RFK - Make America Healthy? again?
I believe this guy is going to need his own thread.

A department spokesperson confirmed Louisiana Surgeon General Ralph Abraham had ordered his staff to stop engaging in media campaigns and community health fairs to encourage vaccinations, even as the state has experienced a surge in influenza.
well, duh
“Public health is really united on this issue: For more than a century, vaccines of all kinds have been a cornerstone of improving public health in America,” Avegno told the city council on Thursday. “There’s not scientific debate on this, this is as close as you can get to established fact that vaccinations, particularly mass vaccinations, and community immunity, saves millions and millions of lives.”
I wouldn't take my cat to you.
Sure. Took less than two seconds to find out that the authors are conflating "identifying ways bird flu could be transmitted to humans" with "trying to make bird flu transmittable to humans."

By identifying mutations that might allow this to occur, Kawaoka and his colleagues hope they can develop an early warning system that will make it easier to predict the pandemic potential of influenza viruses.
“The improved ability to predict whether a virus has pandemic potential would be an invaluable asset to the global community,” Kawaoka says. “Millions of lives might be saved if intervention methods — such as social distancing, antiviral compound distribution, and vaccine development/production — could be implemented early.”
Pro tip for anyone reading along on this: when one of the anti-vax nuts starts screaming about a study that proves how dangerous the spike protein is, 99% of the time the study is about the viral spike protein. It should take just a second to look at the study to find out. They have no idea there's a difference and confirmation bias will lead them down this path over and over again.
For the record, the "esteemed" Robert Malone even cited a paper to support his crackpot BS making the exact same "mistake" (I believe he knew better and was just using it to grift).

Well, it took me all of 2 seconds (not 1 second but w/e) to confirm that you are lying through your teeth again grasshopper.
To further investigate prior history of SARS-CoV-2 infections, plasma specimens were analyzed using the EUA-cleared Elecsys® anti-SARS-CoV-2 immunoassays, which measure the presence of high affinity IgM, IgA, and IgG anti-N antibodies.
Most notably, we found elevated levels of spike (S1 and full473 length S) in circulation up to 709 days after vaccination among a subset with PVS, even
in those with no evidence of detectable SARS-CoV-2 infection.
Spoiler
Get a Brian, Moran!

JFC are you still trying? The entire premise was based on trying to see if there was an asymptomatic infection that they didn't know about. So yeah, obviously the infection was undetected you absolute buffoon. I mean, wow. Care to explain how the vaccine produced the viral spike protein which I clearly demonstrated they said they detected? lol. Completely clueless yet incredibly confident and condescending. The magical combination.
It only took you 2 seconds but you disappeared for 6 hours only to come back and demonstrate that you still have no idea what the basic premise of the study was.
I think my favorite part is you still including completely irrelevant passages just in case they are meaningful. You have absolutely no idea what you are reading.

WOW
7 minutes. That was quick. Lol

The tests they used could detect asymptomatic infections, you mouth breathing moran.
Because unlike you, I actually understand the study. I don't need to go comb over it looking for things that might possibly trick someone into believing you have a gotcha (I know you know better by now and are just flailing around desperately trying to save face).
BJ. The elevated spike proteins are evidence of prior infection. There was no evidence PRIOR TO THAT FINDING. This isn't even that complicated. I mean some things I would say you need to have some basic medical knowledge to understand, but this is just plain english my guy. To be as clear as possible, the "those with no evidence of detectable infection" is referring to part of one of the cohorts in the study (those with PVS but no infection reported - the other cohorts/parts were PVS + infection and the control of vaccinated and no adverse events). One of the goals of the study was to examine those in this particular cohort to see if they had an asymptomatic infection (600-700 days earlier - so this was the only way it was going to be detected reliably) and they detected some VIRAL spike protein circulating. This CONFIRMS that they did indeed have UNDETECTED asymptomatic covid infections.

Now, they did some testing to determine past history of infections but since it was so long after, these tests are completely unreliable. In fact, they were counted as having the infection even if they only reported it but showed no anti-N antibodies. This is because it is not unusual to show none this long afterwards especially in non-immuno-typical cases.

BUT
Tell you what, you go right on thinking you've cracked the case. It's what you are going to do anyway. I'm doing work and watching the hockey game. That's what I'll be doing. I might come back and later and either debunk your stupidity some more or just laugh. We'll see how I feel.
RFK please save us
I'm sure the decision to pause research into infectious diseases will come in clutch for us, don't worry.
Absent of the deaths COVID was a phenomenal time to not live like a scared little bitch.
No traffic, lines, or crowds. Cheap flights, cheap stays. Full blown commitment to remote work. I basically lived in Cozumel
But the whole mask thing broke pathetically weak minds like rotten wood in a wood chipper

I mean some of that was good, but it sucked greatly. Especially depending where you lived and what their regulations were.
Of course if you're a single dude and free to go wherever, yes go somewhere fun.
If you have a young kids, pets, it's a little more difficult..
Lack of sports, restaurants closed, golf courses closed, everything sucked about it.
I'm happy you were happy during that horrendous time.

Golf courses were opened, the sport boomed which unfortunately made it harder to get tee times.
I started doing BJJ in the middle of COVID. Pairing off with strangers and choking each other was a good way to stay sane during the pandemic.
I think I was one of the few who actually started drinking less and eating better during covid - I enjoyed my me time and I'm kind of an introvert.
But the amount of mental illness across all ages is pretty insane - im seeing like 64% increase in antidepressant use since then and that is pretty strong. We ****ed ourselves up for a many years to come.
You don't need to try to tie yourself in knots trying to defend this stuff. It's plainly obvious that trusted experts and officials weren't truthful at times, and that has damaged the public's trust in institutions. They were also doing their best to protect the public and anti-vax conspiracy theorists have been loons spreading disinformation. None of those things are mutually exclusive.
When govts are doing vaccine pushes coloring outside the lines a little has been kinda standard for a long time.
eg. Polio vax--Tastes Great! lol
Trump here talking about the huge rates of autism in US kids and dropping some hints about what may be causing it.
