Edit: RULES FOR THIS THREAD
Posting guidelines for Politics and Soci...
These are our baselines. We're not reinventing the wheel here. If you aren't sure if something is acceptable to post, its better to ask first. If you think someone is posting something that violates the above guidelines, please report it or PM me rather than responding in kind.
To reiterate some of the points:
1. No personal attacks. This is a broad instruction, but, in general, we want to focus on attacking an argument rather than the poster making it. It is fine to say a post is antisemitic; it is not okay to call someone an antisemite over and over. If you believe someone is making antisemitic posts, report them or PM me. The same goes for calling people "baby killers" and "genocide lovers". You are allowed to argue that an action supports genocide or that the consequences of certain policies results in the death of children, but we are no longer going to be speaking to one another's intentions. It is not productive to the conversation and doesn't further any debate.
2. Racist posts and other bigoted statements that target a particular group or individuals of such groups with derogatory comments are not allowed. This should not need further explanation.
3. Graphic Images need to be in spoilers with a trigger warning.
4. Wishing Harm on other posters will result in an immediate timeout.
5. Genocidal statements such as "Kill 'em all" etc, are no longer permissible in the thread.
If anyone has any questions about the above, please PM me. I don't want a discussion about the rules to derail the content of this thread. If anything needs clarifying, I will do that in this thread.
Please be aware this thread is strictly moderated
You guys might want to start a support group. It’s only going to get worse for your Axis of Resistance.
ISRAEL opened the border with gaza so that gazans can work
in 2022 there were 20,000 work permits
in 2023 they raised it to 150,000 work permits
there had been no issues. Israel decided to let an additional 130,000 people have a better life, and loosened the border
and what happened?
oh Israel decided to throw some scraps to the people they have blockading and exploiting for decades? they should be so grateful. and dont act like they did this out of the goodness of their hearts. Israel benefited from cheap exploitative labor
No. Some people think that flattening Gaza and murdering a hundred thousand Palestinians is a good way to prevent an Oct 7 attack. I was just pointing out that you could also prevent an Oct 7 attack by stationing a few thousand soldiers near the Gaza border.
no you prevent it by ending the illegal occupation and ****ing off back to the 1967 borders as Hamas and the Palestinians have asked for nearly 20 years.
but thats an impossibility for a colonial expansionist state to accept so, as terrorist Nelson Mandela said
"Choose peace rather than confrontation. Except in cases where we cannot get, where we cannot proceed, or we cannot move forward. Then if the only alternative is violence, we will use violence.”

Well, that is done now. Of course Egypt never let Palestinians in, as they calculated the benefits from cheap labor would be outweighed by political risks.
So the people of Gaza are now penned in by 2 countries that refuse to exploit their labor force. Seems like a big win for them.

I wonder if they would resort to building tunnels instead? Hypothetical, of course. No way to prove this would happen. You genius.

Israel had bombed Gaza a several times earlier in 2023. Very strange strategy to bomb Gaza every couple months, but take zero precautions against retaliation by Hamas. Almost makes you wonder if the people in charge wanted October 7 to happen.
do you have anything productive to add, or did you just stop by as usual to make some trolly sarcastic posts about israel bombing **** while ignoring what caused this?
I feel like I asked you a very simple and completely legitimate question that you could have answered. It's plainly dishonest for you to appeal to AI when they call out Hamas's crimes and then disregard what AI says about the IDF's conduct:
oh Israel decided to throw some scraps to the people they have blockading and exploiting for decades? they should be so grateful. and dont act like they did this out of the goodness of their hearts. Israel benefited from cheap exploitative labor
Hamas had not attacked them in some time, and yes they tried to be peaceful and allow gazans to earn a living wage since in gaza, they could not.
the average daily wage for the workers was over 5x what they would make in gaza
the fact that it increased from under 10,000 in 2020 to 20,000 in 2022 to 150,000 in 2023 shows that when Hamas is not actively attacking israel, Israel is good to the people. They can loosen the border and allow passage without having a strict 100% blockade. and then boom.
October 7th proved that checkpoints and strict border control is necesary.
Gazans will not be allowed to work in Israel if Hamas stays in power. Israel should have better security at the border? you will get your wish. And any time somebody tries to breach it, they will be stopped. And when somebody gets killed you can call israel murderers again
congrats

We’re still waiting on info on the Jewish space lasers. Please focus on one antisemitic conspiracy theory at a time.

Israel stopped occupying Gaza in 2005. When a terrorist organization won the election, and vowed to destroy Israel, both Israel and Egypt decide to control the borders for their own safety
Since 1967 Israel has given up Gaza and Sinai. Doesn't sound like expansionism to me
i am impressed though
it is impossible for you to reply without buzzword adjectives
"colonial expansionist state" might be my favorite

i don't feel like reporting posts, but this is vile
"Israel wanted this to happen"
stfu please

"the girl was wearing a short mini-skirt, she wanted it to happen"
gross
if anyone was wondering
it is true that the avg wage in israel is 5 times that of gaza
but only about 2x that of the West Bank
maybe because the Palestenian Authority, who is far from perfect, at least cares about its constiuency while Hamas does not?
it is pretty incompetent to think that commiting October 7th would not lead to a destruction of gaza infrastructue and/or hamas being destroyed
Very incompetent
no?
or you thought israel would say "wow, oct 7 was a suprised you got us. well played"?
Israel's response is exactly what everyone knew it would be. If you didn;t know, you are incompetent
so i disagree that this is what israel wanted, but in actuality this is what hamas wanted -- israel to react how they did and gain some world sympathy
hezbollah getting involved weakened iran so much that they decided to abandon the cause, and here we are
Why would Israel need to allow Oct 7th to happen? In your mind, they’ve been invading, raping and murdering for decades without any justification or consequences. What changed before Oct 7th?
I actually didnt think that Israel would respond in this way. or at least to this extent.

seeing the responses from the axis of genocide aka USA Germany and UK, its pretty clear they didnt need Oct 7th to justify a genocide.

Yes, it was a terrible idea for Hamas to do the Oct 7 attack, Israel flattening Gaza in response is not surprising. That does not mean it is morally justifiable. Anyone participating in or enabling the genocide of the Palestinians is evil.
Again there is no genocide.

It absolutely does though. There is no genocide happening, just a complex effort to eradicate a very malignant group of people. Not only Hamas proper per se, but anyone who agrees with them, who helped them materially ever in the last 15+ years and so on.
And every non-guilty palestinian who dies, only dies because of Hamas and associates. Every single one of them.
Hamas, the other terrorist groups, and everyone agreeing with it and so on should unconditionally surrended and the death of innocents would stop tomorrow. If they don't, every death of an innocent is caused by them, not Israel, which has a crystal clear moral right to do absolutely anything necessary at any cost without absolutely no limit ever to guaranteed it's security.
Every genocide has deniers as it happens and often deniers long after it has happened. As I said before:
Israeli soldiers say they are murdering Palestinians in Gaza
Palestinians in Gaza say they are being murdered by Israeli soldiers
Doctors and aid workers in Gaza say Israeli soldiers are murdering Palestinians.
Everyone in Gaza agrees what is going on, and yet a bunch of posters in this thread can't seem to figure it out.
