ok so this is the truth
i am stuck 45k before today
and 60k after today in the pit

just let me get even and i'll be a good boy

$600 a day sounds so ****ing easy in the pit and 100 days of $600 i am even

or 600 sessions of $100 each.

i believe a -EV game is mathematically beatable. hm?

by ShawnMul82

I’m waiting…

(1) Bankroll
(2) Opponents
(3) + Variance
(4) Hours played
(5) Health & Rest

And, Chris McH, is the standard badreg complainer.
Ali - running good very pleasant and run bad miserable.

ok so not much about bkr and opponents - u obv needs to beat the game. then if u do then put in hours, we talk about this both thinking about peter rho - what a legend.

Variance is so clearly displayed by the said reg as he won heaps then last week including today lost about 26k. And he is so solid maaaaybe a lil loose in drawmaha but so good.

funnily regarding lifestyle Adi n i actually talked about that today; we left together at around 8p last night and he goes home, relax sleep n wakes up 6am go for a walk to fountainbleu or somewhere then breakfast exericse come to work at noon then play for 6-8 hours something like that. And he recommends the same for me.

i just have a tint of reminiscence about mchugh cuz he a co organizer of the 40-80 w alan levinson at rw first summer playing 40 n 80.

Ali, ye.....

You need to stop playing the pit games. Absolute zero. This story only ends one way if you don’t.

What are your poker goals?

Can you share results?

A while back I was asked this too on this site, but I don't remember what I said

I can tell you what I think as of right now
- make money consistently, beat the games you play.

last night when i repiled to Shawn i forgot to mention THE holy grail truth Adi said to me - "the tenet of cash games is to find a game u can beat n put as many hours into it as possible." That's why he is against me going to play 3-600 but do agree it's fine to parlay winnings up in that game even winning 500k straight.

now, that makes my decision of moving out of sacramento while crushing the 5-10 plo games there such an idiotic move. There is something beautiful about vegas games it attracts skilled n recreationals from all over the world - it gives you a false sense of oh mama i made it. My mind always wanders to when Fig told me at the table hey Jimmy you maybe the best player from sacramento but you'll find these vegas games hard to beat. Now i look around -
Adi best player from boston
Joe turgeon best player from shakopee
greg jamison best player from middle
nowhere alabama
bill house best player from some small place in conneticut
john monette best player from LA i wanna say?
ted forrest best player from syracuse
Grant pittman best player from ontario or somewhere in canada
daniel habl best player from berlin
this chinese kid best player from seattle wa

it is quite magnificent and i feel honored to he battling w them but the money certainly doesnt come from them. However, everybody is exploitable - even Adi i have seen some big mistakes in Drawmaha variants that I never told him about. Then now we are just talking about whether I am good enough to beat a tough lineup. anyway.

Now regarding results i am alway more old school about these things. keep it private/semi private
Esp now in the digital age it's so easy to fake data - i dont buy jack**** from these youtubers etc. I'm sure some are honest but no need to compare across we live in such different culture and environment.
But one thing u can count on is im always gonna be honest w myself n bookkeeping of my results.
i can give overview of monthly updates - i can tell you whether i am winning or losing in certain games w reasonable amount of time put in.

I've been asked why i dont share wins.
I just prefer not to. I like to complain when i lose whether i deserve to or not.
I'd play 5-10 nl if i win 1k u wont hear it likely but if i lose 1k i probably blast off here 😀

enjoy poker enjoy life, Adi Prasetyo, quite up there in age and quite wise, good role model. And of course, when he three bets me, he has Aces!

good/lucky month of work just to get wiped off by a 15k losing pit sesh aiyah

and now i am physically ill. Bigger aiyah!

by badugiwrap

oh how could i forget the PLO hand vs my bestie milgrom

on the turn he leads after XX flop on A598 two tone and i raise him w JJ77 and he calls. I river a 7 to win the hand with a set. Obviously I check back. Phewwwwwwwww -- he shows a 7 in his hand to confirm it's indeed a one outer 😃

Ye he told me yesterday he had aces up
i mean very within his calling range from sb vs MP open
and he swore he'd snapped me off on rivers which i fully believe. Just ran well, casual one outer haha

Don’t try to get “even”, just quit it. A lot of greats had their poker careers wiped out by pit losses. The temptation is real when you have an ugly losing session to think you can get unstuck from one hand in the pits. Then suddenly your entire bankroll is gone. Stick to poker. It seems like you have real skills there.

isnt that the truth!
The temptation is REAL.

when i was living in sac, i had a method - i would carry all stones chips when i go play at capitol. Maybe a thousand or two in cash; if i am stuck in the cap plo game, i can trade stones chips or zelle someone or have some reg float me.

Maybe I can do that in vegas too. Convert everything to wynn since i play Bell everyday.

Difference is casinos in vegas are within walking distance while cap n stones are 1 hour drive away!

imma miss these beige $2 chippies

they say Arizona is HOT!

This thread is golden, it will either be a case study in mental illness, or a story like rounders…

by badugiwrap

Here, me, Jimmy Tang, vows to never play a home game ever again. I have had enough with this. The floor chris schmitz at the wynn warned me about it but my two very rare plays had been small winners so I was happy to go help start the game, but I would rather lose 15k in baccarat than 1500 in a home game.

remember this?
from larry bergs home game

little did i know.... i did lose 15k in pit shortly after

im cursed

but i hope i prevail

returning to the felt

like my favorite player gareth bale

Don't bet against Chainsaw Kessler he's going to shock the haters this summer and most likely it will be the PPC 50k where the field is small.

Hope your bankroll survived the down swing Jimmy Tang.

Bump??

ik im sloppy on hh but man, the way hhs are written in this article makes phenom feel like such a joke company

this type of style of play os what ted told me to do - even at bacc table - when u r down to ur last 1k lets say theres a chance u just go big and win 100k+

ye i saw it - so sick right? chainsaw texted me for his own series at caesers palace (i think?) its fun to sweat him ngl

ye im ok ty; a reg from bell texted me too to check - i got some personal stuff to deal w and lately what i experienced in sacramneto w the bs prop and the violent landlady had been creeping up in my head n its hella mentally disturbing. ive been for the past couple weeks playing 2k, pvz, fm etc. its chill.

by ItsAboutTimeIAte

Bump??

i had a big fight w my parents in the beginning of april

they know i gamble and ive told them about my 80k upswing and 70k downswing among other things - they are aware of the shenanigans in sacramento and my dismissal from UC but ig they dont know the significance of certain mental aspects

they obv want me succeed in poker etc but im little unconfident i can win again for one reason or another.

this is what i said to the reg last week. but i mean lets not sugarcoat it - the amount of ppl who can be successful is so far n few in between i just try to fall within that 0.05%ish

rest assured - no bkr issue. i shouldnt be gambling if a low five fig can bankrupt me. i just wanna win which is different than staying in the game if that makes sense. i can be a billionaire and donate a million to 3-600 a year and still be a billionaire Or i can have only low six figs and win 100k a year (sometimes maybe lose 50k) - i'd take the latter. The money aspect (aside from whats needed to survive survive) is just numbers to keep score.

with dylan linde outing david peters, u gotta feel surprised. i learned about stud hi equities from dylans book. i spoke to him once regarding ranges.

this is pretty insane, everyone is broke.

One thing I get edicated from this industry is to never take anything at face value

whether you're winning or losing, whether you have other leaks, whether you have outstanding debts - you can choose to share or not, but at the end of the day, you are the only person deep down to know whats up. this provides me a bit solace in the case of the sexual harassment and being stiffed - those people, assuming they're capable of feeling guilt, will have to carry that embarrassment for the rest of their life. Does it mean anything? of course not. No one in the world cares.
But does it carry intrinsic meaning? Yes, you learn about urself n feel comfortable under ur skin.

thats why i like kessler - he's a pretty genuine person - poker skills aside wink wink

all these stuff w being stiffed is so sickening

i'd rather win 100k and no one owing me Than win 100 million while being owed 10k

so many bad actors

more life stuff to do

i really really want to get a lot of things settled before playing poker again.

i also appreciate much what my gf does.

in quantum mechanics there's this saying - shut up and calculate. it refers to eary days when physicists were computing some initial final quantum state matrix elements but not knowing exactly what the physical property of whatever they were calculating is and then a professor from i wanna say Harvard says just fricking calculate everything first then we'll see. It's before we understand quantum transition probability probably.

Anyway, same here, just shut up and grow up. There are spots in my life and in my journey that i massively regret (none w shot taking obv) - for example paying uc davis 20 some odd dimes when i coulda just man up and dropped out when they stopped paying me. seriously seriously though, not that many make it and maybe I just disappear in a few months' time. There are things bothering me in my head and I am not particularly a fan of my own lifestyle either. There are things that in theory should be kept to myself that i wanna share but i'll keep them private and hope they are locked away somewhere deep down. Nothing to do w a particular hand - i suck out on someone\i get bad beat by someone - it doesnt matter a single bit.

i swear, if i handle current life stuff properly and (try to) fix relationship w my parents, i'll hold onto maturity for dear life. at the end of the day, skill alone doesnt mean success - being a professional player entails so so much.

Elite post ^^^ agreed. Also, Peter’s posted, looks like he’s trying to make things right with Linde. I had posted in your thread a month or so ago wondering along these lines of how well or bad financially these big name pros are really doing when you were talking about Soverel backing Chino. It’s all so murky to the public on what is really going on behind the scenes and how good/bad these pros are really doing when you take into consideration backing, makeup, etc
