Update April 2018

OK Vlogger Thread, we are going with some new parameters to try to make this the POSITIVE vlogger thread that it is supposed to be, not the AIDS vlogger thread where a few loonies ruin it for the rest. Note that 'positive' does not equal 'only positive', it means anything negative being said CAN'T be namecalling or wild, unsubstantiated speculation regarding any and all vloggers. Personal lives and anything aside from poker is OFF THE TABLE.

A new update March 2019:
NO ****ING POLITICS!
To be fair, TBCs biggest random jackpots over the years on slots and VP are what keeps him afloat. 6 akin to picking up 25-30k a year in tournament scores without the grind. I can't stand him as a human being, we've had our differences but I respect his fearlessness. He's operating at max capacity given his condition.
+1 on operating capacity but according to Myrna on here all of TBC’s slot plays are AP spots, and compared to video blackjack/pai gow/baccarat degening, his VP plays are neutral/plus EV. I also think OMC says TBC makes a lot of money on spite calls since he is so intolerable at the table, so he does have an edge there on the other windowlickers we talk about on here.
I would rather make fish with TBC, Trooper, and Diesel in a hotel room than play limit holdem
Ha id rather drive cross country with Diesel than play NL these days. If I was forced to play hold em it would definitely be something like 40/80 limit.
If those 3 shared a room TBC would go out to Walmarts (not a typo) and come back to see Diesel filleting trooper to make the skin suit.
I would like to put all 4 of them in a house together and make a poker vlog out of it. A house that one of the 4 bought 4 years ago with a better interest rate. I would half El Diesel claim the living room couch for $300 a month.
Id pay the rent on the house if we could film it for 3 months or until one of them is dead.
TBC stopped saying Walmarts a while back. I am surprised but see it with no s every time now.
I'm guessing you have never played any fixed limit games. $2400 is 120 Big Bets in 10/20 FL which is anything but buying in short. The most you can lose in a single hand is 12 big bets and that's only if it's capped on all streets. People most commonly buy-in with 5-20 big bets. Anything above that is unnecessary.
I also think OMC says TBC makes a lot of money on spite calls since he is so intolerable at the table, so he does have an edge there on the other windowlickers we talk about on here.
Rice would get more than his fair share of spite calls. I can't imagine anyone having a more tilt inducing combination of traits and characteristics than Rice has.

Jokes on them trying to bust Diesel to get him to leave when you do the opposite and give him zero action and he'll leave on his own accord. Although if Diesel gets stuck a buy in, he will leave as well. Mixed bag as far as getting rid of the dead seat.

Yeah but now he's content just trading blinds back and forth as he is only playing for comps/promos. And of course he's always listening for any opportunities to score a free meal from an unsuspecting opponent who dares mention the possibility of food within earshot of Rice.

I'm surprised Diesel doesn't walk around the casino floor looking for people with take out that are gambling and asking if they are going to get the food to a fridge in time before it spoils and if not, he'll take care of it.
Can you imagine how much lower his food costs can be if he gets one meal handout a day?

No one sitting with more than 60bbs gives him action anymore, probably because he starts drooling or grunting whenever he has a nut hand with people betting into him lol.
For the life of me, I still do not know how TBC is not broke and still moving along just fine. At least we need an estimate on his expenses but not down to the penny like El Diesel.
It's one of two things:
1. He has additional $$$ coming in (from gov't or family). His fans are too stupid to figure this out.
or
2. He's a really old inside joke for some twoplustwoers.
There's no way someone can play low limt poker, blow thousands away occasionally in the pits, and have the housing/traveling costs he does.
I'm right there with you with anxiety issues. I enjoyed most nights dealing, and I'll always have that in my back pocket if push comes to shove. I get some people are being harsh but giving good advice, but there are also people who are just asshats spewing nonsense. As for the hobby / job path...I mean, yeah, i video edit and love doing it. It pays good. I like my boss a lot. We're a good team. But do I want to do it for life? No. I want to be a professional poker player. And the only thing sto
Why do you want to be a professional poker player?
Classic Diesel vlog. He says he's detail oriented and specific. Gives stats on everything especially laundry costs. So of course he basically lists every hand that went to showdown which are standard hands and just glosses over the hand. Not his holdings. Not the villain's holdings. No board cards. No action taken on any street. No individual result. No overall result for the day.
Just I lost these hands but still ended up winning good but it could have been huge but of course no actual numbers given.
I know he's said he doesn't want this vlog to be a hand history vlog like all the huge successful vlogs out there. Definitely don't want to copycat their format. I don't think anyone wants Diesel to break down every hand he plays cause honestly, that would be scary to listen to his thought process during a hand. But even for someone that doesn't want this to be a hand history vlog which I can understand, nothing wrong with tossing in an interesting or significant hand of the session.
We pretty much know why he doesn't share day to day poker results but he does win at poker. Low Limit NL in Vegas isn't very profitable. Showing you make a single digit hourly is still ahead of the game vs the player pool.
I mean what's more embarrassing? Sharing your daily results, a hand history of the day or yet another $0 laundry expense? Even his idol Trooper shared his daily results and an interesting or notable hand.
Diesel has made some really bad vlogs but this one is totally worthless. Just four minutes of rambling generalities.
Id be curious to know Pmans study routine. People ITT keep saying Pman studies solvers, but if you are still butchering preflop this badly, then I have my doubts. It shouldn't take years to learn preflop.

Yeah, also its a pretty big miss for a guy like Pman to study solvers when you dont even have the basic fundamentals down and cant beat 1/3 live NL. Like he defends 63 off from the blinds or ships it pre with 22 i mean come on. He should put his energy elsewhere, for example discussing hands/exploits with players that is proven winners at 1/3 or 2/5 live, and is experienced in the live environment.
Its like a total overkill for him to focus on solvers, trying to kill mice with a rocketlauncher.

This is exactly what I've been telling Pman for years. Basic fundamentals and preflop ranges are the simplest part to learn. It's pretty much a perfect upper left arrow with some variation on any preflop chart out there.
But he doesn't like my aggressive tone cause I'm frustrated with him. This is the absolute easiest thing to nail down. It's been three years on this journey to playing professionally and Pman is still at square one. He just doesn't get it. Hears how bad he's playing truthfully and doesn't want to hear it. Friends with actual crushers but they want to sugarcoat things obviously and don't want to burst his dream bubble.
I asked him what did the solver say when he plugged in the 63 off and he said it yelled at him. That's probably as far as he got. Just chalked it up to another hand he shouldn't have played and poof it's out of mind, out of sight. Ya I know it was bad but I'll just not play it next time.
He doesn't understand these aren't small errors that have a minor impact on the hourly (I have to remember to use hourly with Pman cause he doesn't have a win rate). I don't even think regular tourists would defend with the 63 off.
He needs to get to the root cause as to why he played the 63 off and two things jump to mind as to the possible reasons. One, boredom. Two, thinking you are way better than the field and can outplay and outmaneuver them postflop out of position for the whole hand.
But he won't read this either and will post another tl:dr meme and lol even though everything I say is on point.
Pman is where he deserves to be in his poker career.
Could he still make it? Sure. But his mindset is in the wrong place and by wrong place, I mean he actually thinks he's a good player and is playing well for almost every session.
You can only blame variance and run bad for so long. Eventually you arrive at the long run and no more excuses can be made.
solvers and GTO are worthless in 1/3.
is your hand any good? what's your opponent like? is his timing consistent with the board runout? does villian think you bluff a lot? does the flop hit his range? did he call or bet earlier?

He's already arrived at the long run. 3 years is a long time of losing in LLSNL. Pman probably sees his high stakes friends and says oh, they have losing months too, this is perfectly normal, I just run bad, must be variance! But they are playing way tougher games. You should rarely have losing months at 1-3.

You must not of followed the blog back in the day, he is from a middle of nowhere **** hole town and his mom has no money, any extra money she has is spent on taking care of TBC's son.
He had some monthly Gov. money coming in many years ago, but did something to mess it up, or didn't want it anymore, I can't remember.
Follow his twitter, he posts plenty of updates, also hits decent slot payouts and drawings every now and then.
And don't forget he is rainman at the BJ and poker tables.

He only plays 5 hours a week.
What have you done since you moved here the first time that shows significant improvement, mental fortitude and a strong foundational knowledge of basic preflop range charts and postflop play?
You have been given enough benefit of the doubt of working towards actually playing poker for a living. You have failed every step of the way and that's ok. You took your shot and you failed. Nothing wrong with that. In fact, it's commendable that you took a risk when most people don't. But enough's en
What arrogance one must possess to think that another adult must answer to you or live up to the expectations that you demand of them. That is otherworldly egomania. You address him as if he's your 8 year old son and he is not meeting your parental expectations in 3rd grade.
You have some sort of personality complex disorder.
Would anybody here admit to subscribing to Rice's monthly newsletter ??

Koshka is spot on with what he said about Pman, its just the harsh reality. Pman talks about wanting to be a pokerpro in life, but never follow up with actions. Only talk talk talk, and goals that he isnt achieving.
Also Koshka has never claimed that Pman has to meet _his_ demands, that is just one massive strawman wich seems to be an exercise you master.
