Edit: RULES FOR THIS THREAD

2+2 Rules

Posting guidelines for Politics and Soci...

These are our baselines. We're not reinventing the wheel here. If you aren't sure if something is acceptable to post, its better to ask first. If you think someone is posting something that violates the above guidelines, please report it or PM me rather than responding in kind.

To reiterate some of the points:

1. No personal attacks. This is a broad instruction, but, in general, we want to focus on attacking an argument rather than the poster making it. It is fine to say a post is antisemitic; it is not okay to call someone an antisemite over and over. If you believe someone is making antisemitic posts, report them or PM me. The same goes for calling people "baby killers" and "genocide lovers". You are allowed to argue that an action supports genocide or that the consequences of certain policies results in the death of children, but we are no longer going to be speaking to one another's intentions. It is not productive to the conversation and doesn't further any debate.

2. Racist posts and other bigoted statements that target a particular group or individuals of such groups with derogatory comments are not allowed. This should not need further explanation.

3. Graphic Images need to be in spoilers with a trigger warning.

4. Wishing Harm on other posters will result in an immediate timeout.

5. Genocidal statements such as "Kill 'em all" etc, are no longer permissible in the thread.

If anyone has any questions about the above, please PM me. I don't want a discussion about the rules to derail the content of this thread. If anything needs clarifying, I will do that in this thread.

Please be aware this thread is strictly moderated
idf are withdrawing troops from Gaza to protect military police from the rioters.

this is all bc some leaders want the guards to be able to rape prisoners and some dont?

The military doesn’t let civilians or police dictate what they do.

“Turkey threatens…” interpreted as an unhinged threat from Israel. You can’t make this **** up lmao

it seems like the civilians are trying to stop the MP's from doing their job. and succeeding.

nobody believes Ergodan's "threats". hes full of **** and while he may be talking big, he is shipping tons of aid to Israel and helping to run the Houthi blockade.

looks like Israel is now going after the Christian Islamists

I predict this bomb will be returned to sender. at this point Israel is dropping so many bombs that the Resistance has essentially an unlimited amount of ammo to fight with.

Israeli leaders were literally arguing that it is ok to rape a "Nukba terrorist" today.

I dunno maybe the translation is wrong.

This is wild. Has netanyahu told these lunatics to go home and let justice take it's course? I'm sure after Abu ghraib there was a decent minority of people that thought nothing should happen to those soldiers but the balls on these folks.

The Israeli people seem much more outraged over prisoner abuse than Americans were during Iraq; hats off to them.

ya its surreal and funny but its actually deeply disturbing. we have been hearing these claims since early in the year from survivors and they were always dismissed.

and most of the people abused or raped are not Hamas and def not Nuhkba (lol). not that anyone deserves.

as an aside, one of the sentiments I have read from certain Israeli's is that rape is wrong and bad and this should not have happened. instead, they should have been executed. I guess thats the centrist pov?

left wing Zionists doing an "are we the baddies?" moment

but the polio thing that Trolly mentioned is probably worse than this for a variety of reasons I may post about at some other time.

The link is to a reel of videos of topical news items. I assume by context you want me to comment on the one relating to an Israeli official visiting the village that Hezbollah attacked. Well, my thoughts are there are a number of agitated people speaking in a language I dont understand. Then at the end you can hear one guy (maybe 2?) yelling in a language I dont understand, and this is interpreted by the CNN commentator as "dozens of people" calling the Israeli PM a murderer etc.

There aren't even dozens of people in the video, much yet yelling. So if the CNN commentator is telling the truth, they dont seem to be commenting on the contents of the video.

fake news!

"Netanyahu, Halevi, Defense Minister Yoav Gallant, and President Isaac Herzog all harshly criticized the rioting outside Sde Teiman base and appealed for calm"

So for the record, 95% of news from mainstream Jewish sources is Zionist lies, such as all the reported sexual abuse on 10/7. But the 5% that confirms your own biases is revealed truth. Correct?

Also, looks like this is a story of a liberal, democratic society with an independent free press exposing abuses by military during a war*. And then rioters rioting and interfering in police matters, which is something that happens in the US a lot (see left wing rioting during the Summer of Floyd). And most Israeli officials condemning the rioting.

*Something that one would never find in any of the countries you support; which have no liberal values or free press.

Victor, the fact that there are major clashes among both the citizenry and the parliament indicates to me that Israel is far from as monolithic as you have alleged.

From my perspective, the major perpetrators are mainly Netanyahu and the Likud party. Maybe narrow your focus. It would be more accurate imo.

That article quotes 2 specific hecklers and intimates there were more. Seems to be a much more accurate portrayal of what was on the video than the CNN correspondent who alleged "dozens of people" denouncing the PM (last time I checked a dozen is 12, so multiple dozens implied at least 24, and normally more).

If your argument is that shortly after the incident a number of affected in the community lashed out at the Israeli minister (and by extension the right wing govt) as responsible for the chain of events that led to the tragedy, then I accept this happened.

The article says they asked the government officials not to attend the funerals or make a political spectacle of the event, and the government officials went anyway. They were driven out.

I am asking you to explain the reason for why they were asked not to attend and were subsequently ejected?

by jalfrezi k

Is there some event this tweet is referring to? Something all of a sudden happened?

proly the allegedly credible organized mass rape accusations that reached the mainstream Western press.
