Moderation Questions
The last iteration of the moderation discussion thread was a complete disaster. Numerous attempts to keep it on topic failed, and it became a general discussion thread with almost no moderation related posts at all. And those that were posted were so buried in non-mod posts that it became a huge time drain on the mods to sort through them. Then, when off topic posts were deleted posters complained about that.
This led to the closing of the mod discussion thread, replaced by the post report/pm approach. This has filtered out lots of noise, but has resulted at times in the General Discussion Thread turning into a quasi-mod thread. This is not desirable, but going back to the old mod thread is also not a workable option.
Therefore, I have created this new moderation thread, but with a different purpose and ground rules than previous mod threads. The purpose of this thread is to provide a place for posters to pose questions to the mods about how policies are applied; to bring to the mods attention posts they think are inappropriate and reach the level of requiring mod action; and for mods to communicate to posters things like changes or clarifications to policies, bannings, etc.
Now let me tell you what this thread is NOT a place for. It is not for nonmoderation related posts, even if the discussion originates from a comment in in a mod related post. It is not for posters to post their opinions about other posters or whether a poster should be banned. It is not to rehash past grievances about mod decisions from months or years ago. The focus of this thread will be recent posts that require action now. Or questions about current policies and enforcement.
So basically, this is a thread to ask mods questions. Which means, pretty much that only mods should be answering those questions. If a poster asks why a particular post was deleted or allowed, only a mod can answer that. Everyone else who wants to jump in with their opinion or their mod war story needs to stay out of it. It just increases the noise to signal ratio and does nothing to answer the question.
Everyone needs to understand that this thread has very different rules than the old mod thread and any other thread. Any non-moderation post will be deleted on sight. Not moved to the appropriate thread, just deleted. So don't waste your time crafting a masterpiece post about wars or transgender issues or the presidential election and then post it in this thread. It will be gone. Also, this isnt a thread for general commentary about our mods performance. Posting "browser sucks as a mod" or any such posts that don't actually ask about a policy or request a mod action will be deleted. Everyone is entitled to their opinion about the moderation of this forum. But this thread isnt for complaining about mods. You are free to go to the ATF forum and make your concerns about modding in this forum there.
So with that intro, this thread is open for those who need to bring questions about mod policies or bring inappropriate posts to the mods attention. Again, it is NOT a thread for group discussions about other posters or for other posters to answer questions directed to mods.
We'll see how this goes. If you have what you feel is an open issue raised in the General Discussion Thread, please copy that post or otherwise reintroduce the issue here.

I don't know. You could try making a post or two with some actual content for a change instead of sniping about how other people post.

I've made half a dozen posts with content in the last couple of weeks. My reluctance to post is due to a few reasons. First, I'm not on here enough clicking refresh to sustain a decent conversation. Second, I'm no expert in most of what we're discussing and don't feel like debating with someone who believes they're an expert when they're not. Third, I have no interest in talking to someone who cannot admit they're wrong. The bad thing about this forum is it's full of these types of posters.
I get a lot of value from this forum as it's a good slice of many different viewpoints and there are a few posters here worth listening to. I stopped reading X when Trump won and realized I should have when Musk purchased it. The "For you" is hot garbage and my curated list was an echo chamber of my views so wasn't beneficial to learning.
What everyone needs to do, on both sides, is question everything that you read and hear and get the **** out of your echo chamber of news, wherever it comes from. Right now the MAGA folks are suffering the worst as Trump and Musk are known to lie yet there are thousands of people out there, including a half a dozen people here, that suck up everything they say without question. It's also happening on the left if you feel like you want to "both sides" me. I am directly affected (effected?) by this **** Musk is doing and it's causing huge stress in my personal life. Anyone who thinks he's going about this in any sort of responsible manner needs to take a step back and think about what the real goal is.

I did a simple search of magatard and there were only four hits and one was this thread. I didn't expand the search on the other names, just magatard since it's the closest thing to libtard. I agree the other variations are out there.
Point is, the quality of post greatly diminishes when people used any of those nicknames. I do chuckle at a lot of them and if it were a contest, many of PB's nicknames would win. What was the most recent, ice cream joe or something? I literally loled when I read that.
I have an idea. When you go to an AMP they ask if you want your massage to be soft, medium or hard. What if we use those parameters for how each individual in the forum would like to be engaged. Nothing bothers me so I would be color coded a certain way. Some folks are ultra sensitive so they would be color coded another way. I may just choose not to respond to certain people who aren't receptive to my truthful yet harsh dialogue. Instead of people snitching on each other we just speak to those who are receptive to our way of communicating.
Let me ask you this: the american VP just went to Europe to make a speech, how can it make sense for an american political forum not to be allowed to discuss the content of his speech with all it's ramifications, and to endorse it in full or in part?

i agree I wrote stuff elsewhere (I clouding on Twitter) which would be Autoban here (mostly about race and genetics in general)
I do accept the moral depravity theme. I am willing to explicitly tell what's necessary to get what we want from the right and that entails a lot of thing that most people aren't willing to admit explicitly (even if they vote for it ). some things we need to do would cause the death and suffering of a lot of people

An untethered Luc would be problematic here. If he chooses to have a thread where he can post AND be forbidden to post in any other P&S thread, I would investigate that option with the current owner. I have read and received opinions on Luc from many... that think this option is ideal.
But where does it stop? MrDavit Blog? BJ Blog? Should P&S become a 2nd Blog area of 2+2?
I've actually never insulted a person on here. I play by the rules but for some reason I've been targeted for speaking my mind. This is why I don't post much in the I/P thread.

I haven't seen those posts of yours with content, only the ones of you complaining about other posters using nicknames. So I apologize if I got that wrong.
Secondly, you may find this hard to believe but I have never had an X/twitter account. So I don't get curated lists or w/e garbage some AI bot wants me to see. Most of the tweets I post on here are from articles I happen to be reading at the time that interest me. I find them more useful for making a point about something you may be discussing without requiring a lot of time on the part of the reader. The short video clips are especially useful imo because of the short attention spans people have these days. Posting youtubes is a waste of time for that reason.
By the way most of us are just giving our non-expert opinions here fwiw. And at the end of the day it's just text from anonymous randoms on the internet So, it pays to not take anything you read here too seriously imo.

I was thinking it might be a temporary space open for x days where he can pour out his heart, not only for his benefit but also so that people can be quite clear about who he really is.
