President Donald Trump

I assume it's still acceptable to have a Trump thread in a Politics forum?

So this is an obvious lie - basically aimed at

That's from 2015. The 48/52 split is now probably closer to 20/80.

The Cruz / Hillary difference is kind of interesting.

Yeah, I expect it's gone up for Trump supporters. I couldn't find anything more recent though.

It's nazism to ignore jurisprudence to sentence a man to certain death in a hostile foreign jail. But to your point, words mean nothing to minds poisoned by partisan beliefs.

certain death? now that the mistake has been recognized el salvador will send him back. It's not nazism to have a failure rate in wrongly punishing innocents which is higher than 0 ffs.

EDIT: story is unclear and contradicting online mainstream sources.

Uh, the position of the Trump gov on this is that they will not do anything to bring him back, they won’t even ask because it could harm the relationship with El Sal, and that no court has the power to make them even try.

They’re not even acknowledging it’s a mistake. It’s just part of the process.

Trump supporters are explicitly ok with this and worse.

Even Sanders supporters are an abomination on this question. I can't imagine thinking that red is the correct answer here.

How many of these 20,000 innocent people in prison are true law-abiding citizens and how many of them were career criminals three-striked back into shackles on some questionable grounds for their latest charge?

How many of them are left over from the 70s when state prosecutors were still using, "W" and "N" on their jury selection notes to describe potential jurors?

In a vacuum, I'd probably agree with the Bernie Bros, but I'd also point it out as a ludicrous premise. It's actually fairly difficult to get thrown into prison in 2025, and we're not just rounding up innocent bystanders. America clearly needs more people in prison, because I can't go more than 2 days without hearing gunshots outside my house. If guns are being fired by citizens, someone is doing something that justifies some time in the clink to think about what they've done.

Wow someone doesn't understand the idea of hypothetical.

Not if the US empire collapses. The trajectory of Trump 2.0 indicates it's not out of the question.

Or Trump is a masterful economic genius. The kind of genius who can go bankrupt while taking in 5% of every dollar that goes through his hands.

A complete collapse of the US is completely out of the question in the short and medium term. The only shot the US had to completely collapse in the next 100 years completely evaporated the day trump allowed doge to go in and drastically cut govt spending.

the delusion is real

Its a very poorly worded question

This is a wild claim. Surely for someone who works with money to say this you have projected a scenario where the US collapsed?

Surely you aren't just saying that because Trump and Musk told you the country was on the verge of collapse?

I agree, but I don't have any reason to believe that a significant percentage of respondents didn't understand the question.

Hm no the position in court is that this isn't a court matter anymore as there is no jurisdiction. But they didn't say they won't ask el salvador.

They called it an administrative error themselves, from the admin..

at 1:1 ratio you need to be a complete monster to answer innocents in jail isn't the worse case of the 2, to the point i think people didn't understand the question.

So all the gov has to do to get rid of political dissidents now is to send them to El Salvador since the courts won’t have jurisdiction?

Almost like a detention camp in another country is a disgusting abomination.

I would assume the "error" was intentional and the implication is the intent

but on the plus side it shows that clinton stans are who we thought they were. imagine being outflanked on the left by ted cruz lmao

Never trump's fault.

https://www.politico.com/news/2025/04/01...

While Americans and much of the world brace for a possible season of pain following the imposition of the new tranche of tariffs, Trump’s orbit is ready to play the blame game should things go poorly for the White House. And all the fingers will be pointing at Lutnick, two people close to the administration, granted anonymity to discuss the private dynamics, told POLITICO.

Oh ok. I guess I misread what they filed.

So they’re going to try and get this guy back right?

Yep, anyone answering red there? It's very hard to accept. Being on the right side of blackstone's ratio is like a minimum for being a decent person in a functioning liberal (in the John Locke sense) democracy.

Can’t they shoot just for fun , hunting or training ?

But I guess shooting innocent people with so many guns existing should happen too shrug

He is not an American citizen so no. Bit if El Salvador wants to, they can send him back.

For su e you agree american taxpayers never gave any obligation to use any american state resources to improve the quality of life of any non citizen in general right? That's a very basic political tenet of non immigrationists.

Trump knows how to gather loyal soldiers to go at the bat for him.
I give him that .
