Telling the truth is the start. If we can’t call out the horrible effects Trump is causing your economy - and threatening far worse - it is hard to make meaningful progress.

While the liberal led Canada free trade agreement was fantastic and under appreciated work, a lot of the remaining things are fairly minor. Like different provincial health authorities have different standards for first aid kits. Sure, you can fix some of those details but it is a pathetic bandaid in comparison to the devastation of 25 percent tariffs.

Im all for provinces removing interprovincial trade barriers, but its just objectively tiny in comparison to the trump threats. And the Liberals already did the biggest and easiest things in the CFTA which was exemplary and underreported accomplishment of the liberals. So yes I applaud working more, but we can’t pretend that this is some magic bullet to save us from Trump.

You should read Zelenskyy timeline. It consists of him thanking world leader after world leader after world leader who have come out in a statement very similar to Trudeau’s. I’m proud that Trudeau bravely says what is right and doesn’t cower behind “angering Trump”. Heck Poilievre also tries to mimic what Trudeau and the rest do so I guess you gotta condemn him too if you want to condemn Trudeau. But he ****s up and adds in partisan campaign slogans to the message. That’s repulsive. It’s not the first time I’ve called him out for this when a world event happens, and it’s not the first time you’ve failed to.

How is this still confusing. Every other major western world leader put out a statement of support like Trudeau’s on Twitter after the fiasco of Trump. Even poilievre tried to do it, but as has happened repeatedly he can’t help but slip in his campaign slogans like “common sense conservatives” into his message. It’s unseemly. There are moments for campaign rhetoric, and there are moments to set that aside. It’s a question of common sense which is which.

Zelensky has been in important meetings, met with a lot of big important and dangerous people. Trump/JD just spanked him in front of the world. I can only imagine what goes on when Trudeau is sitting in front of them.

This bit from the Trumpkins is really pernicious. Acting like supporting Ukraine means you "want the war to continue". Of course I and Zelensky and world leader after world leader tweeting out support yesterday wants the war to end. It is just ridiculous to suggest otherwise. My heart breaks for the Ukrainians bravely defending their country against the murderous, child-stealing tyrant. However, we also recognize basic truths. Like that there is one man on the planet responsible for the continued fighting: the aggressor. And that the aggressor has not wanted a peace agreement in 3 years. And that a "ceasefire" without security guarantees is extremely likely to result in precisely what happened the last time there was a ceasefire - a chance for Putin to reset and attack again.

I haven't seen any world leaders speak the way Trump did yesterday about the war needing to stop and the amount of unesscary death that has occured, how he wants peace. All the other leaders just tweet out their support for Ukraine which has done nothing but add more soldiers into the meat grinder. Zelensky himself said yesterday the war doesn't end without the US. Moral clarity is wanting Trump to be successful and the war to end.

Then you are so trapped in your bubble you can’t see basic facts. EVERYONE wants peace, wants the war to end, wants to stop unnecessary deaths. Except Putin, of course, who could stop it immediately. The schism between the US and the rest of west in recent weeks at the U.N. and at the White House is not a debate of wanting peace ffs, it’s a debate about whether security guarantees are needed to sustain peace, about whether accurately blaming Putin for his atrocities is reasonable, about whether criticizing Ukraine and Zelenskyy as being a “dictator” is reasonably, and about whether trying to pilfer Ukraine’s mineral wealth is reasonable. A lot of stupid trump ****. But none of that is a debate about wanting peace.
