TV: what have you been watching?
I think The Walking Dead may be the best drama thats currently airing/in production.
There, I said it.
people are more likely to tune in order to get unanswered questions answers
lost, who shot jr, i first experienced it with x-men the cartoon, which had lots of episodes hinting at and dealing with mysterious origins of various character's pasts and then instead of given an answer, the next episode would jump ahead to a new storyline instead, leaving those questions unanswered and you tune again next week hoping for results but they never come and then the show is cancelled
Absolutely Fabulous popped up on the Hulu recommended list. I used to watch it all the time back in my stoner days (along with The Young Ones, which I can't find anywhere).
I didn't think my wife would care for it, but we gave it a shot. Much to my surprise, she really likes it.
AbFab is so great
Been watching Fauda, an Israeli show about an IDF special unit combatting terrorism, on Netflix is really good. I've only watched season one, but enjoying it so far.

Jesus, you guys have a lot of time to watch broadcast content... :p
I have been between semesters since December 14th through yesterday, so I have had little to do but watch movies during that time. And it takes until about two weeks into the semester before the working of prep and responding to papers begins. That, and my full time teaching position is three days a week for a total of ten hours in the classroom.

I enjoyed Fauda a lot. I have some strong views about that **** show, so was worried it’d be politicised propaganda trash, but felt they did a very good and fair job. Reminded me quite a bit of the Shield.
I have a student, about 18 or 19, in my writing class who has seen every episode of The X-Files. When I said my favorite episode was Postmodern Prometheus, she said Season 5, Episode 5.
She also said she knows every line from one episode by heart. Like where do these kids come from?

aspergers, 30 years ago before internet they would have read a baseball alamanac for fun and it would have been the batting average of Phillie's 3rd basemen
now that data comes in form of steaming video

lol my GF has made us watch the X-Files from start to finish three times now....she adores the show.
I've never seen an episode of the X-files. Maybe I should check it out.
I just asked, my GF HATES that episode lol
goat episode - scared the daylights out of me - only episode to ever do that
promo doesn't do it justice for obvious spoiler reasons - but go watch foulie a deux now
X-Files is just cocaine paranoia.
Finally watched Foundation s1 s2 tv series. Never read Asimov books on this. I was impressed about high level of production. Great set designs, costumes, special effects, visuals in every episode. It looks like it cost a lot to make. Jared Harris, as usual, is the strongest actor here, by far, and makes the story believable. Lee Pace is well cast as the Empire Day. The woman who plays the key figure, Demerzal, does well with a difficult and unusual role. There are tons of sophisticated sci fi, math, and biotech ideas in this show, maybe more than any sci fi show I've ever seen. That's nice, but that, along with the non-linear presentation, also made the storylines really, really complicated. I don't think I understood what was happening a lot of the time, especially Demerzal's actions. Some of it seemed preposterous to me. You have to wait to S2 e9 to get some explanation. Showmakers, let's stop with the excessive flashbacks and flashforwards. Linearity, please. Still, it was worth watching for me. Grade B+.
wait, there's a season 2 already of Foundation??
Lol yup.. S2 has more action too.

Exactly my complaint above, especially when the flashbacks explain stuff that is easy to figure out anyway. Feels like Narrative for Dummies.

My friend told me how much she loved the new season of Fargo because of its violence. I didn't know whether to kiss her or step away quietly.
Is it good?

Lee Pace has such a presence. Rare you see such acting chops with someone so good looking. Had no idea there was a second season of Foundation out yet...very cool. The actress playing Empires's robot is my MVP of the show. She's great.
