 5-6 and only called me down - talking about respect. I had to reload a flag and slowly climbing outta hole but took a hit right before main game broke, unfort.

I gave up the sole open seat to a new player after that...

Ruth, and that lady running the 10-20 mix at caesers palace (Mojgan Stringham) - same breed. Shame cuz I think Mo's husband and her daughter are quite nice. Mo is the also the lady Kris Murphy and I called out for angle shooting in the 2025 paris 20-40 mix (I've put that HH in the thread here before when I was sitting on the couch at Hilton at RW).

In O8 there was a hand i played vs his xbook opponent where on turn i checked back top two and nut low draw on a four liner board not wanting to get check raised....Eli slapped my hand at showdown and said Bet the Turn, Jimmy, you cost me $240!

Now later comes a 3way cap bigO hand w cap being 2.4 dimes cuz the straddle. After they got all in I realize that it's about 11 thousand dollar swing counting the xbook.... so i innocently said to Eli's opponent wow this is a 10k swing for you. Eli got mad, rightly so, and blamed me for pointing it out. Obv not my place to say anything about it - if i have any defense, yest they were both sitting next to me and constantly talking about xbook stuff so I keep thinking about it too while playing the game. Props too of course. How I stayed in my lane and player properly was miraculous, or professional!!

Eli was the big favorite in that hand w middle set vs a combo draw vs the nut low draw.

one of the guys has been developing a poker app for mix games, similar to kings n phenom. he offers me an opportunity to run a club in there, as in i can collect my own rake n stuff - i can make money off it. im laying myself big big odds that i am not going to do it.

i have a line i like to use recently - i like my money to be made the traditional way, having someone drawing to a three card nine against me in badugi.

rampage and mariano made tons off pokerbros. i was in that club briefly just to see what's up. i vaguely recall that they were reeling in six figures every week, crazy.

i feel like you gotta draw in the sand a line - if i accept being a club owner on the site, like if i accept being a sponsor for qqpk or qqpoker - how can i have the audacity in the future to call myself a cash pro?

heres the update w 3-600. they gon play a week each at bell, aria, vene, and encore, then decide. Wynn charging higher time as of now so it's looking unlikely. Since i play at bell i'd be ok w it at bell given that i really dont play much at wynn or rw anymore. and u better believe that everytime i string together some decent wins in 80 i will go play 300.

There's a girl at uc davis involved in reporting me for being a bad TA (ye, i went from basically TA of the year to the worst ever TA in a year, go figure); chinese girl, needless to say, esp i am highly racist towards the chinggas. i was telling my colleague that if someone like that can be successful in theoretical physics like the female ed witten, i'd jump off the bridge; same applies to Ruth on being a successful cash player. for some reason Teddy thinks Ruth is goated; but then Teddy fuxking thinks nearly half the players are winning. There's a survival bias on stories like mike jordan's - oh in high school coach cut me, they didn't know i'd turn out to be a legend in the national league, now how'd u like them apples. But come on, the vast majority just turn out to be the character in that chinese poem "the pity of zhongyong"; in english it's like fade to be an average joe.

A few years ago I played a triple draw mix cash game at orleans or southpoint and there's a guy nicknamed Sydney (there's also a guy who is Sklansky's student who own 14k from a private nl2 game w lyle berman, obv u know why i mention David) and he heard i play w chris mchugh n he told me he used to work for jimmy mchugh, chris's dad; and asked me if i could hook him up for some loans n stuff. Found out that Sydney used to play 3k-6k then blew 3 mill on sports. You know, maybe I'll go broke one day (knock knock) but i can confidently say that i always gambled honestly and fairly. i do believe im cut out for gambling so gl to me.

Can you talk a bit about starting these games and how the lists operate in Vegas? How do you think this impacts game dynamics?

same as everywhere mostly.

for non established games ppl call in w a list n floor puts it up and first 8 starts. and the lists is generated privately prior to calling.

w 80 mix, rw or bell, theres floor in the group chat so he or she can know how many games we gon have and they'll put on the board existing list from chat then add on ppl who r in the casino looking to play altho the latter is rare

regarding game dynamics, there Are people who wait for the table draw to be done and see if mm is good they will play (Freddy Deeb sort of does it but i dont wanna accuse - just my suspicion; but idt he wins in the game)

for myself idc main or mm as long as not short
if u have 10 ppl lets not have 2 five handed games

however there are occasions where lets say its 6-5 and im in must move and im stuck ik i have no chance of getting unstuck esp if mm breaks etc whilst if im stuck in the main game ik night is young. its natural to feel that way. but just to be clear, its different from pick n choose in what lineups to play.

and recently, as Elezra comes in everyday and plays w us he has more than one person to xb w and it's the xb that affects the game - making ppl play better etc.

but tbh, all these things are small, im competent im skilled i believe im good, im happy to play, period.

these games are public but w private list. i may be able to find greg kelley or nathan gamble's description of it. They are not private private; even MJ had texted me before to see if i want a seat to start in his 25-50 nl game.

Just curious if you think this setup makes it harder for the random tourist or non-reg to end up in the game? It seems like that would hurt the game’s viability long term, but I’m not familiar at all with games that start like this. Only card rooms I’ve played in all just have public boards to start games.

before i started playing mix i saw 50-100 holdem i thought its insanely big; u know, like 50-100 NL that we see on TV.

then i play 8-16 omaha hilo I realize that 50-100 limit is only midstakes.

It's certainly harder to get regulars in the game - and as we speak there is a guy who last night wandered into the late night game when i wasnt there and today he shows up asking for a seat - i get his number and he will be looking to play tomorrow.

I can tell u how i got in at rw initially - i see on atlas that theres such a game, they play in the glassroom and i just walk in - gerhart welcomed me and it was him andrewyeh toddbrunson mikeparizon and 7-11 kevin - andrew added me to group chat and thats it

if u snow w worse than three cards u just 100% lose when i get called
however if u have good three card, there is no need to snow - just draw and realize ur equity

i played so ****ing bad today; i rivered low for chop twice in stud8 and broke a low correctly and sucked out on river right before the whale quit to be unstuck.

For some reason, played a 3 out of 10 rating session; so weird given that before i left my apartment this morning, mark johnson called me to tell me just play well don't tilt limit mistakes etc. just for me to put in one of the worst performances in the recent times. How miraculous is it that i get buried two sessions in a row and walk away unscathed.

i got to bell early as usual and there is an empty paigow table wanted to win a little before getting breakfast from the snack bar - i dump $15k at paigow it's ridiculous. three flags - a whole bankroll for 80 if i had no money.....

then i call my buddy and did the table draw for the 80 game then got breakfast.... my best friend's gf is in town as she's born in vegas and her me and a reg whos there early chatted it up pre game. then.... mister Ronald schiffman walks in first full day for me and asks seat one and eight to get up for him. I always sit seat 1 but idk mind so i move to 7....then he wins 5k in first couple hours and i get stuck 5k at peak 8k....No!!! let me take u into the journey of getting stuck 4racks...

first hour i didnt play a hand then came an Ari hand where i got scooped. u wont believe it even if i told you!!!!

Then....there comes a badeucey hand where Ron drew 2 and made 7-7 (my seat!!!!!!!!!!) and i got squeszed in the middle for five bets since Eli had 6-8

and i didnt realize i had a straight so unintentionally slowrolled him!
After a while he cooled down and obv i repeatedly apologized to him for the bad beat. should've taken a picture

after that i had two stud hi hand
in one i had an open ender and raised IP but Grant Pittman correctly recognized me not having his middle pair beat when we both caught a queen on fifth
in the other hand eli caught a 9 on sixth for hidden trips and i called him down w split kings; fuxking a million to one vs the guy who never bluffs in stud hi????

i was stuck about 8k at that point then i just played my way out - i did lose one cap in nl2 after that and won a cap in plo... but had a big scoop in drawmaha high and one in drawma2 then a-5 rush pretty much ended my day from a 4rack loser to up a few bets......INSANITY!

so tournaments - cant play much more esp no wsop cuz limited term id issue - rly cant make money unless i hv a big six fig score but so many ppl better than me at icm

cash game - up about 26k - running good in plo and up a bit in 80 but thats not the reason i wanna make this post
