I don't think there are as many people like the bolded as you're led to believe. I'm certainly capable of reading a room and keeping things light and friendly. I believe the most likely explanation for this idea that millions of MAGA are alienating their families is because the type of person to rant about their family on the internet is more likely to be a lefty who is very easily triggered and lacks basic social skills. Without going into any detail, we've got some members of the alphabet mafia in my family and they're treated with every bit of respect that anyone else is. Some of the old ladies will try to convince them to see the error of their ways, but it never gets heated and nobody has ever stormed out of a room or declined an invite that I'm aware of.

Missed TWO light cycles on 27th and Fond Du Lac Ave this morning on the way in because of some City bus doing who the **** knows what. If I weren't a law-abiding citizen, I'd have just ignored the "No right turns in front of bus" signage and gone around it.

Sure, but that doesn’t mean he drone striked children in the same way that he drone striked a wedding. The wedding was the actual event that was drone striked, and I presume that the event was picked out precisely because intelligence said they would be at that wedding. But I don’t think you could find a single case of someone picking out a particular child and killing the child for the sake of killing them.

I think a presidential sign-off was always required, and under Obama it escalated to a practically everyday basis.

I'll be hanging out with a bunch of old friends this weekend. And there will be tons of guys I grew up with. It's an absolute certainty that a number of them will bring up politics completely unprompted(a common theme for the conservatives ime)--not necessarily to rant but it will definitely have the common vibe it always has. For a number of them when we're hanging out alone and say the wife/kids come home they'll say a quick something like we should probably stop talking about politics(which I never brought up or cared to talk about to begin with lol) likely because they've already had their fill years ago and are done with hearing it 😀 At other places where it's toggling sports/fox politics will just be brought up because it always is 😀

Yes lethal violence: because everytime you make something illegal you need to be willing to use lethal violence down the line to people who don't comply (you start by sending them law enforcement,they refuse , AT SOME POINT it's either you are ok with them being shot or not. It is absolutely fine , and it should be normalized, to have discussions, even long discussions, about where exact to put the limits, what to make illegal and why, how to change things if they don't work, what to tax, how much and why and much more.

Actual real democracy does require active participation. AND ALL OPINIONS WHICH ARE VALID WITHIN THE CONSTITUTION should be never ostracized again, if you actually want a democratic discourse.
