Of course that's what we do but that totally defeats the purpose of the format. As soon as nobody can reach the milestone anymore we have the exact same problems as a regular satellite: stalling, collusion, auto folding. (Ideally you combine those 3 by stalling to auto fold to help your guy on a short stack).

FWIW, the currently running Irish Open distribute remaining chips evenly among everyone who were dealt into the hand.

Sure, but there is a difference in your example between say having 12 people left hanging around for 10 seats (with two tables, etc.) with 600k on the tables, and getting down to 7 people left hanging around for 5 seats with 50k on the table; especially if the blinds are the same.

I’ve been building toward this trip report for the last two years - my last was March 2022. Since then, I’ve blown my gambling bankroll in the pits, rebuilt it at 5/10 NL and some small WSOP cashes just to blow it again on sports, hit a $10k dealt royal in video poker during F1 weekend, and gained 1

I thought it was quarters, but I have a terrible memory.

Dusted both bullets :(. Thanks for invest

Ugh. I hate folding flop, but this just feels so nutted. As much as we want to believe V has bluffs here, because it's a semi-wet flop, how many bluffs does he really have on this specific board, and we c-bet?

Im pretty sure it was. I definitely didnt feel good about it after bc i saw villain take the same line w some total nonsense not long after this. But in the moment with the limited information i had about the guy it seemed reasonable even though it was a huge deviation and incredibly nitty.

So, sounds like V is prone to doing some random nonsense type stuff. Even without that read, I think the BTN straddle being on opens up the possibility that V limped with some big PP's.

What's interesting, and could be seen as support for your decision to fold is that he continued to barrel on the second Q. A thinking player is going to slow down there if they don't have a Q.

In your spot, I'd be thinking about how often V limps from the SB with AQ/KQ vs worse QX. Folding QJ is super disciplined there, and I'd need a good reason to do it.

I'd think AQ/KQ/77/33 wouldn't bet full pot on flop and turn. I'd think AA/KK and worse QX would slow down on turn, if V is a thinking player. This line just doesn't make a lot of sense, other than being the result of entitlement tilt with AA/KK.

Jalfrezi do you understand the logic of looking at south Korea in 1958, at Ghana in the same year, both countries finally free from the shackles of colonization (Korea suffered a lot more obv, the Japanese were really genocidal to a degree the west never was in colonies), and then if 60 years later one country is measurably, objectively, insanely better, you can confidently claim the residents in that country are far better human beings?

We aren't discussing WHY they are, just assessing that any rational person has a moral duty to admit south Korean residents are exceptionally better specimen of our species than Ghana residents (or were, in the last 6 decades).

Under any value system which likes human life, children survival, education, and so on, list of objectively moral outcomes isn't short.

That is, if outcome can be used to judge a person.

Ofc you can claim it can't but then you can never judge any person in any occasion from what he achieves or fails to achieve, for what he does and so on.

Everything that works to value individuals and compare them, can apply to groups, there is no fallacy of composition in ranking

I made a final table of an $8 tournament on Saturday morning. Hungover. Captured it on video, if you're bored for 20mins this week.

I say "****" every other word though. So don't watch it when other people are about.

In mathematics of poker they speculated that small cbet strategy might be optimal in NLH and that is book from 2006.

You can't prove it without solving the spot.

Call.

I would raise bigger preflop actually. Its subtle, but I would go to 40 w 3 callers already in.

Congratulations on the milestone and best of luck for the rest of the year.

All poggers are geniuses

I'll be spamming 18 more people. They have been active lately on POG. I couldn't find more, really.

Also the numbers get small quick. "(NOT (Player is Hero)) AND (Position of Active Player Position of Selected Exactly 8) AND (Position of First Raiser Position of Selected Exactly 9) AND (Sizes Calculated in Big Blinds Preflop Action Faced With Size 2Bet Preflop Between 3 and 3) AND (Folded as First Action) AND (Effective Stack Size Big Blinds Between 100 and 100) My DB has around a million hands but the sample i end up with is 42 hands

... I suggest you take a look a look at some of the hands with your current filter and do some critical thinking.

Hello forum users!

I'm excited about the journey ahead! Indeed, I got off to a late start as I could have been grinding out the competition 12 years ago when everything was a bit easier.. Nowadays the competition is so fierce! All of the blogs and videos out there along with experience on the strategic ideas and formulas. It's hard for the average player to keep up. I have a long journey ahead as we all do in this era.

I'm just here to share some of the experiences I have encountered along the way through this process of mastering no-limit texas hold'em. There have been numerous times that I have put opponents on their exact holdings. This one time I remember years and years ago this lad online went all in and then stated "that's the only way to play that hand!" Right away I replied Jack's and he flipped over his pair of Jack's. It definitely wasn't the way I would play Jack's, yet I have seen it time and time again from, different opponents.

There have also been many a times that I have put people on AK and sometimes AQ usually I'm right or am really close as they hold AJ, A10, or AQ. When I say Kings they have Kings. This is happening time and time again! I'm just sharing this because it is an amazing experience that I wouldn't trade! I'm ready to build my bankroll and take a leap into the treacherous waters of the poker world! This is by far my favorite game of all time and I'm looking to make a go of it! I am looking to gain some followers along this journey so I have people to share my success with!

Many people don't like talking about poker that I'm around! I'm looking for like minded individuals that are just excited as I am about their poker journeys. One problem with the ga,e I have from time to time is, putting people on a particular hand and then going ahead and calling anyway. Like what's the purpose in having this skill or gift and just letting it go to waste. The other day in front of my viewer, I was like she has three Jack's it came 104J and I had 104. With no chance of winning I went ahead and made the call only to see the three Jack's. Like what was the point lol

I was at the casino half a year back and this gentleman was at a 1/3 table. He had about 1400 in front of him and quite often he was making it 30 to go. Well a couple of days later he was up there again and he had about 1100 to 1400 in front, this time sitting two to my left. Couple hands go by and there I am sitting with a pair of aces in front of me. First thing that came to mind.., this guy is going to make it 30 to go. So I smoothed called the three dollars and sure enough... 30 to go. The button calls the 30 and the bb pushes out 150. I called the 130 I had in front of me and the original raiser folds. The button calls the 150 all in. The bb flips over AQo i flip over AA and the button flips over KJo. My aces hold up and I'm sitting with over 400 now.

I'm not a professional by any means. Don't have to walk professional, talk professional, or act professional! I am The Mad Money Poker Genius! That's, that. I can hold my ground at the card table, mapping out player types and tendacies while making amazing reads! I'm about to turn up my game and take it to the top! Anyone interested in following The Mad Money Poker Genius on his journey to success and great fortune!?

I have more things I'd like to do than just poker but besides that point... poker is my starting ground! I will continue to play poker the rest of my life and hopefully this game leads to other endeavors along the way. If it never does, so be it... I love poker so much, that I could just do this the rest of my days. I have a very controversial way of playing and I rather like it. I use the gamblers approach along with the exploitive strategy! Save GTO, for the pros!

Day 1B (I think). We start with 30,000 chips 40 minute levels. At this point it is 200/400. My stack is about 28,000 chips. Not a tough table but virtually no opportunities.

Not sure which is worse calling pre or not raising flop

Call river, you want an overcall obviously.

by Polarbear1955 k

No it is not hard to believe. What is sad is you not being able to comprehend I did not write is was always cheapest but that it was often cheapest. Dismissing it out of hand as always bloating the pot is incorrect as playing a few hours of LHE would show you. Now this often is table/locale dependent.

Did you know that people are allowed to lead the turn after we raise the flop in LHE? I just want to make sure that we are on the same page before proceeding any further.

This article is in French but an American youtuber went to Haiti to try interview the biggest warlord/gangleader there and ended up kidnapped.

Ok so I have completed 10,000 hands of NL2z

My Holdem manager expired in 2022 lol, so i downloaded hand to note to use for now.

I would rate my play 4/10 couldnt find the fold BTN played like a bit of a station

Winrate was 7.3/100bb........EV winrate was 11/100bb

More about me I work Fulltime as a Building managment Control engineer so my playing time will be limited maybe and hour or 2 a day

Anyways for the Graph

We ‘should’ be able to shove wider in a satellite because calling ranges ‘should’ be tighter.
We most definitely can shove a lot stronger hands too.

Hey there fellow 2+2ers

I am a long time mtt reg who has made almost all of my income from tournament poker since i was 18, which closing in on beign 10 years ago soon. I tried some jobs here and there, went to university and all that so poker as sometimes part time, sometimes more than that. After realizing just how much worse any option i had available to me was than poker i decided to fully commit myself to it and start really studying and learning this game and see if i could do some damage.

I have worked out a structured way in studying and improving and re invested quite a bit of my earnings in to making studying as efficient and easy as possible. I used to think solvers read like a made up language and struggled to know what to make of things, i didnt have direction and i didnt know if i was wasting my time. Thats why i try to really keep it as simple and clear as possible and have ways of tracking the progress being made. And i am confident i can help anyone who plays mtts up to my stakes at the very least. I have a deal with someone who plays higher than me so i dont think stakes are that important of a factor, but yeah anyone from 0-100 abi im sure i can be of help to.

I have a few pgcs on here from all the way back to when i was playing 15 dollar sngs to a very recent one.

Here is a recent graph of my results since june last year (lacking a few recent games but not much)

To start out i will offer only 90 min sessions at 125$ each.

What i typically will do for you:

- Analyze and get a good idea of what your game looks like
- Find your leaks and prioritize them so you know you are working on what is most important to fix
- Show you how to fix them, so that there are no questionmarks for you. I dont point out an issue without a clear way of fixing that issue

And many other things depending on your needs. If you want to learn/know about something specific that can be done as well, i.e i prepare a session on a topic of your choice.
